21  Economy / Currency exchange / Expect delays for GBP deposits to Intersango on: February 22, 2012, 12:09:18 AM
We want to inform our users that we are experiencing issues processing deposits to our Lloyds account, it's a technical issue on Lloyds end, and we don't have any time frame for when it's going to be resolved.

At the moment we're using a work around that is not reliable so expect delays.

Withdrawals are working as expected so there are no delays there.

We are in the process of switching to another bank that is able to handle an account as active as ours and expect our service to improve markedly once we do so.

Intersango.

So, to change my login name on the site, I add an email address in "Settings", click the confirmation link in the email, then "make primary"?

How do I remove the old (highly publicised) one? Can a non-primary be used to (attempt to) log in?

Even if your password is simple, we have security measures in place. A brute force attack basically will not work as even with the user's emails you can only try 3 per minute (or maybe 10 per 10 minutes, not sure of the exactly amount but there is a conservative limit)

However, to replace the email log in please follow the following steps

1) Register a new email: When logged in click the settings tab to register a new email with the account.

2) Set the new email as the primary email on the account

3) Email support (FROM THE EMAIL TO BE DELETED) asking for it to be deleted.

We apologize for the the privacy failure and the inconvenience it caused.
23  Economy / Currency exchange / Delays processing deposits and withdrawals at Intersango on: February 16, 2012, 10:36:11 PM
We just want to inform our users that we are currently behind processing bank deposits and withdrawals. We expect to have the backlog cleared by close of business (GMT) tomorrow.

We're very sorry for the delay.
24  Economy / Marketplace / BTC-E reported compromised on: February 14, 2012, 08:05:30 AM
We do accept Dwolla. Paxum has just recently discontinued with all Bitcoin related activity but I don't believe any exchange has lost any funds due to Paxum. We are primarily located in the UK but we have never had problems with our US banking.

We have been pretty compliant with regulations and in a preventative way. Some regulations are completely non-intuitive and when regulations are based off past events instead of around a sound theory or concept, it can get pretty messy. Patrick deals with the regulatory aspects with regards to the US and would be able to answer such questions in great detail.

You can also email us at support@Intersango.com for such inquiries.

What with Trade Hill closing and this instance those unaware should check out Intersango.com.

We don't advertise much but we are one of the biggest exchanges. We are the 2nd longest running exchange. The longest running exchange not to have been compromised. We have never suffered a hack and we are the only bitcoin exchange owned and operated by core bitcoin developers. We have the most competitive rates especially once considering transfer costs to and from Intersango.com

We operate with honesty, and have absolutely no hidden fees. Our long history confirms this time and time again.

We also have always had excellent and fast support!

EDIT: I mention this mostly due to the fact that Patrick Strateman (known on these forums and IRC as phantomcircuit) has repeatedly found security vulnerabilities like the above mentioned. Having strong developers and security specialists does make a huge difference. The whole reason we created Intersango was because we realized this was Bitcoins biggest problem, reliable exchanges.
26  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What's up with Tradehill? Is it time to head for yet *another* exchange? on: February 14, 2012, 04:36:05 AM
One thing people don't realize is there is a ton of liquidity do to competing arbitrage bots which spread the markets liquidity as a whole over to Intersango

We have had a lot of volume today due to the price swings. My guess is the orderbooks will fill up a lot more during business times tomorrow (on the 14th)
27  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: "but it is unclear to them how this currency is supported" on: February 14, 2012, 01:14:32 AM
well with tradehill suspending, "we" are afraid as well i'm afraid, hehe  Angry

We have had the same problem with a bank essentially playing politics and in my opinion discriminating against us. We are very lucky to have not found good banks and banking solutions though.

It is understandable that banks at the moment see Bitcoin at high risk due to the exchange history. The reason Intersango.com entered the market was just that. To have an exchange built run and owned by core bitcoin developers. This is why we have never suffered a hack despite being now the 2nd longest running exchange and the 2nd highest volume exchange.

I suspect with time, and more reliable bitcoin exchanges like ours, eventually payment gateways will begin seeing bitcoin businesses as too lucrative to pass up.

That being said, I personally hold some bit of reluctance thinking Paxum's statement may not be representative of the actual reasons for exiting the bitcoin market.
28  Economy / Speculation / Re: Meanwhile... on: February 14, 2012, 01:06:36 AM
While we are all a little uncertain exactly of the long term nature of the US market. Intersango.com has not had any problems at all operating in the US thus far.

We did have some problems in the UK (not with regulations but with banks). These are all sorted now and we feel that the our UK and SEPA side of Intersango.com is not going anywhere.

Our support is very fast at responding to tickets so if you have any questions just email support@intersango.com

Check out Intersango.com

The 2nd longest operating exchange, the only exchange run by core bitcoin developers and one of the rare exchanges never to suffer a hack.

We provide excellent support answering the vast majority of support tickets within the same day. We also have incredibly competitive rates especially when you factor in the low transfer costs for USD/EUR/GBP and PLN.
30  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: I need a new exchange to use! on: January 30, 2012, 02:52:07 AM
I'd like to recommend Intersango.com. We are the only exchange which is owned, built and operated by core bitcoin developers. We have not ever been compromised and have announced security flaws in other platforms to protect all bitcoin users, not just our own. We have no hidden fees and we do not participate in any dishonest or misleading advertising. We are the only exchange with a proven history of safety and reliability.
