21  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What are the most popular cryptocurrencies for investors? on: January 27, 2020, 11:49:10 AM
Hi Everyone!

I was recently asked the question "what are the most popular cryptocurrencies for investors?" This led me to take some time to investigate what assets were the most popular on our portfolio management application. After evaluating tens of thousands of portfolios, we published this brief study.

The Cryptocurrencies People are Actually Holding

I'd love for you to give it a read and let me know if you were surprised by any of the assets that were popular.

I can't wait to discuss!
I like how the study shows which top coins are hugely pumped by a small % of capital and user. This is why market cap means nothing basically. You get these oversized creations that got artificially pumped and will only be making lows for the years to come. BNB and ETH makes sense as they are the only useful coins as for now. The rest is 'will be super useful some day in the future' category and this is quite risky option to me as people tend to go tulip mode on these things for long without devs showing any real progress. Who cares they've been collecting money for 2 years and not delivering, it's the internetz and EOS is sure to come, right? They said it would.

23  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoins profit ... Which altcoin is best for profits? on: January 25, 2020, 10:46:59 PM
Good choice imo Grin I'm all for ETH and BNB as they are the biggest useful coins. There would be even no need for BTC imo if those 2 were out there. Probably more money is being circulated daily via BNB fees then there is genuine cash spendin on BTC network. If you want to hold something for long it has to have some value besides of speculation. Anything that is worthy on it's own (has a purpose, people have reasons to swap it etc) will behave 100x better in times of doubt or general perceived long term. People will speculate on anything, so let's make more by trading shit that grows besides of seasonal attraction.
24  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Can Altcoin Price Be Good In 2020 ؟ Is it true? on: January 25, 2020, 10:42:53 PM
I really don't think 2020 will be any better than 2019 was. Maybe some rally, maybe a little bit of optimism but besides of BTC halving there is nothing on the horizon that would bring the end of bear momentum. 2017 and 2018 were really the time of ETH and ICOs which bumped cryptos back to the attention but there is literally nothing new right now going on. This is seasonal fun for people and retail players just goof around until they go broke so there has to be entertainment in this 'investment'. Kickstarterish idea was good and brought a lot of hype but we need moooooore new stuff that could bring people attention for a new alt season to happen.
25  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will 2020 be bearish as well? on: January 25, 2020, 10:39:29 PM
2020 should be bearish as well because look around you Cheesy everyone is holding bags waiting for prices to go up.. there is nobody who wants to buy at this point. Let alone for more than $20000 which is needed for a new ATH. Sentiment of people needs way more time to reset. If you think about your friends or colelagues who know about btc, most of them bought some already, probably didn't make great money and most likely being down on it. It takes time to regain confidence after you failed with something. People need to talk themselves into being greedy again.
26  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Reasons to be bullish on BitcoinSV on: January 25, 2020, 03:47:13 PM
This is such a joke. What is BSV being used? For scamming? I mean, wtf seriously. If anyone is so blind they can't see what is going on then I am really starting to doubt human race.. This is one big feud that is going to end up in courts and the guy behind it will be a clown and meme forever. There should be huge red alert against this coin and It is beyond my imagination how anyone would want to waste time upon it. It is not preferred solution for either cash or dapps. It is just bad at what it's supposed to be doing and only reason is the media shitstorm created by the man..
27  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Waiting for the rise of all altcoins on: January 25, 2020, 03:10:32 PM
yes that's right, bitcoin and altcoin at the start of this year were green, slowly the price of altcoin going  to grow maybe in the next few months many altcoin prices will go up high if this is a bullish trend
Its good to think positive even there's no assurance if the market will turn bull as time passes for this year. We cant say for how long we're going to wait until we see some improvement, its been a while since we last witness the alts to rise. But one thing is for sure alts like the well established coins can make it to recover once the market started to improve but other alts that has no uses will remain at the bottom hence make sure that you're holding altcoins that is worth investing.
There is unfortunately no such thing as thinking positively in trading. If you let your emotions dictate your decision this is 100% way to lose the money. You need to keep to your rules and execute it no matter what coz if you let positive/negative thinking into it you are just becoming one of the 93% losers. People were optimistic now, and only got caught in 10-15% rally bull trap that happened lately when their euphoria made them buy BSV or DASH. Wait, be patient and observe.
28  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Which altcoins are you keeping in your bag for 2020-2021 ? on: January 25, 2020, 01:58:26 PM
Hello everybody. I have made a bag for 2 years to buy myself car and house Smiley I have different 8 tokens and I will try to reach 70x at least.

