here my "open letter to the community" without calling specific people out or being rude and nooone can censor my blog so its kinda perfect lol thanks
http://www.thedashguy.com/2016/02/05/dash-is-broken-and-has-an-identity-crisis/
Hope it helps people understand what my intent is around here.
There is no identity crisis/spirits broken, more likely you are projecting your own failings onto others, you keep going on about 'hard work' and all you've done, for like a month yes, what is it you expect in return? (sounds like we owe you a hefty bill already)

Are you not aware people have tirelessly helped and been paid nothing for 2 years on multiple translations, testnet, writing guides, tweeting their asses off, spreading the word (in the real world), making contacts and investing their own money and time into this project and will continue to do?

The way you are carrying on, it is not helping Dash or code development(slack) and the community has been divided due to your presence, you may think you are helping but the evidence suggests otherwise, and you say 'don't judge me' and yet you are very quick to judge a whole community after only a month or 2 of knowing us, you leap to concrete conclusions based on insufficient evidence derived by what you think you know (a common human fallacy admittedly I do it myself, no one is perfect)

Again, you not being a masternode holder I am confused by what your motives or trying to gain from all this, but it looks like you are either a crusader that likes to save people from themselves(because they are too stupid?) or have more nefarious motives, hard to say as I've not met you.

Normally I would not comment or get involved but this had to said.

Peace.

That's a centralized, for-profit company that is using clever cryptographic technology to obfuscate transactions. In twenty years, when NSA breaks ZK-SNARKS, everything anybody has ever done on their blockchain will be revealed. Every transaction ever made will be readable.
Dash uses a mixing technology to obfuscate transactions, rather than relying on cryptography to obscure them. Transactions are obfuscated instead by mixing the inputs, so that it will never be clear who made what transactions. We are future-proof. They are not. Maybe nobody ever breaks ZK-SNARKS, but if they do...
Oh good, a Monero troll that I forgot to block. Taking immediate corrective action.
Please feel free, by the way, to deanonymize an 8 round Darksend transaction any time you'd like. I'll be glad to provide you with a TX ID.
Its not all bad, I have him and his masters to thank for the last Monero pump, I could never bring myself to actually buy any, but I like the idea of shorting it, that way, I own -400 Monero which nicely sums up how I felt about the long term prospects.
Funny thing was I got shafted on the etherium rise(also a short) but the Monero profits canceled it out.
so thanks to all the Monero marketing team for that one! Wink

I finally changed my votes to "No" due to the crazy flip-flopping the network was doing. Plus Otoh had changed his votes from "No" to "Yes" just this morning, due to hearing it was working out with Terpin. I asked him to change them back to "No" so we could implement a proper contract. I think it makes much more sense.
it doesn't read like: The network of master nodes decide  Roll Eyes
Hmm true dat. Seems like a few people control a lot of masternodes. A majority?  Motion that 'vote many' is abolished ?
lol, I suggested getting rid of the vote many about a year ago, but it didn't go down very well.

Problem with withdrawals in COINS-E

Almost anybody uses them, but just in case... a few days ago a user contacted us because he was having problems to withdraw a few DASH from coins-e and he sent me a few screen captures. I tried to reach out to them to check but they don't answer emails, so I have deleted them from dash.org and I strongly advise against trading there.
Yer I wrote coin-e off months ago, you can also remove www.bter.com as well.
Just before Cryptsy went down I narrowly escaped selling some Dash into a unknown alt, sent it to bter, alt rises, I sell for .25 btc, try to withdraw and now its been transfered to 'BTC Pending BTC_B' for no apparent reason apart from bter were hacked last year, I read on some reddit forums and find out others have got this annoying problem, cardinal mistake once again - I withdrew in btc and not some other currency that I may have got (or not)
So have gone from a cryptsy indefinite pending to a 'BTC Pending BTC_B', which may or may not get refunded at some future date!
Do not use Bter, is my advice, which is a shame as they have many yuan pairs, and Dash/Yuan  Sad

Account notes:
(Notice: The previous BTC balance has been moved to BTC-B which will be used as the reference for 100% compensating our user's BTC loss.)

So they are going to compensate someone elses loss with my loss!

hey guys just wondering about this whole cryptsy gox situation. Is cryptsy suspected of stealing DASH or was most DASH returned to its users? has anyone located the cryptsy master DAsH wallet is there a large amount they are holding that can get dumped on our heads?
Your guess is as good as anyone at the moment.
I do expect a media article soon with cryptsy representatives claiming they are poor as church mice.

has there been any attempts to locate the crypsty DASH wallet? I remember we were all keeping tabs in this thread on the mintpal DRK wallet
can only find the obvious btc wallet, when I explore the Dash transfers it is split up and lost

old post from 2014, but looks like they had over half of the total supply of many alts in the cold wallet, no wonder withdrawals of minor alts are working (or not?!)

