Pyramining: Any chance we can move to eligius? Steadier payouts would be better all around. Plus, they merge mine nmc that would help offset the management costs.

Usually on the average, P2Pool is the pool who yelds the maximum revenue. Unfortunately during the last month it has been very unlucky (that's why it's taking longer than predicted for filling the hole). Since the average luck should point toward 100%, I wouldn't switch to another pool. In the past months there has been a (long) period of time with luck at 120% ...

Status update: first 5TH/s have been installed. I will be able to install about 5TH/s week, maybe slightly more. There is a small "hole" to recoup due to the power usage of the previous generation ASICs. In a few days, payouts could start coming again.
I will post some more details in the next days. I have been very busy making everything up and running.

Pyramining, as I told you before, I want to quit. If you are honest man, you will change my payout address. I have provided you a confirmation that the account belongs to me.

I am sorry for the delay but I was very busy in deploying new hardware and debugging software. I will get in touch with you using PMs.

While I agree with the move to give new deposits the actual hashrate they ordered, I disagree with the new deposits need to be given priority. Old/New can be paid out in tandem.
[...]

I am afraid I have been misunderstood (or I didn't explain that very well). All the deposits will be paid, proportionally to their hashrate. I was just meaning that the NEW deposits will get the full hashrate paid for, that will be released to the pool upon completion. It's the opposite of the old situation where the hashrate was released to the pool earlier.

And please dont change the bonus structure for any existing accounts (and preferably not for the queued amounts).  We all signed up for the current T&C.  Any new rules, whatever you decide, should only be implemented for deposits made after the rules are published.

The bonus structure for existing accounts will not be affected.

Can't say I'm too happy about that.  I'd rather older accounts get priority (as they should).

Older accounts would get priority if the "bonus to the 10 oldest accounts" will be implemented.

I agree, I feel like I am getting a little bit of the shaft for believing early on, and giving money.

I am open to listen to advices, if you think there is a better way to handle things, make your proposal. I think that adjusting rules to ease new investments will help everyone, otherwise the steep difficulty increase would slow everything down further.

agreed.  I also dont believe there will be significant new deposits, even when new infrastructure is installed, so we cant rely on new deposits to pull us out of this one.
I would rather any extra hashing is split across all old accounts, benefiting all and not just a few.  Smaller accounts will not benefit more than larger accounts as they will receive less.  I am not convinced that we will complete old accounts quickly enough to have any real effect and I would rather have a small percentage of something than wait in line for a large percentage of nothing.

Hmm.. I think also this point of view is right. I will run a few simulations.

A few considerations that I want to share with you about the new policies:

Old mining hardware (~5Th/s) is not performing anymore. If we do apply the new rules to new accounts only, older accounts will receive only a few small payouts because the hardware gets obsoleted too fast following the mining difficulty increase.

The solution I thougth to this problem, is to dedicate as much hashing power as possible to new accounts, so they will be able to become completed quickly. If the difficulty increase doesn't bring us new surprises, the hardware will still be profitable for a little longer, and older accounts will be able to get payouts. It should be fair because it encourages new deposits, and it will help older ones.

About the additional bonus for the oldest 10 accounts, I chose 10 because only a few accounts have large amounts absorbing all those bonuses. The only alternative I can think of, to improve this, is to split the mined amount of the hardware not bound to any deposit (the hashing power of completed accounts) in equal parts (not depending on the hashing power) and assign it to all the "old" accounts. While the first rule would benefit oldest deposits (those who waited more than others), the second would benefit smaller deposits because they will be completed first and everyone will get payouts starting from day 1.

My accounts are showing funky stats as well.
I have 1 @ 47.xxbtc that is showing 11.5mhs in the large profile stats center left, but still showing a more "reasonable" 12.6gh on the right.
We should know whats what over the next week or 2, he should have gotten some hardware today and he should be ready to start bringing them online.

Don't care about those numbers now, I am still working on the changes. Soon you will see correct stats.

New rules apply to new accounts only, except for the bonus payments to the 10 oldest deposits that will be delivered to the absolute oldest active deposits.

