21  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Traders who never bother to learn how to trade on: September 03, 2019, 07:44:10 AM
Got in quick too and traded without doing a lot of research first. Initially intended to buy only a fair share of promising tokens that just got listed but I was unfortunately swayed by hype. I ended up selling all of the tokens I acquired too early during a bullish run, got impatient then re-invested so I could buy back the tokens I initially intended to hodl, at a higher price from a bear market. I've learned my mistakes and will try to be more patient next time and try to trade with more knowledge.
22  Bitcoin / Project Development / Batch Payment/Payroll System with Database Management on: September 02, 2019, 10:13:21 AM
Hello. Novice coder/developer here so please be kind.

If it's possible, I'd like to solicit all available info the community can provide that can in a way provide some specific/helpful direction for my vision on how I could go on with the payroll system that I am developing in case my proposal to my superiors to consider crypto payments instead of fiat is given a go signal.

The system that I've developed has been developed purely in Python3 using a pre-existing .mdb accounts database (that I think should definitely be migrated to SQL/MySQL). It basically processes an input list of payees entitled to receive a given payment/wage/incentive for a certain period. Since every batch of payments being processed involve thousands up to millions of payments, initial validation of input list of payees (provided by an independent source) is an integral part of the system with the management of a database of payroll accounts. After validation, automated per account identification for every payee found in the input list follows before a payroll file is generated. With the limits of my coding knowledge, this is how I was able to make my CLI payroll system function so far. I got stuck after database migration since I'm still orienting myself with all these database syntaxes and commands for the report-generation part of the system.

My vision for the development of the system is to later convert the accounts to crypto wallet addresses with obfuscation of names and amounts. After generating/downloading a periodic report, authorized personnel/super-users should however be able to disable obfuscation by using a private/public view key (offline only maybe?) for report or audit purposes.

Would highly appreciate any advice on development or paying for already existing secure online services that could cater to the payroll management requirements above (and maybe more that I am not able to foresee right now).
23  Economy / Economics / Re: The New World Order with Crypto and Blockchain Technology on: August 29, 2019, 10:43:51 PM
The idea of digital currency using blockchain technology was never intended for a central authority to gain control of. Centralization would in fact defeat the purpose why Bitcoin was invented in the first place.
24  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Are You Afraid of KYC? on: August 29, 2019, 04:26:02 PM
Generally speaking, there's very little or nothing to fear in complying with KYC requirements mandated by law/regulations. So one must be aware of laws/regulations governing his/her transactions/would-be transactions. For me, if it's neither mandatory by law nor set by any regulation, I usually start to become doubtful. It is very important for me, even if compliance is mandatory, to know how my private data is going to be protected and to what extent private data will be utilized.
25  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-08-26] Telegram's 300 Million Users Could Soon Be Trading Bitcoin ... on: August 29, 2019, 03:58:53 PM
Knowing that all Telegram chats are centrally stored on Telegram's servers, the fact that Telegram holds the encryption keys capable of reading any conversation stored on these servers because of how the transmission of messages is setup, I have my reservations.
Regarding the privacy, telegram is privacy oriented as long as they principles do not change, i will consider it cautiously pro privacy.

no it isn't

telegram servers know your phone number, and who you're talking to, even if the chat is encrypted. and considering most people just download the Google version, who knows what's really going on in that app

speaking about telegram and privacy:
https://www.zdnet.com/article/hong-kong-protesters-warn-of-telegram-feature-that-can-disclose-their-identities/

tl:dr police adds their numbers in groups and requests the list of all the phone numbers in this group
and imagine that - the most privacy oriented messenger out there sends them
think  twice before trusting mass media and articles about the most secure , privacy oriented etc.
-Because of this added info, it would be a mistake to financially transact/trade with anyone in-app on Telegram.
26  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can a Bank Run Financial Activies on Blockchain Without Crypto Currency ? on: August 28, 2019, 09:45:02 AM
I'm not for anyone coming from the banking/traditional financial industry. But I think they can be given a chance if they come in peace with an 'empty cup'. The cups they carry with them have been filled with all these contamination all throughout the ages!
27  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Becoming Financially Free With Bitcoin on: August 28, 2019, 07:29:32 AM
I think this is one solid plan. I'm working towards more or less the same plan.

Considering rental income as a passive income makes your plan even more solid. I think no other passive income could match with rental income in terms of steady cash flow.

This will leave people who have contributed into the pension system their whole lives left with little or nothing.

(Government) Mmm? There's too many people. We can't afford to pay their pensions anymore. Maybe we could raise the retirement age to 75 so they'll all be dead before they get any of their money back.
- Hilarious mate. But could really happen about a decade into the future, lmao.
28  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Beginner Trader on: August 27, 2019, 06:38:37 AM
My advice is start with Binance. No need for KYC to start trading. Also, before starting you may want to visit the link to Binance Academy. There you will find very helpful instructions and tips for newbie and advanced traders alike.
29  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: AML/KYC Explained on: August 27, 2019, 05:39:37 AM
Kyc is needed for every exchanger, it's for secure financial. Is there any exchanger no need kyc now?
I guess some of the information provided here are already outdated and some dead links need to be updated. I think KYC policies change over time. In my recent experience with Bitfinex and if you scan through their Help center, you will find that they do not require KYC during sign-up, during deposit (up to a certain amount I guess) and trade of most cryptocurrencies. KYC is required if you want to deposit/withdraw fiat, stable tokens/coins and some other selected tokens/coins.

