21  Economy / Economics / What is the best method to ask for donations and the best place for ads? on: July 08, 2013, 10:50:39 AM
For example, on my website, http://heavensentgaming.com/ I have a few small notices for accepting donations via Bitcoin.

I'm a huge supporter of cryptocurrancies, especially P2P ones, like the Bitcoin darling. But; I hate shoving ads down people's throats. It's uncouth.

I don't mind it so much when it's not targeted at a particular individual, no privacy issues that way. However, web-ads have gotten out of control. With their cookies, tracking software, and the selling of information to third parties. But, I also don't like asking for donations every few pixels across a website either.

I'm scaling back a lot of that stuff around my site. And, as a website administrator, I wonder what other people's opinions are of ads and tracking in general.

And, in terms of economy, what how would someone respond to seeing a bitcoin donation button? Even well trafficed sites, like The Pirate Bay recieve very little Bitcoin donations for their traffic; but some musicians and webcomics recieve a decent amount from Bitcoin donations; and then sites like Wikileaks recieve LARGE donations.
22  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: SELL ME YOUR 6990/7970. NO REASONABLE OFFER REFUSED on: June 25, 2013, 11:15:39 PM
I have a few 6990s, one of them is practically new. And, I wouldn't mind parting with it if the price was right.

The one I'm willing to part with has only been plugged in a couple of times, to check if it's functioning.

I'd be willing to part with it for 6.99 BTC, simply because of the name of the device lol. That would, of course, include shipping and all that good stuff.

You can throw out another offer if you'd like, but the GPU is pretty immaculate.

"It's a bird!"
"It's a plane!"
"No, it's a server!"

Seriously, this would be an awesome feature. Let's just hope they respond, in kind, to all the positive vigor.

This is probably my favorite mining pool.
26  Economy / Services / Ecwid Bitcoin Payment Option on: April 12, 2012, 10:27:15 AM
Ecwid is a free shopping cart. It can be added to websites and embedded on social media networks. It's easy to use and efficient.

It currently accepts many different traditional payment methods. But there is currently a request for Bitcoin to be added.

I cast my vote, and there's currently 639 votes for it. This would be an amazing way to introduce quite a large group of people to Bitcoin, and it would make it easy for small-businesses, indie musicians, and artists to join in the Bitcoin economy.

I'm glad you think so, I just used it and got "The Bitcoin Forum" so I donated 10 bitcents to it. Cheesy

Thank you for commenting, I'm glad you liked it.  Smiley

The link right after the "According to:" underneath the bitcoin address shows where we found the address to begin with. We want to make sure people can verify whether it's the right addresses or not, that way they can correct us if we have it wrong.
32  Other / Beginners & Help / bitdonate.org a “Donation Suggestion” site on: November 13, 2011, 07:19:36 AM
Howdy,

My name's Mario, and I had an idea for a bitcoin related website. A simple “Donation Suggestion” site. I'm somewhere in the middle of making the site. But, I wanted to show the site in it's noob-ish form. It's missing a lot of places and whatnot, but that's fine for now.

Give it a try, and tell me what you think. It's simple, but I think it'll be fun to set my miner to a random worthy cause that needs a couple cents here and there.

bitdonate.org

P.S. I realize it's a bit redundant since people can simply look up charities to donate to. The difference is, I decided to make a little game of chance with it... I'm a game designer, it's how I think lol.

Peace,
Mario (SmileLee)