Has Cryptsy finally  kick the bucket.  I've had a meager 0.9 of a BTC for weeks.   No go... Has anyone taken anything out successfully in the last few weeks?
Mates just tried a small amount of Doge which was accepted then he tried around ~.2 btc of Doge and it is stuck on pending for 2 days.
Suggest using some minor alt coin like quarkcoin, html5 or Uno, check on an exchange like bter for a pair that has a smallish but usable amount of volume, don't forget the chinese yuan pairs, you can always flip it back afterwards ..

Btw, Big Verns twitter was purged, seems like its come back now, all very fishy

BTC Block Size Consensus Reached? Bitcoin Classic is Unveiled

(about time)
...and the good news dumping ensues...
LOL, people are so ridiculous!  No matter how you feel about it, a dumping tantrum just serves to lose you money.  I've seen it here on Dash, but I think this might be the first childish tantrum I've seen with Bitcoin Tongue
It's one thing to dump if you think nothing is going to happen and that there is a risk of something majorly bad to happen, but another because you don't like the decision.

LOL !!!!!
Someone is dumping hard!
That dumping coincides with the Cryptsy founder Paul Vernon being spotted in China after he left his company HQ unannounced.
Needs to pay hotel bills, I guess...
Another exit-scam after Mt.Gox, Hashfast, Mintpal and others.
Well his company HQ has also left unannounced! Is it true his wife left him in November around the time things went from bad to worse?

Btw do you know how to convert bitcoin days destroyed into actual bitcoins, if lets say we have 50,000,000  days destroyed?

Europe currently in full tanking mode. They had to close the Chinese market this morning to stop it from selling off.

The Road Ahead:
Fed raise rates --> tank emerging markets --> tank european markets --> tank US markets --> recession --> massive deflation --> unsustainable sovereign debt-to-GDP ratios --> defaults --> Central Banks: oops, better print more cash --> massive inflation --> currency confidence crisis --> monetary collapse --> IMF: it's ok, we've got a standby world currency called "Special Drawing Rights", lets everybody use that --> reset --> one world currency.

Bewildered public who lost all their money: "You 'bar-stewards'. That was the plan all along  Tongue ".
You forgot death, blood and suffering. :-/
Yeah, large doses of that if it looks like power's shifting the wrong way, interesting times :/ Don't forget BRICS btw, 2 party economics based on the 2 party US "democratic"(tm) system. If the mainstream media get behind an "end the fed" campaign it's time to panic as the IMF is about to make their winning move and become the "great saviour" from the catastrophe they created for the purpose.
Way I see it, is that certain populations have become 'ponerized'.
This means that a small group of amoral individuals have taken over control and have steadily removed morality and ethics from the culture, typically psycopathic in nature and are far removed and detest normal society.
An example is drone bombing thousands of innocent civilians in multiple countries, there is no outrage any more, there is no right or wrong, of course none of the somewhat minor protests are shown on the main stream news.
The dumbing down, no clear definition of morality or plan and lack of explanation of whats going on leads to ignorance and further ponerization.
Everything Hitler did was legal and cheered by millions of people, in the UK we had all the MP's clapping for war in Syria making glorious speechs about sending drones in to murder potential terrorists (meaning bombing random houses with children in them, same like the Nazi V2 doodlebugs in WW2), but somehow this time, its the 'right' thing to do.
http://www.ponerology.com/evil_2b.html
''The first step in the ponerization of a group often appears as a moral distortion of the group’s original ideology. The existence of simplistic concepts (e.g., whether moral or legal) blocks any ability for critical thought in relation to the existence of psychopaths or their possible influence on the initial warping of the group’s ideology. Such doctrinaire concepts are prevalent in the neoconservative ideology. For example, “You’re either with us or against us (in the War on Terror)” and the completely arbitrary use of the labels “terrorist,” “terrorist sympathizer”, and “suspected terrorist.”''

''Living in a world whose morals and customs are meaningless to them and even seen as oppressive, psychopaths dream of a "happy" and "just" world where their depraved worldview is accepted as reality. They seek, by any means necessary, to achieve positions in government where their dreams can be brought to fruition. If injustice does exist in a society, their statements regarding the 'unfairness' of their situation can resonate with those who actually do experience such injustice. Thus, revolutionary doctrines can be accepted by both groups for diametrically opposed reasons. ''

Really? Someone just threw 1 million coins into the market? Please point me to which exchange, because I can't seem to find it and would love to buy at such an amount of liquidity. I'd also like to know when that "premine" supposedly happened.

