22  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Antminer Batches? on: November 09, 2015, 07:45:48 PM

23  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: PPS Confusion on: November 09, 2015, 12:56:35 AM
So antpool must pay the best with there low 2.5% fee over f2pool's 4%. I know its not fair to judge in a day of mining but I would have to get 10 blocks on slush a day to get more then PPS on antpool. obviously there will be good and bad days.
24  Bitcoin / Pools / PPS Confusion on: November 09, 2015, 12:20:29 AM
Ok. I am still a little confused on PPS and where to mine with my S7. I have mined with ANTPOOL and I have mined on slush's pool. I make 0.0035 roughly when a block is found on slush and I have made 7 dollars in 12 hours with the PPS on antpool. So I understand the differences with luck. I have gone 9 hours without hitting a block on slush which sucks. If the pool does better I do better. So with PPS will it always be the same? Do I make anything on top of the PPS when a block is found? Lets say in 1 hour 100 blocks are found lol. Will I see any difference in pay then a day where 10 were found? Some people say the PPS is better at f2pool buth its 4% over 2.5%. I don't understand the math?

Any help is greatly appreciated,
Paul
25  Bitcoin / Hardware / Antminer Batches? on: November 08, 2015, 11:09:13 PM
I have an antminer s7 and unfortunately like it so much I think I will be buying another lol. I have a batch 3 and I have seen a batch 1 for sale. Any difference between the batches? They are both 4.86 is that all that matters?

Thanks so much,
Paul
26  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: S7 setup on: November 08, 2015, 02:39:41 AM
Wow. that makes sense. it didn't make sense to me either. The instructions clearly said to power the hashboards first and the controller after. I have done this a few times but everything works. I hope I am ok
27  Bitcoin / Mining support / S7 setup on: November 05, 2015, 10:09:19 PM
I received my first miner today. The antminer s7. On the instructions it said to power on the hashing boards first then the control panel. I put each 6 pin into all 9 of the hashing power ports. I then powered the power supply on .. and waited like 5 seconds and plugged the control board 6pin in while hot. Is this correct?

thank u

30  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Antminer S7 on: November 01, 2015, 03:13:08 PM
I am looking to buy my fist miner. I see the s7 is pretty popular. Just wondering, and I am sure this has been asked but is it worth it? I looked at a bitcoin calculator and 4.8TH/s will make 370 a month not including electricity. If the electric is 100 a month then I will make my money back In 10 months. What I am not sure about is the technology in 10 months? Will the s7 be like the s5 in 10 months and not be profitable? What are my chances of at least making my money back? Nervous about spending 2500 dollars on my first miner. Any help is greatly appreciated!
31  Bitcoin / Armory / Root Keys Vs Paper Wallet on: October 31, 2015, 01:23:10 AM
I am new and have a couple of questions. I have armory and bitcoin-qt loaded up now and am liking them. Wondering How do the root keys work compared to private keys?

I like how a paper wallet works where you have the private key and no mater what happens you can sweep the account. If armory goes down and I have no exe file. All I have is the root key. How would I get the money out? Is there a way to convert a root key into the private keys? Just curious and really appreciate the help.

yes that makes sense. I am looking into it!

However has anyone here used coinbase to send bitcoins or receive bitcoins from gambling sites? I cant believe this is not allowed
33  Economy / Exchanges / Coinbase Gamble on: October 29, 2015, 10:00:17 PM
I deposited and withdrew funds from gambling sites a few times on my new coinbase account. I had no idea that this was against the rules and am shocked. I have heard of them shutting down people for this?

Am I ok? I just did it a few times?
