21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: VERITASEUM DISCUSSION THREAD on: October 22, 2017, 06:36:23 PM
The only thing Reggie is guilty of is underestimating the time and effort to get the JSE up and running, and in my mind, that's pretty forgivable as it is an easy thing to do.

It's entirely plausible the issue is at the JSE end, or it's unforeseen regulatory hurdles or such.

A simple post confirming it's him on his twitter would suffice for verification.

Has anybody here seen this report on Veritaseum that came out yesterday?

http://lighthousecrypto.com/LightHouseCryptoVeritaseumReport.pdf

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2285417.0

I've been hodling VERI from the top, but this is so much new information to the downside that I sold my tokens. I hope I'm not mistaken but this just smells too fishy to me..

What do the current VERI  think about the information in this report?
Hmmmm....
A newbie with 0 post hisotry... posting a report from brand new user "Lighthouse Crypto." Same old FUD.
Why so much energy to tear VERI down? Why not just find something you believe in?

It's amazing that they managed to collate all that information together so neatly isn't it, including a link to the post "Report: Cryptoasset Veritaseum (VERI) is Worth Close to $0" which resides in the Altcoin forum, currently on page 8 with no replies, and has less than 50 views! Fancy that! Just stumbled across it did they! Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

And to then go on and say they've sold up, man, laughably transparent FUD Cheesy Roll Eyes

The potential with VERI keeps on coming for sure! Reggie could announce a huge deal right now but the whole China issue and Bitcoin nosediving (and successive knock on effect on all Crypto) is hogging all the attention.

Positive movement in crypto has limited parity between BTC/Alts, yet negative is usually almost absolute as when Bitcoin tanks, generally the lot do too. Anyway I'm sure everyone is aware of that but hopefully in the future projects like VERI with entirely different business models and fundamentals in place won't be affected by this lemming behaviour.

The Jamaica deal/listing can't come soon enough really, now personally I see the next massive milestone as a second big partner getting on board, as soon as the demonstrations between the two turn into live the whole thing will sell itself as the business model crushes the legacy fiat profit houses, the proof of the pudding will be in the eating, and Jamaica + A.N Other will be at the table proving up the utility value of VERI, others will not sit idly by, and so adoption begins to snowball.

I think a lot of people are salty about the website because it's not just a cookie cutter job like the rest, it takes time to do due dilligence on Veritaseum, and so for whatever reason they let the opportunity pass.

Now they're looking to point the finger as to why they didn't invest, and instead of pointing it at the figure in the mirror, they're pointing it at the website.

There are tons of high profile people moaning about being censored on youtube as there are adult stars doing their own thing on video sharing websites significantly inferior to what this promises, and having used it, delivers.

Has anyone worked out the infamous "." tweet from Reggie?

He hasn't tweeted since (well he has technically, but it's a social engagement bot)

This was posted October 2016, and I wrote about this topic in the very same month, shame I didn't see this thread till now really Roll Eyes

"I think blocking and cheaply labelling toknormal a troll as others on the thread have is a bit much."

I am sorry to say, but you don't have a clue!

Behave Roll Eyes Smiley Here's an article I wrote heavily referencing Veritaseum in November 2015 and I remain as bullish as ever, I try and see things from all angles is all, anyway I'm off out to look for some clues Cheesy

Stop beating a dead horse in this thread.

Hey, the horse is not dead - it's well and truly alive in case you hadn't noticed and this thread is only too happy to celebrate it.

It's alive because of a formula - the formula that I and others have been highlighting and the formula that Reggie designed, so don't diss it. You might regret it Wink

1. VERI didn't decide to calculate the marketcap based on that formula... (eg. this is not coinmarketcap thread)
2. See 1.

This.

I guess we'll see if these concerns are validated as more exchanges will give a larger basis for price discovery.

I think blocking and cheaply labelling toknormal a troll as others on the thread have is a bit much.

That pop from the Jamaica stock exchange news is still being felt, if only there were more exchanges to go for eh, oh if only there was some kind of list that took you to the Jamaica stock exchange amidst the other plausible targets for Veritaseum to give you an idea of the scale here... Roll Eyes

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_stock_market_indices#Jamaica

Oh and if only that list didn't include institutions and other banking targets that are potentially bigger and more lucrative.

I just don't see where the value is going to come from going forward Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

 Grin

/sarcasm.

