21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][slock.it][Crowdfund][DAO] IoT meets blockchain on: May 08, 2016, 10:06:36 AM
New to DAO, so may be asking a silly question: is eth DAO different from DigixDAO (DGD) that can be seen on Coinmarketcap ?

a DAO is a type of 'company' structure. an LLC is a type of company structure. there are many LLCs. there will be many DAOs. Digix is one, and "eth DAO" (do you mean the Slock?) is another. they are both DAOs, but they have no legal connection to each other. the future prospects of one should not be assessed based on the perceived success of another. i think that may help you, but your question was slightly ambiguous.

Thanks a lot buddy, yep i was referring to Slock and now I get a bit clearer picture about DAO  Smiley

...
You would have to write about buying bitcoin (bitstamp, bitcurex, btc-e) and then buying cann on Bittrex, as most volume is there http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/cannabiscoin/#markets
Mate it would be better off to write about and follow some other weed coins.
... No one from the core team even bothered to answer you...

Apparently you think it appropriate for an enterprise dedicated to streaming medicinal cannabis to patients to be associated with tobacco advocacy.

.......

Hey buddy, I think you got me wrong...I am not asking you guys to support tobacco usage.
I very well know the ill effects of tobacco and and how it can ruin the lives of many.

I am someone who got very excited when D9 and his team released the plan of providing medicinal marijuana to the needy one's.
Let me tell you upfront that I am no bagholder who is just looking at the market to make some profit out of this coin.
Also I am from a land where even spelling out marijuana could probably put me behind bars  Sad

I just have around 25K CANN which i got when its price was around 70 sats sometime back in 2014(That means i am still in profit if I am looking to sell it).
And i bought it hoping to donate it to someone who could use it to get some relief from the pain they are going through.
Have been patiently waiting all this while so that some day i could see the smile on someone's face.
Was so happy when CANN was used in one of the wellness center for sometime.
Simply can't forget the pic which D9 shared with an old granny with that lovely smile of hers. Respected the effort of D9 and his team a lot then.

But somewhere down the line I feel this team has given into the constant fudders. Even a genuine query by someone is reacted very nastily.
May be I wasn't able to express my emotions properly in my earlier post. I sincerely apologize for that.

I am just requesting CANN team to make their presence felt in this thread from time to time. Feels like its been a long time since we have heard from D9.
Not asking for huge updates or fancy pics that shows the growth of plants that could lead this project into trouble.

Even a simple 'Hi' 'Hello' from D9 makes us feel that this project is on the right track and responsible people are behind it.
From a well-wisher of this project, am i asking for too much??

Thank you for replying.

I am going to be writing about how to buy bitcoins at the same page on my site.

I want to be able to contact the web-designers by posting here, I want to get their ok to repost their info page and give them attribution and links from my page.

I am making a webpage for Cannabis Coin at

http://www.2bacco.com/crowdfunding/index.html

2bacco coin is also accepting cannabis coins during this pre-crowdfunding and crowdfunding,
which I hope you take as good news that someone is accepting Cann,
and I hope to continue to accept cann in future projects with 2bacco coin. Smiley

This coin is dead and has nothing to offer. No one from the core team even bothered to answer you.
Atleast other coins know how to respect its community and have frequent interactions , here they simply ignore you.

I heard today is big day for this coin..

 Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

lmao yeah right, like every year  Roll Eyes - btw as usual you're late the coin already pumped and dumps before 4/20.  it used to dump on 4/19 ha, but now they just dump it sooner.

like i said, cann went to shit with all the other weed coins awhile ago.  unless they can actually integrate into dispensiaries/real world market they are useless turds worth fuck all.

In spite of all the hype surrounding 4/20, CANN was still the worst performing weed coin in the market.
With no real updates and growth what so ever, don't think this coin is going anywhere.

Initial ideology/purpose of the coin was good, but midway through the journey they have figured out that THEY CANN'T  Roll Eyes

price is going low , shit i already bought 22k i think i will sell it and get out

Things are just getting started mate...soon it will be listed on polo too. And with all the other features waiting to be introduced, its just getting ready to start the rocket  Cheesy

Currently i feel we are in accumulation phase, before the big bump, that's why the rates are low
27  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SHIFT] SHIFT | OFFICIALLY RELAUNCHED on: March 30, 2016, 07:43:09 PM
relaunch allowed me to mine more coins than usual thanks lol

Most welcome!

