Congratulations to dust, and thank you for putting your money where your mouth was.
Agreed. Matthew may have weasled out of his bet, but I'll be sticking to mine. Buy something nice with it Dust Serious question: Given that you were heavily invested in pirate, bought up bitcoinmax accounts and had this bet, how much have you lost in this whole thing? I hate to see people losing significant cash... I should come out just about even after it all. In hindsight, the Dust bet was a daft one, but I got caught up in the excitement, and figured Matthew must be pretty damn confident to put all that money on the line. I didn't really consider that he'd use some (tenuous) loophole to get out of it. I clearly have too much faith in people as a whole. Still, I still think his initial reasoning for the bet was a good one. I stand by that.

That's pretty man of you...considering you had no choice... Hah, yes fair enough ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Still, doesn't stop some trying to use vagueness to get out of these things. But yeah, Escrow should be mandatory for these things regardless. I'll shoot the 5BTC to that address shortly, I'm at work and need to remote into my bitcoin machine. Don't panic if it's not there in the next few hours

Even though I've won my 5BTC bet due to Pirate/Matthew's default, I'm withdrawing my bet anyway. Rolo got screwed well enough as it is.
Ah Rassah, I totally forgot about that. I agreed to pay up if I lost, so I still will if you want to post an address.

AS SOON as shares are paid back, likely middle of next week-ish Does this mean you know something pirate related that we don't? Hope so ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif)

Patrick, forget about Micon, he's clearly pyschotic. Keep doing what you do best, you have more respect around these parts than he'll ever have.

Haha, I thought about doing this myself ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif)

hgmichna, we know your opinion, you've stated it 21 million times. Kindly go away now, you're not helping anything other than your ego.

Looks like pirate has added a script to IRC:
<@Pirateat40> Total Accounts Repaid: 22/459 (Subject to require information)
Make of that what you will.

Zyk, please STOP POSTING.
The ignore button really works wonders with zyk. ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) Too bad it doesn't stop people from quoting him. ![Undecided](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/undecided.gif) Doesn't help with the email alerts either ![Sad](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/sad.gif)

I just hope pirate doesnt pull the payb.tc didnt comply with my requests so you all get nothing card
Yep, that's a concern.
|
|
|
It's a pretty moot point right now anyway. Pirate wants all our contact details, Payb.tc doesn't want to hand them over (correctly or incorrectly, I'm not here to judge).
I'd say we're pretty well screwed at this point.

Everyone knew the risks, and everyone is on an equal playing field as far as I'm concerned.
Anyway, how about we worry about that if we actually get anything back at all.

by the way, it is very unlikely that i will be sending pirate the details of bitcoinmax accounts. i think this information is totally irrelevant to *my* account at BST.
While I agree, unfortunately there are also 370 odd people involved so it might not be that clear cut. If people want you to pass on their info, you probably should. Imagine if you don't pass it on and then pirate pays out all accounts that he has info for. People will be.... displeased with you (and the amount of keyboard warriors on this cesspool of a forum is seemingly unlimited). if he pays out all the accounts he has info for, then he'll be paying payb.tc 168300+ btc. he has info for me, and my account. Sure, but the way he's worded it, either he pays everyone individually, or not at all. Legalities of that aside, it would be most annoying to got get paid because we haven't followed his rules, as unlikely as that is aside. Tricky.

It is highly unethical bordering on illegal to hand over users data to a third party without their express permission.
agreed, and following that, it's questionable whether handing over *some* would be useful, if i can't hand over *all*. I'd suggest that you hand over those that give permission, and not those that don't. If people don't want their info handing out, that's their choice. If this by some miracle means that pirate will pay out everyone directly, then that's just less he has to pay out I suppose. On the other hand, if he's using the info to pass on to his alien overlords as a probing list, then those that don't participate will be laughing. Again though, not your problem mate. It you get permission, you're all good. On that note, you have my permission. I'm up for a probing.
