21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: $NUC Nuclearcoin takeover on: April 30, 2016, 11:43:31 AM
Hi Everyone,

it seems all of the initial ideas we put forward were overwhelmingly unpopular. This has lead us to rethink our plans for the coin as we want this to be a community orientated coin and if we go down this route we may lose that.

The things that we aren't going to do -

increase the supply

hold a premine for community lead projects.

Things we are going to do -

A rebrand in line with the new idea (see below)

stopping staking and revert to a POW strategy

The new idea revolves around creating an asset backed currency. We have chosen to go with silver as our asset. An order is being placed for the NUC marketcaps worth in silver at a rate of (5000 sats, 5btc) as our starting base. A new POW phase will begin with a whole coin costing roughly the price of a gram of silver to mine (around £0.40 or $0.58) people who mine have three options with the coins they mine:

they can hold

they can sell the coin for a gram of silver to be delivered to them

they can give the coin for us to sell and as a result we increase the silver reserve behind the coin making each coin worth more.

The current coins are not worth a gram of silver but with time and the gradual increase of coins and the amount of silver reserve, the price will increase as the proportion of coins worth (mined at) the rate of a gram of silver increase.

We would recommend putting 33% of everything you mine into building up the silver reserves. This benefits the coins you already hold as they become worth more and were bought or mined at a cheaper price which makes these coins precious.

While this economy runs for the first 6 months, we will work on releasing as many services and opening up the coin to as many platforms as possible and at the 6 month mark we are hoping to launch a Non-Profit Organisation with the task of managing and providing services around the silver reserve. At this point we want to follow a similar model to bitgold but with silver and introduce things like credit cards and increase the spending activity of the coin.

We are still looking for people to get involved in coin development and web development so if you want to get involved then pm me

Why the 1:3 ratio swap? Well we feel the supply in the long term future will limit the coins potential growth and a 1:3 ratio should compensate for any inflation caused to early holders. Currently the marketcap of this coin is less than $4000 which is almost too small for a cryptocurrency. At the time of the swap there will be around 320k in circulation and if the coin can maintain a 10k satoshi price the marketcap will be around $12,000 and for those who just want out this should provide a breakeven or small profit.

It doesn't work this way. It's not going to compensate for anything, you are creating inflation and price will go down 3x(but current holders will get 3x more coins). Don't focus on swaps and marketcaps because its not going to change anything. This coin needs a business model. It's pretty obvious that with the limited resources this community have, you won't develop any groundbreaking features so it's a wise choice to go with some kind of service on top of this coin (like messaging app).

my point was that before the coin was abandoned by the original developer it was trading with a $25k market cap, its currently trading at a $4k marketcap with the coinswap and an active development team then a 12k marketcap is more than reasonable to expect.

the reason for an increase in supply is for things like the messaging app in the future, when we do release that we will go all out to increase its userbase, I'm not saying we will reach the size of facebook but could you imagine if there were 100k coins to distribute round all its users? people psychologically prefer whole numbers and if the scale of the network and applications expands i dont want people dealing with 0.0000's.

Can you explain why your developer thinks the code is poorly written? I'm sure you have an example..

This source has been done 10x better then a regular shitclone.. So why do you want to swap it? And with an extra premine? Or is it because you need a premine?  Roll Eyes

I don't like the name change either.. Why change names?  Huh

Sorry man, but a premine on a coinswap which is a take-over is a no-go for me..

My advice.. Start building some services and a community first.. Before you think of such drastic, unnecessary measures..

I spoke to him about this beforehand and he is happy to provide examples

the premine is for community projects with full transparency, if you were to see the premine address get withdrawn from without a reason and who it was for then you could go ahead and dump the coin and yell scam but that wont happen. These coins will go to people from the community who get involved and contribute work to features or services around NUC. if its a huge issue then we can give it to an escrow and they can hold the premine and only release coins as required to pay those who contribute.

I get what you mean about not starting fresh but theres the opportunity to do something good here. There are a lot of people who invested 1btc+ and right now they could cash out for about a 10th of that. I'm the only person to try and take this coin in a direction and i doubt anyone else will (unless they buy up as many coins as possible when bagholders dump because no one is taking it anywhere)

I waited all week for this and was hoping for a block explorer and redone ANN with some new graphics.