Ocean
Nex
Tezos
Chainlink
Neo
Ontology
Chilliz
Conceal Network.

I wonder that what are you keeping in your bag for 2020-2021 ?

I will be holding BNB and besides of that not much. Will be mroe than happy to do some trading on other shit but no way I'm holding anything else. This is the only coin that I see being used for anything real. If consider projects that are not even finished getting pumped it makes me smile Smiley People don't need smart contracts or smart money. They need simple money they like and they can trust and they can SPEND.
29  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Cardano a steal at current prices ? on: January 25, 2020, 01:00:52 PM
ADA has always been a developers favorite type of thing but they have failed the utility thing for years now and that is why they couldn't get any higher. They have to stop focusing on making the best coin possible in technology sense and should start focusing on what they can do to get ada accepted in many more places. If there is nowhere that accepts cardano ever, whats the point of having one? That is literally how people started to think, its cool to buy and sell but can I spend it as well?

If there is no spending, why would people buy it aside from as an investment, people are looking for coins that have other purposes than just buying and selling nowadays. Sure there could be some small time things I am not aware of but compared to big ones like btc, eth, eos so forth ada is not used at all.
Pretty much this. Adoption and real cases of people USING the coin is what's needed for growth. Retail play money is mostly gone already as tons of people gambled off their savings and won't do it again for the next few years. Besides of bubble aspect of cryptos which is kind of over now, there has to be a reason for people to hold them besides of speculation. Fiat is worthless right? Everybody knows that. But guess what, people want to have it (not always spend), so it keeps it value.
30  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Binance price prediction for 2020 on: January 25, 2020, 10:38:26 AM
According to WalletInvestor website, BNB is expected to rise 85% in 2020. The price will reach $24.1 by the end of this year.

TradingBeasts believes binance price will have a slow growth. The price will reach only upto $19.

CryptoGround, however, believes that BNB will decrease down to $6.4202.

Do you agree?
BNB is one of a few coins that actually have a use case so if it doesn't grow then there is something fundamentally wrong with this industry. Binance user base is growing and all of them are using BNB, so it is like auto-fulfilling BTC adoption prophecy which actually happens for this one. There is no better price stimulator than many people in need of a possession of the same asset.
31  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: A good advice for every traders. on: January 23, 2020, 11:53:06 PM
Usually, we are trading with market, and we have our own trading logic. But , after you are trading for a long time , you will find you are trading with yourself and the biggest enemy is you.

You may have a good trading logic , and you always earning money from the market , but you are still afraid of lossing, am i right?

Every trader should believe in his own trading logic just like a belief, you can't move it. Lossing are not terrible and you should like it.

So i have some advices:

1. make sure you are believe in your trading logic
2. record the reason when you open trade
3. take profit and stop loss strictly
4. back to the records when you close trade, and think why you are earning or lossing
5. according to the records , if you find something wrong with your trading logic, fix it
6. add your trade into a trade journal (advice from @GreatArkansas)
7. do the things 1-6 above again

Does any trader record the reason of opening trade? And how do you guys practice it? Let's talk about it.
Some thoughts:
ad1. Get a strict set of rules.. don't try to rationalize everything as you can always find a logical reason to follow with your action
ad2. this is similar to 1. get a set of rules and simply don't trade if the criteria are not met
ad3. stop loss is meh, take profit based on your set of rules
ad4. thsi is quite obvious, you gotta learn to improve. if you don't, then others do and outplay you. staying in place is moving backwards.
ad5. is the same as 4
ad6. journal is a must. if you don't have your notes online on the chart then you need to keep it in a journal. it is a good idea even if you keep other type of reminders.
ad7. let's Wink
32  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Has the crypto market reached its bottom yet? on: January 23, 2020, 11:38:01 PM
The bottom of the market has already ended a long time ago, now there is no particularly strong growth, but also the market does not fall down, which is already pleasing.