As a general update: we reached ~50% of the median old hashrate a few hrs after launch, 100% about 12hrs ago this morning and are now going strong with twice the hashrate than before the relaunch.

hope the price will follow, because it's low

Price has only one direction to go....and thats up..up  Grin

30  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XCP] Counterparty - Pioneering Peer-to-Peer Finance - Official Thread on: March 19, 2016, 10:23:22 PM
Just going to repost this again for some visibility

I think it's important for to get some visibility in the main altcoin discussion section, rather than be confined to this subsection, which many do not visit. We don't really get much new exposure. Other altcoins such as Monero, Ethereum and MAID are very visible there with prominent community discussion threads, inviting opportunities for new members unacquainted with the tech to peruse and  promoting intelligent discourse.

Perhaps someone could start a Blockchain 2.0/Smart contracting thread examining and discussing the various platforms available for tokenizing and representing assets on chain, and then introduce the angle of smart securities.?

I would certainly contribute to explain all about how counterparty fits into the ecosystem, how it compares to other offerings, strengths & weaknesses and what exactly it brings to the table. I'm newbie member so I think it's better coming from someone established but will probably make it soon if no-one else does

nobody made a thread so I took the initiative to try and give it a shot.

It would be great if anyone wants to contribute anything. Talk about the reasons you invested, how counterparty fits into current crypto landscape, it's strenghts, it's weakness.. thoughts on short/medium/long term future price action or anything! the main thing is the thread is more visible.

>>>The thread is here

Poloniex deposit is not working, too.  Roll Eyes Deposited some XCP 13 hours ago but it is not shown up on deposits, not even on pending deposits. Some similar experiences?

"The XCP is under maintenance" on bittrex Huh

Have a feeling XCP team is getting ready for the big launch  Roll Eyes

Blockchains can do much more than just payments. One interesting observation is, in our quest to make the Bitcoin blockchain do more than remittances, we have to abandon BTC as the unit of account. Take colored coins, Counterparty, Ethereum, or sidechains for instance. None of these systems uses actual BTC as the unit of account. Not even sidechains will use the BTC unit of account. Instead they have to invent a brand new way to lock up the BTC unit of account and release an alternate unit of account that isn't as limited.

And if you believe the Bitcoin blockchain is the strongest chain, but aren't comfortable with hard forking Ethereum into Bitcoin Core, (never gonna happen) then systems like Counterparty are a valid approach.

Quote
"My personal opinion is that XCP-style meta-consensus systems are the next generation from here, at least as far as Bitcoin-based protocols are concerned". -- Vitalik Buterin, Ethereum lead dev

Quote
"So, Counterparty sucks because it is too powerful?
I was involved in the colored coins project for a few months before I moved to my position that XCP-style systems are strictly superior to CC in basically every possible way (and moved to Ethereum full-time, but I will say that Ethereum is not superior to CC in every possible way because it is not directly based on Bitcoin so doesn't have as nice interoperability properties" -- Vitalik Buterin, Ethereum lead dev

Quote
Our compatibility with Ethereum smart contracts is at the virtual machine level, so it doesn't matter what language (Serpent, Solidity, LLL, etc.), you write the contracts in---they'll run on both Counterparty and Ethereum the same. Between the Counterparty and the Ethereum communities, we'll figure out what languages we want to write contracts in and develop those. -- Adam Krellenstein, Counterparty lead dev

So we have a system which is entirely compatible with what is arguably Ethereums biggest selling points (turing complete dApps/smart contracts) with the real negative of slower block times but the real positive of a stronger, battle tested chain with a comparatively long established ecosystem.

And yet..

CounterParty current market cap: $2.70 Million
Ethereum current market cap:      $1.37 Billion

Ethereum is worth 378 times as much as CounterParty, ($1.35 Billion more!) Personally I think that disparity is too large to remain forever.  XCP is valued around 10 times less than of it's ATH. If Ethereums vision of programmable money in the form of smart contracts takes off, then we will have a wealth of code ready to be ported across to run on bitcoin blockchain too.

The only choice to run them on the bitcoin blockchain is Counterparty. CounterPartys gas costs are deductible in XCP which is removed from supply upon contract execution, rewarding XCP holders. XCP is also deflationary due to being debited when registering 'premium' alphanumeric asset names, and so far near 50k assets have been brought out of nearly 500k total transactions.  With a fairly limited total supply (2.6MM) of coin, and a new well-funded fintech offshoot in the form of Symbiont incorporating CounterParty in their stack an uptrack in asset registration and usage of smart contracting when the feature is greenlighted on main-net could feasibly raise the price up an order of magnitude back to previous heights, at least.

Can't believe people are ready to sell at this rate...its simply accumulation going on by whales before the price shoots northward
35  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][XCP] Counterparty - Pioneering Peer-to-Peer Finance - Official Thread on: March 17, 2016, 07:25:40 PM
XCP sell orders at exchanges: Poloniex ~ 80,000 and Bittrex around 3300.
So total coins up for grabs is just about 84,000

Compare this to the available supply of ETH, so easy guess where this one is heading Roll Eyes