I do not see the need for new source. Everything has worked perfect so far. POW was smooth, POS is smooth, and the transactions are fast.

Creating a new pre-mined coin over a coin that was pre-mined (possibly dumped by the run away developer) is a no go for exchanges. I can't picture any new exchange adding the new swapped coin. It will sit at nova exchange and be dead.

I vote to keep the name Nuclear. I can't see Nuncius catching on.

The current plans will not get this coin anywhere.

well if im honest that just sounds like you wanted some basic stuff so you could shill and say "look NUC is back from the dead, everyone buy!"
The coins current format doesn't fit the needs of the development path so thats why a switch is better for the long term.

the original dev had a 3500 NUC premine, so lets not get carried away here because thats less than 3btc and 3.5% of the supply, it wasn't a substantial amount to have any real influence on price. When the coin reaches full supply our premine will amount to 10% and at that point most of it will have been distribute into the economy by those we pay for thier services to the coin. As I've said our premine can be held in escrow until its required to pay those who contribute for their service.

Right I like the name Nuclearcoin too  Smiley

i think first interest of nuclearcoin is low supply so no need to change that

Nuclearcoin is a weak name to name a cryptocurrency. it was only used to justify the ridiculous stake rates and say "wow the staking is going nuclear" or whatever. It doesn't say anything about the coin, are we developing a coin that will assist in nuclear energy and technology? no.

If you really really don't like the plan with the coin then sell your bags at a loss and be on your way. If there were any legitimate issues with the plan then i would understand and we could make some changes but everything ive outlined is justified and functional. I'm the only person to have stepped up and tried to get something done so unless you are willing to step up yourself and take the lead then the Nuncius rebrand and development path is here to stay.

23  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: $NUC Nuclearcoin takeover on: April 22, 2016, 06:01:27 AM
I'm glad to provide the community with an update about the plan for nuclearcoin. I've been speaking to those who have come forward and its been decided that we rebrand the coin to Nuncius. There's a few reasons for this as follows

- We can maintain the $NUC ticker thats been used on exchanges and twitter when people talked about the coin . This way we keep some of the brand recognition built up so far

- Nuncius is an old word for messenger. From everyone thats come forward I feel we have suitable tools to go down a route which focuses on global communication in many forms.

The person I am working with on the actual coin will be starting from a new source, he looked at the original code and felt it was poorly written which could cause problems in the future, the new coin will have specifications to those below:

- A swap for all current holders at a 1:3 ratio.

- A premine of around 100k coins (explained below)

- A mineable and stakeable amount of around 650k, bringing the total supply to 1 million.

The coin was trading at a $25,000 market cap before the original developer abandoned the coin so there I think that should be more than achievable. I'd like to think that everyone will stick around though as I think we can become a really strong community but we need to accommodate for everyone in the abandoned nuclearcoin boat.

Premines are always a bit of a sticky subject in cryptocurrency so we aim to be as transparent as possible. The premine will sit in an address that we let everyone know and coins will only be transferred when being used for community projects which we will inform everyone of how much and where it is going to. We are hoping to get as many projects going on around the coin as possible and this will provide lucrative incentive for people to get involved. Also these projects should increase the use and value of Nuncius so these will be worth more to those who receive them for their services. If there are any projects that people want to happen around the coin then they should let me know and we can get the ball rolling.

The shorter term plan for the coin is as follows:

-Forming a team chat for those who have come forward about development and contributing just so we can figure out exactly what everyone can do.
-Improving the announcement page
-launching a website
-creating more of a social presence around the coin (bringing back the twitter, doing giveaways etc.)
-a slack community (until we launch an NUC forum)
-successfully carry out the rebrand
-get listed on further exchanges and services
-set the ball rolling for community projects

some of the things we would like to do in the longer term

-create our own messaging application
-launch a mobile messaging app with a focus around tipping and sending money to family and friends.
-Making these applications secure with end to end encryption

For these we will need help and there will be bounties avaliable. If you have any skills or services you can contribute for the coin the please come forward. I want this to be a strong community focused coin because I believe thats the only way to succeed – with the help of everyone. We can prove that Nuncius is not just another shitcoin and that it can be something to watch in the future.

24  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: $NUC Nuclearcoin takeover on: April 19, 2016, 04:53:44 PM
Why do we have to move to a new chain?

