Will banks worldwide accept bitcoin deposits and insurance soon?
What do you think?
22  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Using percentage of bitcoins instead of number of bitcoins on: September 16, 2012, 03:22:19 AM
Indeed, just a notation shift.
23  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Using percentage of bitcoins instead of number of bitcoins on: September 16, 2012, 01:27:44 AM
What about a protocol that used the figures in percentage (in scientific notation, sure) relatively the totality of bitcoins instead of a number of bitcoins that is completly arbitarily. As far as I understand there is no reason why the maximum number of bitcoins tends to 21 million and not another such big number.
Using percentages the values could be expressed in a simillar way, using decimal.
You could simply stipulate that the decimal value, in this protocol, would mean percentage of the totality of bitcoins, and still all be the same, and the values having eight decimal places on the right.
Maybe you would need rounding at some point. I'm not sure.
What do you think?
24  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sponsoring IPs to block unfriendly sites on: September 15, 2012, 08:22:48 PM
It could be argued that not accepting bitcoin as a form of payment is also a tyranny.
But I agree that my ideas are wrong. It is good have people making me think it better.
25  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Sponsoring IPs to block unfriendly sites on: September 15, 2012, 07:14:05 PM
What about sponsoring Internet Providers to block websites that don't accept bitcoin?
You would have crowfunding pay for it and people would get a cheaper internet connection for that trade-off: having websites that don't accept bitcoin blocked.
My IP blocks piratebay website because it is a piracy site. So I think this could be a policy of an Internet Provider.
Sites that were considered particularly unfriendly to bitcoin would be blocked and bitcoin lovers would pay for that.
26  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Why so much bitcoin popularity in Russia? on: September 15, 2012, 03:00:44 PM
Yesterday I was looking at map that showed popularity of bitcoin worldwide and was wondering why Russia got the first place.
There is a good reason for bitcoin being so popular in Russia.
It is probably because there is a Russian TV channel that discusses bitcoin all the time: "Russia Today" TV (rt.com).
This may tell us how important is mediatic coverage for bitcoin popularity.

28  Other / Off-topic / Clues for the origin of the name Satoshi Nakamoto on: September 14, 2012, 10:45:50 PM
The origin of the name Satoshi Nakamoto may be related to the very famous Japanese musician:
                                 "Ryuichi Sakamoto"
Also it may have a connection with the word "Satori" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Satori
which makes me think he likes Buddhism and Zen.

What about a site like odesk - for freelancers - that used only bitcoins but had no comissions and got no profits. Would it have to pay taxes?
What about when a site runs behind a tor onion?
Please discuss legallity and illegality issues of running a website that uses only bitcoins.

38  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Bitcurex.com - Win BCC at MintRace Weekend #2 on BitMinter.com on: August 29, 2012, 11:55:40 PM
I don't like the "me love bitcoin" either.
I think you should stick to the new bitcoin logo/design http://www.ecogex.com/bitcoin/.
And you should consider crowdsourcing at  http://99designs.com to come up with somthing much better.
I will wait for somthing more appealing, for that matter.
