23  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [SECURITY] How to spot a scammer on Paxful on: October 25, 2016, 12:59:11 AM
Good write up.

plenty of chargeback scams and other things to watch for.

many people will open multiple trades, Honest reason is to try to get the quickest responder, because they are impatient and inconsiderate, others to try to scam.  who ever cashes out the gift card first is in luck, and the second person is at a loss if they get the gift card, release, but have not yet spent the gift card.

Also Many people will send the gift card and not mark paid.  make sure you mark paid if you have given payment details.

Many people look for the best price (typically cash in person or cash in the mail)  when they are trying to send paypal or a gift/credit card.
There is a HoneyPot to catch some of them. It catches about 15/day
24  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [EDU] List of Bitcoin Scam Sites on: August 22, 2016, 12:36:55 AM
I have not had any issues with the site Paxful.
I have had to block many of the users.

they use bitgo, and some have had problems with withdraws getting delayed.

keep your trade in escrow.

when you withdraw send it to your own wallet, especially for time sensitive transactions.

use 2fa,
don't use tor.  especially if you don't know the exit node operator.
25  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Paxful.com - SCAM WEBSITE [STAY AWAY] on: August 22, 2016, 12:34:17 AM
Issue seems to have been with bitgo

bitgo is a multisig wallet service.

bitfinex recently had some issues with bitgo.

paxful has explained that their bitgo setup is not the same as bitfinex setup.

I have not had any issues with paxful.
26  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: BEWARE OF PAXFUL on: August 22, 2016, 12:27:42 AM
haven't had any problems with mine.

have 2fa set up, and login notifications.

i don't keep much on there.

any disputes are usually resolved fairly quickly. much quicker than lbc.

don't use tor, especially if 2fa is not set up.
27  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Paxful is a Scam on: August 22, 2016, 12:04:25 AM
I have not had any problems with the site.

some of the users are problematic.

make sure your 2fa is set up.

go into the settings and adjust the notifications.

Good news

Herbalife is not a pyramid, as long as they sell 80%+ to end users.

must me bitcoinpyramid is also ok, as long as 80% goes to the ad section.

Binfinex trading paused 4hrs ago, their price should have been ignored.

35  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: BCTIP - Printable Bitcoin Tips on: December 04, 2015, 02:36:15 AM
just noticed the $50 option in there.

also $25

The ATMs around here only allow a cash out of $20+

they have a 6-15% fee

and the exchange rate fluctuates.

so a $20 won't do much good here sometimes but a $25 does.

$50 option would be nice

Got about 50% back before the collapse.

I thought it would last a little longer.

I suggested this for BitcoinPyramid too, but it was never done.

I'm not good enough at coding to do it myself, or i would.

Make a second site where the primary focus is the ads.
allow people to invest in multi-level profits to the ads

the database between both sites would be shared, and everything works the same, but the ads are shown as the front page.

I came across someone who had seen my referral link to the bitcoinpyramid site, that said they would play the game, and could get many others to play if the focus was shifted in the other direction.

I have many positions on the pyramid that pay into other positions.... I also have many positions that pay into old dead exchanges.... so I am looking forward to a new alt coin one so I can begin again and do it properly.... WITH MY OWN WALLETS.... The bitcoinpyramid is becoming a lost cause for me because I was dumb and stupid when I first signed up....

I also used a few deposit addresses as withdraw addresses, and some ad addresses as withdraw addresses. mostly in the member 700-800 range

also opticbit.com is now opticbit.org for some of the ads.  My domain thief recently lowered request from $1000 to $100 i might by it back.

I checked and I can replace the withdraw addresses also for these particular cases... The only thing that will be "strange" is if someone check the backups they will notice the change... but I can leave a note about what happened.

I dont need any addresses changed. I have the private keys for the ones that count.
