not sure if commands are different on OS X, but this is what you need to do
source "$HOME/.gvm/scripts/gvm" && gvm use go1.4
compile/get-dependencies.sh
compile/install-to-gopath.sh
then, you should be able to run wallet, generate addresses, etc.
