21  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Explain this transaction on: August 30, 2016, 09:37:17 PM
Can anyone help me understand this transaction?

https://blockchain.info/tx/447cb6623db32b5f28c94ac10551802075f053208fe995204a145197e2904bb9

Bitcoin's current #1 address 3Nxwenay9Z8Lc9JBiywExpnEFiLp6Afp8v made a confusing (to me) transaction today that I'd like to understand.

The address sent 333.33 BTC to 17 different addresses and 38,000 BTC back to itself. What could be the reasons for structuring a transaction like this?
22  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Top Bitcoin Donation Addresses on: March 20, 2016, 11:59:50 PM
Many posters correctly pointing out that this ranking does not account for $USD equivalent at time of donation. In a future ranking I will correct for this as well as excluding inactive donation addresses. Thanks for the responses!

24  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / How to calculate total outputs on blockchain on: February 11, 2016, 02:05:13 AM
Seeking help calculating current (or ideally as of 29 Jan 2016) number of total outputs on blockchain in order to be able to understand Blockchain.info's most popular addresses page https://blockchain.info/popular-addresses more fully. Blockchain.info uses each address's total outputs to come up with the ranking. The most current reference I could find was from a letstalkbitcoin post but its dated Dec 2014 and I am hoping to find something more recent.

https://letstalkbitcoin.com/blog/post/the-state-of-the-blockchain-addresses

Quote
A general breakdown is as follows:

Total Blocks: 336,860
Total Transactions: 55,479,774
Total Inputs: 137,314,100
Total Outputs: 152,906,795
Found 58,951,529 addresses which have ever been used.

Thank you for any help or suggestions.

Can everybody see the messages on the block chain (if choose public message type)? Could be a way of public shaming fraud/scam involved addresses.

OK, what did he do with the coins?
Did he keep them or cash them out to get his money for the pizzas?

According to "Jercos", he cashed out when those 10,000 BTC were worth $400 10x ROI http://bitcoinwhoswho.com/jercosinterview

Why would anyone try to launder money using bitcoin? There is literally a paper trail of all their transactions.