I've got an I7-3770k delidded, overclocked to 4.5Ghz and watercooled. Also have a GTX 960 overclocked.
Is it worth mining DASH with this hardware?
I did little reading last night and I seem I cannot finding a mining guide for cpu & gpu for DASH. Is there one?
https://dashpay.atlassian.net/wiki/display/DOC/Mining+guide
Thanks, guys. I will give her a shot. I haven't mined in years with a PC. Most difficult thing atm for me is Getting the right miner "Latest best", setting up these miners with cmd lines or cfgs and tuning them.
Edit:
Oh I am using win7x64 btw, so finding .exe files too is difficult.
Can u guys point me in the right post for the best cpu and gpu miner?
Nvidia is 'Step 5' on Tungfa's wiki link, I kinda added it onto the end of a AMD mining guide and winged it, you're lucky because Nvidia is easier to setup,is already highly optimized and more maintained,
start with the more upto date sp-hash version, the link is provided (https://github.com/sp-hash/ccminer/releases/), if that doesn't work goto the sp-mod version.
you could get 0.2-0.3 Dash per day on a card of that spec, lets us know your daily payout for future referance, cheers ...

port mapping - I think they are referring to port forwarding(like allowing port 9999 in to a port on a local machine).  Same as what is required for a masternode.  If you do that with a bitcoin node(port 8333) you can get more connections than just 8.  Without forwarding you are only downloading (not uploading).

We may be upgrading to an ODROID-XU4 because the pi is taking an hour to sync up on bootup.  Also an Easter egg might just make it in if time permits.
Can you forceable add 8 or more ultra fast masternode seeds with the lowest latency in the config so that the wallet updates only from them and stays on them and doesn't need to seek, or is this a case of the Pi not keeping up with data flow ?

Aha, think I get it now, so basically most full client coin wallets are stuck behind router firewalls and the port forwarding limits the packet information and restricts seeding, also server providers are known for capping bandwidth particularly at peak periods and when torrent downloads are suspected they also kick in and combined this explains why I only had 1 dweeb like peer for litecoin.
Not a problem for the average masternode then is it, makes for a good Tao sync ratio  Grin  Grin  Grin

Does anyone know what they're talking about here:
https://www.reddit.com/r/bitcoinmini/comments/3qre54/why_are_regular_full_nodes_responsible_for/
What is high speed CDNs?  I guess it's used for a "mini"?  I don't know what that is either?  Smiley  Is it special technology? or something all masternodes could use?
Don't know the Mini but concur other coins lock onto crabby slow nodes but I never find that with Dash,
port mapping sounds interesting, is this something a masternode could have, we can be even quicker, more records broken ? ( and we ain't talking vinyl either)
38  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash | First Anonymous Coin | Inventor of X11, DGW, Darksend and InstantX on: January 01, 2016, 06:04:49 PM
As we can see in terms of active nodes Dash is the only network comparable to Bitcoin and way ahead of Litecoin.
I did a Tao sync ratio and blockchain time check for litecoin to check out for comparision and it would not reliably lock onto the seed nodes, I was updating literally from only 1 node at the 17-26 minutes point, after this long I should have had many peers.

Had to repeat the result 3 times to get a result I felt was fairly consistent (the others were all worse times)
So the entire litecoin blockchain best result for 4 years,9 weeks and 5 days = 1 hour and 18 minutes
And the Tao sync ratio = 0.2144 seconds per hour of update.

For the amount of transactions litecoin does, this was a impressively high Tao sync ratio but the peers seriously let down the wallet function, I even had to restart it a few times.
(The worst litecoin update for the entire blockchain was over 5 hours! It seemed to be stuck on bad/slow peers for ages)

Try it yourself and see if you get a different result..

That would bump you up to the 'with the aid of a lens' category. Smiley
For reference the QR code was on a 42" tv run by a raspberry pi.  I didn't have any more wall space to backup, but my phone had more capability.  You can also generate a QR code with additional error correction, so to really max out this distance you need to max out the error correction setting when making the QR code.
So I need to get a bigger tv! I will give it a try, think the room is smaller than that, if I use a wall mirror that could double the distance.
There is an optical limit to normal magnification of around 1000 times, although those meta materials can bend the laws of physics but thats even more off topic, anyway happy new year again and byzz, I'm vaporizing about now  Cheesy
