21  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: python OpenCL bitcoin miner on: February 27, 2011, 11:18:52 AM
how could I check for invalid hashes?
poclbm will say "Verification failed. check hardware". You probably don't need to worry, at least I've never seen this from overclocking. Either it generates valid hashes, or the computer freezes. I've got a 5850 running fine at 930 MHz (default is 725). It actually didn't crash before it reached 970, but I had to flash it to put it in a Linux server so I can't really fine tune it.

I mine with overclocked NVidias. Using poclpm.
I slowly tweak them as high as I can with riva, and I do get "Verification failed. check hardware" as I approach (or rather slightly cross) their limit.  I find it is a good test of how high I can overclock my cards.

The source of bitYacht has been sent to you.

My PHP includes are normally:

$abspath/...path.../file.php

where $abspath is set in config. Eg. /home/host/public_html
for the rest, this site doesn't even use CRONs, but the other will need. The interval will largely depend on how I'll code it.

Passwords and keys were blanked out, also mysql dump is just structure. You probably understand it.  Smiley

Thanks for being so up-front with your requirements.
As I see it  - the only way to know for sure is to try - I don't think there will be a problem.

There is other more expensive hosting, with nice sign-up pages and everything, that takes bitcoins that may be more suitable. At the moment I am not competing with them. If there is demand I may move into that market. Now I am just offering this very cheap service for people who just want what I offer.

If you decide you want to see how it goes just apply according to the instructions on the website linked here and I'll set it up.

Hi,

Can I be your second customer?
I'm currently hosting my site in a temporary co-location. Also would be nice to host it within the Bitcoin community taken it's a bitcoin directed site.
I'll have however "heavier requirements" on my next BTC oriented website, namely on email. It's neither to sent publicity (spam), newsletters, but may need to send a lot of emails, depends on the users taken it's an auction/selling system (not operating with that well-known GPLed on 2001 or so German software, but my own).
My current requirements: PHP 4.1+ 1DB MySQL 4+, not that much in space (< 10 Mb). This one you can check, my profile's signature, and decide whether you can host it or not. The next one is still under development.

Hi,

I like the look of your site,
I do not see a problem from what you have said, there might be an issue with processor usage, but then again there might not.
I really offer this service for basic websites, but I do include the features you need. It would probably be ok unless things got REALLY busy for you. Why not e-mail me an application and try it out. We can see how it goes.

Just to be sure:
Here is a little bit from the TOS of my provider...

<snip>
User may not:
a) Use 25% or more of system resources for longer then 90 seconds. There are numerous activities that could cause such problems; these include: CGI scripts, FTP, PHP, HTTP, etc.
b) Run stand-alone, unattended server-side processes at any point in time on the server. This includes any and all daemons, such as IRCD.
c) Run any type of web spider or indexer (including Google Cash / AdSpy) on shared servers.
d) Run any software that interfaces with an IRC (Internet Relay Chat) network.
e) Run any bit torrent application, tracker, or client. Please note that you may link to torrents off server, but may not host or store them.
f) Participate in any file-sharing/peer-to-peer activities
g) Run any gaming servers such as counter-strike, half-life, battlefield1942, etc
h) Run cron entries with intervals of less than 15 minutes
When using PHP include functions for including a local file, include the local file rather than the URL. Instead of include("http://yourdomain.com/include.php") use include("include.php")

If you will provide SSH access for 1 BTC/month - it will be the best choice for me!
I got your e-mail.
I just set you an an account up before reading this post - so I didn't know you wanted ssh.
I am sorry but I don't want to add to the features on this package - I want to just provide practically free webhosting for BTC.
I may be able to offer a more custom package in the future, but for now I want to keep it simple and cheap.
Since you are my first customer, feel free to try out the hosting and let me know what you think anyway if you like.
I could do with a review.... and feedback if there are any issues.
<edit>I am willing to extend the features that I provide - eg more databases or bandwidth, or subdomains, etc if needed - but I don't want to actually add any features like at this time. <edit>

Hi,

The price has changed due to volatility of bitcoins.
I now offer a Donation based BTC / month package, Ideal for small sites, blogs, forums.

Details are here:

http://1btchost.com/

I want to keep this simple and reliable, however if it becomes popular then I may set up automated registration and so-on.

dM

Previously I offered bespoke web hosting for bitcoins in this thread http://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3821.0 I suggest going for the http://1btchost.com/ package now as it is a simpler setup, and it can be customised if desired.

I am in the UK. Also I am from the UK.

Hello!  Grin

I am trying to find ways I can add to the bitcoin economy.
Currently I am offering spare webhosting capacity - details here.

I may be open to participating in UK oriented bitcoin collaborative projects, although I draw the line at sponsored morris dancing.

Smiley I have hosted my share of freeciv Smiley

I am only offering CPanel webhosting for BitCoins at the moment.

What you need is a VPS, or something. I reckon you could get one for a few dollars that would suit your needs - UK VPS's seem to be more expensive - My VPS's are in the states but I have no spare VPS capacity and I am trying to start out with just this simple service to add value to the BitCoin economy with what spare capacity I have available.
I would branch out into VPS's if I had more time to set up the VM's - Maybe if I become a BitCoin Billionaire..... Roll Eyes
But seriously for what you are saying a cheap Debian VPS sounds like the thing.

Sorry I could not be of more help at this time. Maybe in the future.

I am open to offer more functionality. Custom cgi and SSH access would be a possibility. I am open to suggestions and will try to provide what people want.

At the moment I want to stick with what I know well and build on that. Partly because I want to support people and provide value yet I have only so much time to give to support issues. I know that the Cpanel hosting I can provide at the moment is solid.

Also I am inexperienced providing a service for Bitcoins - I want to take things step by step..

If this proves popular I will set up an automated purchase service with, possibly coinpal as well as providing bespoke service. But for now I really want to keep it simple get some trust and be reliable.

29  Economy / Marketplace / WebHosting Available in UK for BitCoins on: February 24, 2011, 02:09:54 PM
Hi.
I am in the UK.
I can supply webhosting with Cpanel and softaculous (including SMF, PHPBB, Wordpress, Drupal, Etc...), to your spec with regards to bandwidth and disk space, for BitCoins. Hosted in a UK datacentre that I rent for other hosting purposes.

PM me with a proposition and we can begin further discussion. Although the datacentre is in the UK, obviously the offer is open to people everywhere.

I am not fixing prices in advance because I want to provide a custom service spec'd to the buyers needs and what they want to pay.

I supply this as-is. I want to add value to the BitCoins economy and I have spare capacity on my servers.

This would be great for small websites or forums or blogs. Not high bandwidth/heavy processing or mission critical deployments until I have built up some trust in the community. My providers also have a policy against IRC, but apart from that any normal website deployment would be acceptable.

I would offer domains, but a best practice is to always have your domains separate from your hosting, so you should register a domain yourself with someone like godaddy.com or whatever to be able to use this service. (I am not recommending godaddy.com - just an example)

I will set up the site to use your domain and give you your own Cpanel login.
I will tell you the nameservers to use for your domain.
You pay monthly either in advance or after a month of service depending on what we agree.
You will need to do everything else to design your site - I assume clients will know how to use Cpanel.
I will provide e-mail or pm support for hosting issues but unless this really takes off I cannot provide detailed tutoring on how to set up sites.
As always - the community will judge this service on it's merits.
dM

I am now also offering a 1btc/month hosting package - details in this thread. which is probably a good introduction.