Wouldn't be so sure about it. BTC is quite struggling to get past some point and there is nothing on the horizon that should guarantee it's growth. Halving is not something that will have such a big impact. Each one of them has smaller impact and this will be the last meaningful one. We are getting to the point where fees should be what  keeps the system going and not the block reward. Besides of that unfortunately nobody need any crypto at this point. Still gotta wait for more development and while people get bored the price will be dropping.
33  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is now the right time to buy altcoin? on: January 23, 2020, 11:31:21 PM
Well there is no bullish market yet so it is still good time to buy altcoins and hold until the bull market happens. Hopefully we can see bull this year.
The bull is coming but looks like later this year as you said. Sentiment still hasn't zeroed after June 2019 rally which left even more holders at $10k+ prices. Firstly, you need some time before people forgot their friends stories of losing money. Secondly, people who got in high and sold low and lost money will regain faith only after we get new ATH as they could finally tell themselves 'damn i was right, i should have hodled, lets try again'. Also this regulatory shit has to calm down even more. People got to forgot about Libra fail.
34  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: HODL HODL portfolio on: January 23, 2020, 10:49:45 PM
HODL only portfolio should consist BTC and USDT only.. Nothing else should be considered a long term investment in this area. IF you get see top5 falling like 90% in a year then cmon, what kind of holding strategy would make sense under these circumstances. All smaller altcoins are basically a gamble. Is 1 or 2 years long term? I wouldn't say so, yet most of seasonal things is out of hype way quicker. To get good profit on BTC even you had to stick to it for 5 years or so

36  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Cap.Club – a smart crypto trading platform on: January 23, 2020, 03:10:06 PM
I just check the thread and clicked the URL. The website is down and keeping to the previous poster in mind it seems it has been down all that time:

https://cap.club
It was an awesome service actually but a few months ago I received and email that said they were shutting down. No infos about new owners or anything. Good service being shut down and nobody wants to invest in them or whatever else might have helped. I've been using zignaly since then and I think I can recommend it.
37  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bad days for crypto on: January 23, 2020, 03:05:53 PM
I mean, if Ethereum hardfork succeeds, ETH can become very attractive for whales. If this happened and the ETH price began to be pumped, it would be the first Altcoin to break away from the Bitcoin price. For investors it could be a sign that Altseason is starting. I know that this is unlikely, but I'm just speculating Wink

A lot of investors are really counting on ETH to pump because eventually when it pump, altcoins especially the ETH tokens will have a chance to rise due to its hype. Imagine how hard ETH has fallen, from $1K+ to $100+ now, it's very disappointing if you don't fully understand how this market move.

Just remember all bad feelings and sentiment that gathered in people because of this fall. Now there is a lot of people who lost money trading crypto and told about it their friends or family. More and more of them heard first person view type of stories and will be more and more cautious about investing their money in this industry. ETH was especially undermined by scam ICO environment as well as oldschool DAO crisis and similar. People are waiting for BTC to moon and then they will be looking for a new '2nd bitcoin'
38  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: My personal challenge: $1,000 to $1 Million on: January 23, 2020, 02:58:09 PM
I don't think liquidity will ever really become a problem in this challange lol Grin There is more than enough shitcoins to be picking from and if you only diversify your strategies a little then there will be no problem at all. There are many other options (hehe) than just buying and selling an asset when it comes to trading and 1mil capital for those might not be even enough. Liquidity is only a concern for variance type of thing when we need to measure volatility of a market.
39  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: To be a successful trader need help of a successful trader! on: January 22, 2020, 10:21:13 PM
A proper mentorship is the best way for every Jedi apprentice. If we think that success is a combo of knowledge + experience then we can easily see the benefits of learning from others. If you get the person who has all the knowledge to show you your mistakes in real time then you won the lottery basically. Finding your own leaks takes enormous amount of collecting data and analysis, while someone from behind your shoulder who is more experienced can immediately spot where your money is leaking.
40  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How binary options brokers make money - any idea? on: January 22, 2020, 10:15:55 PM
The amount of money they make from players that lose their prediction is always higher than the numbers of people who predict the right direction of the market trend within that period and I believe that is how they make their money.
If you put a monkey in front of 2 buttons it would be right 50% of the time...  Costs are hidden in the payout structure. As somebody mentioned, timeframe is so short it is usually a 51-49% type of situation. If a proposition is that you lose 100% but win less than 200% then there is your fee. You can read up a little about expected value (EV).