I'd like to rebrand the coin and as a blockchain the current one is nothing special essentially just cheap clone. The move would be to something with a bit more potential especially with DAO's like etheruem around these days.

really this is a great coin to taker over, the dev left early enough
and couldn't have made very much on his dump.
i don't think to many people got hurt providing we have a successful
takeover

few questions

1. does the original dev have any control over anything at this point?

2. what are the steps that need to happen to have complete control over coin

3. what skills does bushaski have (not judging, organization is a skill )
just curious how much well have to be farmed out or partnerships forumed

happy bushaski has stepped up ,personally i have no needed skills, but willing to
help with donations for bounties

1. the twitter account but apart from that no control over the network except for maybe running some of the nodes.

2. making sure we have others running nodes so that the network doesnt go down if the original dev shuts his off

3. management, experience in cryptocurrency, btc and connections. I'm not really a coder but i know the ins and outs of cryptocurrency and its concepts. If i cant do something then i will let people know. I do have the resources to negotiate payment for bigger jobs but for smaller aspects im hoping people help out because they are invested in the coin

I will be helping with advertising and promotions. we are putting a team together. this is going to be a community effort.

that sounds great and when team is put together ,it would be nice to see their bitcointalk names
posted in new OP with there job descriptions
transparency is very important ,especially on a take over

good to see people stepping up

I am putting together a team and an announcement with the plan and members will be up as soon as i have things finalised. The main thing is crypto developers, I am talking to someone who shares similar vision and has the skills to carry out some interesting stuff but i would feel a lot more comfortable moving forward if i had a few others to help him out and carry out more straightforward tasks in that area.

25  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: $NUC Nuclearcoin takeover on: April 19, 2016, 12:51:03 PM
as far as i can tell you are the only one that has made a effort
anyone else so far is just causing trouble,if people are serious about helping
i,m sure they well pm you and not just randon posts
just keep trying to move forward, this shouldn't be a hard coin to rescue

getting the Block explorer going would probably be a good start

anyone able to help out with the block explorer? its only for a temporary time until we move to a new chain
26  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: $NUC Nuclearcoin takeover on: April 19, 2016, 06:11:21 AM
I think both developers should each start a thread
and see who the community follows. Or, fight it out
in the octagon

if anyone is deadly serious about taking over the coin they should pm me to discuss. I'm happy to go with what the community wants but I feel like I'm the only person to have made an effort so far to takeover
27  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: $NUC Nuclearcoin takeover on: April 18, 2016, 09:11:06 PM
The meme side of things?
Who do you think you're talking to?
I'm a seasoned shitcoin dev.
I was hiding premines long before you bought into my tops.
You are hereby fired from the dev team.

id like this to be more than a shitcoin so i fire you (sorry)
28  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: $NUC Nuclearcoin takeover on: April 18, 2016, 04:42:21 PM
I dont really understand what you are doing Buchaski.
Pretty sure I'm the one who's in charge of the community take-over.
You have no authority here, please go make Nuclearcoin-Classic!

looposhi, im terribly sorry about the miscommunication, perhaps we can work together and you can take care of the meme side of things?

thank you for this i will add these to the OP.

When I've got the takeover in order ill be making a better announcement page, its more about letting everyone know whats happening than making it look flashy right now

price is going up _some news?

block explorer being released today, at that point everyone will know the project is legit so i think we could see 50k+ if the support is there

its 200k marketcap dude, coinmarketcap calculate with old supply.
its because des did a coin swap, right now there are like 1.6 million des in total.

thanks for letting me know, has someone contacted coinmarketcap to get them to change that? is there a des block explorer with updated figures?

Coinmarketcap needs the block explorer to update.

is there a bloc explorer?

DES to the 40k. Let's go DES Smiley

40k would make up for my 8BTC theft, GO DES!!!!!!

I wish the best to you, When u sell, try not to crash the market Smiley Also we don't know what kind of volume we will have, if its low its going to be hard to dump 8btc...The value might even drop some at first, there's usually scare tactics before a pump Smiley

I have no intention in selling just yet, this coin is just getting warmed up.  Wink

Just a little reminder to all reading this, enable 2fa, i didn't and it cost me 8BTC Tongue

people are forgetting this coin only has a $20k marketcap and hopes to develop zerocash contracts, 250k marketcap minimum