To be serious for a moment, I do understand the sense of trepidation felt by some posting on here about a lot of tokens being "off book" yet to be distributed,  reading between the lines most of these posts imply that this will put downpressure on the price, that said what I think they're struggling to get their heads around is the inherent value added with each sale, many will be met with news akin to the Jamaica announcement, the network effect has already begun, value is added with each sale especially if it's high profile, it can be hard to get your head around I know!
33  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: VERITASEUM DISCUSSION THREAD on: July 04, 2017, 06:19:39 PM
To be exact:

1. Clif's friend predicts VERI is going to $5000 next year.

2. Clif himself predicts that VERI is going to be on par with BTC this time next year (May/June). He predicts that BTC might get to $18,008 by that time... which means VERI will be at more or less the same price.

Will we get there? Hell yeah!  Cool

I've been dealing with a person who claims Veritaseum had no wallet or code since Ultra Coin ..Claims no product since 2014 and it's all a scam.

I present exhibit A, 2014 video of Ultra Coin client, and Developer.

2014 video of working code

Another Video basically the same 2015 Wallet
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TOlN6eWWFaA

Just to pour more water on this guys FUD! I authored the following article which references Veritaseum explicitly, as well as screenshotting the client! (A screenshot I did myself)

This is from November 2015, it's verifiable by wayback machine etc,

Does anybody have any experience in how long under "normal" conditions a new coin/token generally gets listed on a major exchange? I heard that it normally takes only a little time after an ICO and that VERI was taking ages. I thought by the end of this month surely this token would be tradable to the masses via a main exchange, but the end of the month is only a week away now.

So what is the "normal" wait time, or am I asking how long a piece of string is?

The way I'm looking at it is this, the longer it takes to list the more value is added to the product anyway Cool

Regarding compensation to twitter users, as a VERITAS.1 holder from 2015 you guys have been very well rewarded, be happy and stop whining!

36  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Can We Make Bitcoin Mainstream? on: November 17, 2014, 11:16:36 PM
use it, ask for it, create a demand

its banking without the banks

it will do what email did to the post office,

the post office is now mainly parcel delivery not information delivery

Both absolutely correct, I've written a concept that does the above, please check out my BackBit thread!

I feel like I'm hitting my head on a brick wall here  Grin

37  Bitcoin / Project Development / BackBit - a free open source bitcoin payment handler needs your help! on: November 17, 2014, 07:01:27 PM
Hello bitcoin community,

I've been working on the blueprints for a free open source payment handler for a while now and I need your help to set up a bounty to get it built,

http://backbit.co.uk/ <- project site has videos, conceptual diagrams and user perspective mock-ups.

https://www.startjoin.com/backbit <- I'm raising a bounty here.

In a TL;DR nutshell the major talking points are it would allow anyone to accept payment for physical and digital goods and give you complete control over your finances + more.

None of the final bounty goes to me, just the development team who bring it to life.

Thanks, and would be great to hear from you.

Now crowdfunding a bounty to make this real.
39  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: BackBit the bit at the back of bitcoin, digital delivery concept. on: April 29, 2014, 12:23:38 PM
The whole thing is conceptual atm, I'm under no illusion that I can conjure this all up myself, I am happy to slice the pie and include others as needed, hence it being here in project development Smiley

This seems like the next big thing to hit bitcoin.

 Thanks Smiley

RE: your open source question, quite honestly I'm at a fork in the road of how to proceed!

One possibility to strongly consider, is to approach BackBit in a similar manner to Open-Transactions. While OT was open sourced from the word go, it also has a commercial counterpart.

Quote
It would need a 'handler' developing, that's pretty much the keystone to the project given that the rest works on the already existing BitCoin feature-set.

What are the server requirements, and is it feasible to port BB into a stand-alone WP plugin?

Quote
multi coin payment is also quite easy to offer

Is this to say that adding additional altcoins would be (relatively) easy? Forgive me, as I am not a coder.

EDIT: Typos

Apologies for the delay, I've been off eating far too much chocolate.

Very interesting point regarding BB into a WordPress plugin (apologies if WP meant something else!) I guess there's nothing stopping a free variant of this concept for small and or non profit use, it could be inserted into a small website widget however I see potential hurdles occur with not the payment, but the processing of 'what next' if that makes sense, ie is a digital good then distributed, if so how would the plugin then behave in order to achieve this? As a standalone WP plugin this is potentially tricky.

Commercially it's difficult to say on what kind of grunts needed, I envisage it on a cluster if a serious player were to adopt, though this would need to be proven up in the future with proof of concept work and testing.

Altcoins, yes I'm also not a programmer and perhaps I'm trivialising the work involved but I would have thought if you can accept and redistribute BTC using this concept then given that most alts, are, to be kind 'very similar' you could do those too, I appreciate this viewpoint may be a little out of whack with reality there Grin

I'm going to do some minor changes to the website and give BitPay a nudge to take a look at this thread in a couple of hours. Once again thanks for your great feedback.