31  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: | NEO Smart Economy⚡Now a Top 10 Cryptocurrency⚡| Official Thread |Updated Aug10 on: March 24, 2019, 03:00:39 PM
It isn't easy to grab in large quantity when prices already touch dollars figures but still something is better than nothing. I also missed it completely but having minimum quantity is better. There is some kind of slow progress in NEO this is what I have impression even things are moving. This is highly busy market where competitors are increasing for almost every project.
Well i do believe on NEO. it is one of the strong crypto in the market no wonder with just basing its market cap holdings. Sometimes it shows a good market price pump meaning that it has a good community. I personally even invested in this project and probably in the near future is that it will be even surpass other strong crypto.

Perhaps its well known to the crypto community that this project possesses strong foundations necessary for its success. This is also one of the best and innovative projects so far in cryptoverse and I will not wonder if its community are getting bigger everyday.
Now NEO is very much underestimated, the capabilities of the platform are very large and have a wide potential for use . I have these coins and I believe in their rapid growth .

The problem is that the tron and other projects attracted the attention of neo investors. Neo had everything to be in the top 5 capitalization projects, but the team missed this opportunity earlier.

Other major projects  may have gotten the attention of other investors but NEO has its own ways of attracting followers in the crypto industry and technologically wise, we can also say that it can stand side by side with other major platforms and compete with them squarely. At least we can all say that indeed, "competition will create more innovation" so to speak. Smiley
32  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: March 24, 2019, 02:54:27 PM
its sophisticated innovation
In reality, innovation does not need to be complicated to be real innovation.
Innovative ideas, when turn into real things, will change the world.
And, there is no requirements on complexity that real innovation has to meet to be realized as real innovation.
It will change the world with its usages, and Ethereum brought its innovation to crypto, right?

Correct! The fact that Ethereum aims to improve upon the shortcomings of BTC and other coins and its introduction to the concept of smart contracts is an amazing achievement itself and I think this is just the beginning because I see a future where it will continue to produce more innovative and useful  features never been imagined before in crypto industry.
33  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: March 23, 2019, 07:36:23 AM
It is just time matter.
Ethereum will grow more as well as its ecosytem for ERC20 tokens.
Together, they will interact to build up very solid and strong ecosystem, Ethereum ecosystem.
We might see something big in the 10th year anniversary of Etherum, let's wait for it.
ETH will grow and we will grow as well.
We believe in Vitalik so with its success we will take part of it, still early now and we are seeing improvement on the system because of the upgrade.
As the team continues to work, we can expect more development soon, and this will add value to the coins we are holding.

Indeed! We can see Ethereum will continue to attract many developers and projects with its sophisticated innovation and massive developer support. I think there is a greater interest on keeping the ecosystem as effective as possible  and becomes more scalable to accommodate more projects within its ecosystem.
34  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Litecoin - a lite version of Bitcoin. Launched! on: March 23, 2019, 07:27:34 AM
We have to see bitcoin hits $10k first before anything else.
And for Litecoin, we knew it that it's following the master's way.
If bitcoin's up, litecoins up too.
$10k is a too distant target for now.
First, bitcoin has to reach the range around $6k, then it might struggle there, corrected for a long time, before can move next to $10k.
Both two targets are distant ones, so far, but bitcoin will break them all.

I think the bulls will make a steady and surely rise on the way to the next ATH most notably for major cryptocurrencies including Litecoin, though I cannot predict when will it happen but eventually it will in the foreseeable future.

36  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: UTRUST on: March 23, 2019, 05:19:50 AM
Is this true that they going to postpone roadmap and we will not see platform in this month? They have been promising to launch platform in Q1 this year, and now they saying that they dont have lisence?
I still do not have accurate information about this delay if it happens it will cause the project to lose a lot of communities in the future. I hope that they will keep their promise and do it quickly because I appreciate their platform. If it is recognized in more countries, Utrust can become one of the best payment projects and I hope it can happen in the future and I will continue to keep UTK for a long time

If we check their Trello.com roadmap - https://trello.com/b/LBdFxyig/utrust-public-product-roadmap , we can see important milestones already done so I guess they need to let the community test it especially its Alpha version for the wallet and other available prototypes or MVP.

I feel pity to this project and its team, maybe they have succumbed to the ill effects of crypto winter but we do hope they could air their side with it and not turn cold on us. Undecided
38  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO][OIO] ONLINE - Together we can change the internet 🔴|🔴 on: March 22, 2019, 06:56:39 PM
Any major announcements, be it a development update or a listing in a new exchange  would make this token's price surge but it must be taken into consideration that there will always be an active development going along with it.

Today OIO tokens volume in exchange is $ 73,596 one of the highest since trading and BitMart provides the highest volume
The right exchange can bring tokens to grow faster

Yes, it seems likely that a listing in a major exchange could very well stimulate a price increase of OIO tokens especially if there will be BTC/OIO pairs available.

This is really an important test case for DASH adoption in Latin America especially in Venezuela and I hope its popularity would spread across the region successfully especially with merchant adoption.
