23  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Want to buy $100 of LTC on: March 10, 2013, 05:48:33 AM
Can use Paypal or e-interac. I've had many good exchanges here recently, the feedback should be in my recent post history.

I know the same could have been said about Bitcoin a year ago, but why but any actual money into Litecoin? Bitcoin has a much higher chance of a long-term, successful future.
LTC has been doing really good so far compared to the other coins. Besides bitcoin. I actually get more profit doing litecoin mining instead of bitcoin mining. Might be because I don't pay for electricity though. So it seems like litecoin will become neck and neck to bitcoin if it can survive just a bit longer.
24  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: When difficulty goes up 30 times, caused by ASICs, will you still mine GPU? on: February 28, 2013, 03:30:13 AM
I'm going to keep mining bitcoins, or maybe move to litecoin. Right now I get more profit with litecoin than I do with bitcoin. So I might just move to litecoin now..
25  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Which will come first Avalons 3rd batch or BFL's first? on: February 28, 2013, 03:13:54 AM
I personally think most of these ASICs for bitcoin are scams.. But if it was true I think Avalon's 3rd batch would beat the BFL. BFL seems like it would be the most scammy. Hiding stuff sketchy people, sketchy works..
26  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Overclocking 5870 on: February 26, 2013, 08:46:15 PM
My bad.. I can't pass the 900 core clock, and can go to 450 on my memory.
27  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Overclocking 5870 on: February 26, 2013, 08:32:05 PM
Sorry for late reply.
I tried overclocking on cgminer, it still locks me at 900 engine. But I can underclock the core to 450.
28  Bitcoin / Mining support / Overclocking 5870 on: February 26, 2013, 01:30:12 AM
I used to be able to get 935/450 on this card.. I installed the new update, and then reverted it back to the update I had before and now I can't pass the limit of 900/600. I have tried to enable unofficial overclocking, but that did not work.
Does anyone know a fix or why it is doing this?
Anything about it helps.

ASICs, own risk, stupid to mine on GPUs, yadda yadda and so on. Anyway...

What you're looking for is the cheapest mobo that can take two of the cards. I think they use pcie, so go with that. I'm fairly certain that cards designed to run on pcie 2 can run on 1 as well, and the decreased bandwidth doesn't matter too much to you. once you've picked out your mobo, grab a gig or two that fits into it, and the cheapest processor that fits into the socket on the mobo. That's... basically it. You'll want a power supply that can supply enough power for everything (there's a power supply calculator online), and  a tower to house this all in. Try http://pcpartpicker.com/ to see what can be bought new, and then look for old computers with compatible ports that people are getting rid of or throwing away. Reusing old hardware will make your power usage higher, but initial investment cheaper.
Thanks for the help.
31  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / What hardware goes with a 5870? on: February 24, 2013, 07:21:50 PM
I am thinking of getting like 4-6 AMD 5870s. But I have no idea on what other hardware I need.. (mobo, power supply, cpu, ram, etc..)
If you guys could tell me what would work all together, please tell me. I could not find anywhere were I can find all the hardware.
Also It is just a dedicated one so I would like it to be the cheapest stuff ever.

36  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Am I even mining LTC? on: December 01, 2012, 12:09:24 AM

Trying to solo mine but I don't think I'll ever hit anything. But I'm just testing and I don't know whats going on with this thing.  Huh
Sorry if it's a stupid question.. I'm stupid when it comes to this kind of stuff.
37  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: ebay scam on selling used cards - the 0 feedback bidder trick on: November 29, 2012, 11:46:22 PM
I dont sell much on ebay so maybe this is a dumb question, but how is this a scam? I also dont mean to sound like a dick here. I understand how this is annoying in the wasted time but as long as you wait on payment before shipping what does the buyer/scammer gain by doing this?
Pissing people off.
38  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Noob question about mining.. on: November 29, 2012, 10:34:15 PM
I'm not living in my mom's basement with "free power" like some posters around here.  Cool
Well I'm not 18 yet. But I do have a job so I can pay for somethings by myself.
39  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Don't laugh- One Nvidia card looking to get burnt up. on: November 26, 2012, 11:49:20 PM
I'm turning my GPU miners OFF in 2 days because of the reward halving. Why would you even want to start?
Not everyone is in it for the money..

Ckolivas, is it my computer or graphics card that is giving me 46 stales in 8 hours?
Not being mean just asking cause I don't get it. :/

How could he possibly answer that given that you gave so little information about your setup. Try giving him/us more details. What pool? What version of Cgminer? What is your hardware setup? ...

Note: if you are on p2pool there was a recent hard fork and issues should stabilize over time.

BtcGuild, latest version and I tried with my 1 HD Radeon 6670

And how many accepts? What percentage is your rejects?
I got about 800 accepts and 40-60 stales