New rules (draft):

  • The hashing power is distributed proportionally to the power bought with each deposit, and it does not get averaged anymore. Deposits will get their real hashing power instead of being a part of the whole pool.
  • The hashing power left (completed accounts) is distributed to the 10 oldest and still active deposits as a bonus, to speed up completion.
  • The % of mined coins distributed to upper levels (sponsors) is changed. Before it was 15% to 1st level, 7.5% to second level and 7.5% to third level. It will become: 5% first level, 2.5% second level, 2.5% third level.

So how much hashpower do you estimate we'll have, once you're back up to what you consider full mining again?

At least 30TH/s are going to be installed.

About the PMs, I am answering everyone... before the payouts will start flowing again, every issue will be fixed.
33  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: http://www.pyramining.com/ - Discussion thread (no advertising here) on: March 15, 2014, 12:40:33 AM
Updates:
I'm receiving the ordered parts for assembling the miners. Starting from Monday I should be able to put new asics online and gradually activate queued deposits. It will take about 2 to install all the ASICs.

During the last weeks I worked on the prototypes and written the software, and now it is ready.

I am also testing the rules for new accounts, I will publish the changes during the weekend.

I just added the option to change the payout address of an account.

There is also a "loop check", so if you try to create a circular chain, the new address is considered invalid.
35  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: http://www.pyramining.com/ - Discussion thread (no advertising here) on: February 16, 2014, 09:05:00 PM
This is great.
I do not wish to sell my account, but I would like to change the payout address for one of my chained accounts. I went a little overboard with the chain.
Will you be supporting chained accounts when you enable changing of payout address for accounts.

I am still finishing the payout address change feature, of course it will be enabled for chained accounts too.
36  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: http://www.pyramining.com/ - Discussion thread (no advertising here) on: February 16, 2014, 04:04:19 PM
I just extended the "sell" feature, now it works also for chained accounts. If you want to sell an account which deposit address is another account, you will be asked to sign it with the reward address of the last account of the chain. If you sell an account in the middle of a chain, the rewards address of all the accounts that point to the sold account will be changed to the rewards address of the last account of the chain.

I did several tests before releasing this feature, however I invite everyone to check that results are correct. In case something goes wrong, please contact me.

I forgot to mention that you are seeing no rewards since BTC production is really close to costs. BTC value dropped (need more BTC to cover costs) and p2pool is currently a little bit unlucky. New hardware is really needed at this point.

I am also considering to move equipment in a nearby country to reduce power costs. It won't change much, but it will still improve the revenues someway.
38  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: http://www.pyramining.com/ - Discussion thread (no advertising here) on: February 16, 2014, 02:54:31 PM
The website will come online as soon as I will finish reworking, however for all existing accounts everything keeps working as usual. It's just not possible to open new accounts for now (not a real issue since new hardware is not available yet - I will update as soon as there are new info).

I want to prevent people to just open accounts and depositing without reading and knowing what they are doing and thereafter coming here to complain.
39  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: http://www.pyramining.com/ - Discussion thread (no advertising here) on: February 16, 2014, 02:48:04 PM
I have been requesting assistance, PM since thread 114!!!  And why is this so difficult? What's wrong with a simple sell with authentication?  Also have YOU tried to sell?  I bet it won't work!!

I don't understand why people do not read instructions. Selling an account is as simple as:

1) Choosing the withdrawal address from your own wallet.
2) Copy and paste "I_sell_account_*******_for_*****_BTC", without quotes, without spaces...
3) Sign the message.
4) Copy and paste the signature.

Every sell request until now has been fulfilled properly. If you can't follow these simple steps I don't know how to help you. Read again the instruction and try, if it doesn't work either you are doing the wrong procedure or the wallet you are using is flawed.

i cant sell my account, says invalid signature. Could you give me an exampleof how to do it well?

Use the function for signing messages in your wallet. Insert your payout address (it must be an address generated by your wallet - you need to own the private key), copy and paste the message into the message area, it must be as is, without leading or trailing spaces, and then sign the message. Copy and paste the resulting signature. If you still have problems, do the same procedure and paste the signature in a PM, I will manually check it.
