22  Economy / Computer hardware / WTS: a couple of our Avalon 6's on: January 09, 2016, 03:16:59 AM
hey..

Looking to sell off a couple of our Avalon 6's.. about a month old and running strong.  We have close to 160 TH in total, just maxing out our power right now, so looking to unload a couple units to reduce the electrical requirements and get us back into a safe zone :0  I've already melted one electrical panel and would prefer to try and avoid burning down the place Wink

Anyways.. PM if interested.

I can post some pics of the farm if you'd like. Units will come with connecting cables in original box but no PSU or controller.

Units are in Ontario & Quebec CA but can ship anywhere.

Cash or BTC

Cheers

23  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTB][Canada]Antminer S7, Antminer S7 Coupon, Avalon6, EVGA PSU on: January 09, 2016, 03:03:07 AM
Time to revive my main buy thread;

I'm interested in buying;
Willing to pay the "ship now" Bitmain's GH/$

-Antminer S7
-Antminer S7 Coupon

-Avalon6

-High end GS/GQ/G2/P2/T2 EVGA PSU or equivalent top quality.

I am interested in international purchase
However if the units are already in Canada, i can pay a little more, since i will not have to pay for import.

If you have any of these, please reply here or PM an offer and i will respond depending on the current budget.

I've got both Ants S7's B8 and Avalon 6's... would consider selling a couple... Running close to 160TH and already melted one electrical panel Smiley  Before I burn our shop down, I might consider unloading some.

PM me if interested... Units are in Quebec / Ottawa... can deliver to TO & MTL.

Cheers.

Had the exact same issue with 3x units... try different cables or re-seating the existing cables you have especially the smaller black cable that goes from the RPie to the miner... also make sure the colors match at either end of the connector. I had one that was reversed.  Try turning the miner on first, let come up and plug in the RPie next making sure the black cable is disconnected.  Last, try to run the upgrade on the miner... that fixed one of mine even without it being recognized by cgminer.

good luck.
25  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Review] Avalon 6 Miner - Winter Mining - Notlist3d - Also FAQ and Help on: December 21, 2015, 03:18:38 AM

the server kit from finksy that let me boost to 12.55 volts give me 7700gh for 2    I am happy with that.

can you share how you've "boosted" to 12.55v with finksy kits? We have about a dozen of them, all running smoothly around 11.9-12v... wouldn't mind getting a little more out of our avalons.  Maybe I missed something here.  thanks Smiley

26  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Shouldnt we wait for Halving before buying new miners? on: November 24, 2015, 05:01:27 PM
With the last diff jump of 10%+ and the next 10%+ in less than 14 days your looking at -25% in profits before you even get mining.

curious to know why you think the next jump will be ~10%... is this speculation or based on something else?
27  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Energy costs... what is cheap? on: November 12, 2015, 05:54:02 PM
very good... thanks guys for the input.  Our commercial negotiated usage rates in this area are around the 0.038 CDN (or 0.028 USD) plus delivery & other fees. Given that we already have the buildings, decent power rates, this may be worth considering.

Thanks again

28  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Energy costs... what is cheap? on: November 12, 2015, 05:43:57 AM

Hey... I'm new here.  Been lurking for a while and I'm intrigued, curious and considered investing something in this, even to just play around a bit. My background is IT, almost 20 years, have owned several businesses over the years; hardware, software, services... you name it. I have extensive experience in IT, data centre services, managing, architecture & design of large interconnected networks with hundreds of systems. So I have a pretty good understanding of what it takes to design, implement and operate relatively large environments.  Better yet, I have an interesting circle friends and colleagues that are just as intrigued with deep & generous pockets.

Anyways.. I'm curious to know what is considered "cheap" or reasonable electricity costs to run a profitable small scale mining operation.  I'm not really sure what should be considered small, but lets say around 250k in equipment excluding startup costs.  I've run the calculators and can see the results, but I'm looking for opinions from folks with real world experiences and that may have a better understands the market (historic, current and anticipated future).

btw.. that figure is in CDN $$ so about 150k USD  Embarrassed

Thanks!

30  Economy / Currency exchange / Canada - Looking to purchase 200 Bitcoins... on: November 11, 2015, 04:34:16 AM
Looking for the easiest way to purchase up to 200 bitcoins as quick as possible.  I'm a new user so i'm not expecting anyone to trade with me online. Can anyone suggest other methods acquiring this many bitcoins or I can meet in person in most major cities across Ontario or Quebec within 24 hours. I could also fly out to other provinces under the right circumstances.

thanks!
