not so easy, almost nothing is said about the use of third-party (sgminer cgminer) miners not Claymor and not in what the interface does not show the temperature of chip cards
True - but who cares. ZEC, ETH/ETC/EXP and XMR are covered with Claymore's miner About temperature - I have no idea why did they do it Nicehash Windows miner has a good collection of all the various 3rd party miners out there, so a good test will be running miner and let it benchmark all the algos. GPUZ may not identify "RX480 Mobile" correctly hence missing temps data.... maybe. http://hostingkartinok.com/show-image.php?id=6f78696f964eeaf2d97fc50124ce88dacpu-z identify RX480 its not mobile chip nicehash miner not work in panda miner Do you have CPU information about it? Is it some x86 chip on the board? Thanks!

1 year too late.
This would be golden last january.
Now ROI is 250+ days at current speed, difficulty and price, right? Within those 250 it will probably double if things keep evolving like they do.
Well assuming all is good about the miner. zero quality problems. works well fast shipping. the next issues are: what coin will work? what is a good coin? how easy is changing the software? this unit may allow for mobile card up grades and what I like most is the small size with neat wires. The problem with this is getting the mobile GPUs, where do you see MXM 480s for sale now, and how much are they? For us it's a bit hard to get, then even harder to resell the cards afterwards. it comes with the gpus. Of course, but if you wanted to upgrade in the future, where would you get those from?

you gonna feed 8 RX480s only via 4 PCI-E power sockets?? what gauge your PSU wires have? Do you know who manufactures this board? Thanks!

Could've reverse engineered and remove the functions that force devfees but kind of hard to do, having looked at the disassembly... But OP only registered 6 days ago so I would probably say this is probably mroe likely to be a scam or malware

The whole SGminer needs to go GUI approach. Too many algorithms, too many options that are irrelevant to some algorithms while being important for others. Its just too messy.
SGminer depends greatly on CPU too. on intel dual core machines it sucks balls!! I love the concept but implementation, documentation and representation is miserable. They need to work on making it more user friendly
Hey maxmad_x, I know you're frustrated. I'm sorry. I am working on the documentation, as well as a GUI - it's in the roadmap.md These things take time, and I know that's probably frustrating and not what you want to hear. But I'm committed to making SGMiner-GM the most user friendly piece of software out there. I just need your patience. I've gone ahead and added your 'feature' requests to the GitHub tracker (they were on my personal to-do list). I wish I had an updated windows-build files to compile corectly, but it seems that devs just ignores it
Yes, and the miner incomprehensible. Perhaps he only works with - ZCash XMR Ethereum, since other algorithms miner produces delusions It compiles correctly for Wolf0 and I; I will work on this. No, we don't work with just Zcash, XMR, and Ethereum. It's just those are the main coins for this release. Would you be willing to accept pull requests to the repo from someone not in the group? I like the open source approach

So it's the same internal board with laptop rx 480s? Can you give some information about those that designed the board? The 'StarMiner gpu switch 1.3'? Would be interested in learning about how it was designed and the architecture behind it.

What if use 7 such multiplerlers with 3 cards in each to build 21-card rig on a single motherboard? What if install 3 multiplers in each multipler resulting in 63 card per rig? Where significant performance drop will appear?
Look at the posting by citronick. Looks like there are other issues that come into play. It has been done actually by Nippy -- see this link and see the motherboard (its a USD$2000 PCI extension board for deep learning systems, like Facebook's Project Big Sur) https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1433925.msg16380747#msg16380747Its not as straight forward as ... just putting these multiplexors into an array ... you need Linux and special AMD drivers to make this work.... its entirely different animal all together. Claymore even needed to put a new version of ETH miner to support that many cards. Actually big sur while it does have an expansion board it only uses 8 gpus, although it can run k80s which would then need changes similar to the OSS board, it would still not need much in the way of bios mods to work, rather a small hypervisor kernel change. The stock linux kernel is not happy with OSS boards iirc, and they do have a hard limit of 16 cards(just in the way of how graphics cards are allocated space today). If you want to see an example bios for a system that was made to work with 8+ cards on an amd mobo you should look up fastra II

2x MSI RX480 8GB, Getting 80-90H/s You can push those each up to ~52 ish, I have the same card, you need ~3 modifications to the Bios. use the Polaris bios editior to Change memory strap: to 777000000000000022339D00CE516A3D9055111230CB4409004AE600740114206A8900A00200312 0150F292F94273116 then bump the memory speed to 2200 and change the mem voltage from 975 to like 1025-1050 (this is needed for stability i found at 975 it crashes every few hours) massive your millage may very but all the cool kids are doing it so, gl! Can you post a bios for this? Mine weren't booting when i switch to 1050/2200

Anyone know how to use silentarmy with this? Thanks!
|
|
|
Using windows 10, whenever I try to launch silentarmy it starts, but then stops working and crashes, is there something else I need to install first?
What card are you using 480s

ok finally got the rom to work, had to do a full re-install of the drivers , copy the modded driver and then boot with option 7
not sure how to get option 7 to auto load on boot.
One issue I'm seeing
dual mining seems quite neutered compared to stock ? at 30 dcri I am seeing 24.5 eth and 360ish sc when before I was getting 23.5 eth and 420 sc
now if I mine eth only I was seeing high hash rates around 31mhs
Also the cards all now detect and 4GB I know others mentioned that as well, it does seem that the core clocks are maxing around 980 which might be the reason for the low SIA or dual mining ?
Try this one Marvell, 29Mh otb, low power usageGreetings Thanks Eliovp , just tried this new bios and the cards defintlay seem to run cooler and more stable, howver I still get lower than stock when I use dcri over 20 for Sia coin. I'm seeing around 22 mhs eth and 390 sia with my normal dcri 30. With it lowered to 20 I get 26 mhs/eth and 200 SC Maybe its my drivers ? I'm using the latest Driver 16.8.2 funny thing is when the miner initlally starts I see the expected rates : 26.5 mhs eth and 400 SC then it immediately drops down to 21 eth hmm Your vram is probably overheating and throttling

Which version of the drivers are you using? Here's what I'm seeing after flashing , unsure why no temperature are being reported - it's a stock powercolor rx 480

I would definitely be interested in enough for 12 cards!

Hey, have you published the modified code publicly anywhere yet?(not for the kernel ofc)
