21  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: My theory about the Antminer S5+ being more efficient than the Antminer S5 on: January 01, 2016, 07:22:13 PM
If the antminer s5+ uses less power than the S5 (as some say the J/GHs is less)!

Isn't this because, the controlling system needs less power.
It only requires one computer for three boards compared with the S5 which requires one computer per one board.

I believe this is the reason why some are confused and suggest that it i smore power efficient, it just needs less power to power the computer.

No its because the chips run at a lower frequency and lower voltage, but there are more of them. The controller use negligible amount of electricity, it really does not amount to 20% of the power if it "control the boards better or not".

Its the same reason why the latest batches of S7 have less chips, higher freq and 4.7TH/s. It is because they come overvolted and overclocked. Which means the latest batches are less efficients.

Please don't bring up antminer s7. We will have another argument with bitcoin miners about their miners. the first batch was rated at 4.86 THs. Users say that they only got around 7.4THs!

Anyway, thanks for the information regarding antminer s5 and atminer s5+s

People were supposed to receive compensation for delays and for some B2 miners being send to B1 buyers. Though some users also report not receiving compensation yet.
I thought you did not want to talk about it, however? Not here to argue, but no point in making several threads for things that were already discussed in depth either.

On that subject, Hashnest.com is still getting 4.86THs of their Antminer S7s. I though tthat both server types (ones sold publically and ones transferred to their sister companies) were the same!

Good raffle going on a the moment though, wasted 2mbtc and lost on hashnest.com/luckyhash/running!

So the s5+chips were more efficient than the s5s because the s5+ ones were underclocked and s5s was overclocked?

24  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: Pokeram.com worth to invest? on: January 01, 2016, 07:04:09 PM
Hi guys,

i plan to put in some money onto this site on their investment, but im still worried.
So i would like to hear all the trusted community here on this site before going all out onto them.

If you guys have invested, can you share with me your experience, or share least how much you invested so i could get an understanding
on their returns.

Thank you.

Only YOU can decide if they are legitimate.
I know that Carbon7.cc is run by the same company, maybe invest $20 in there first or invest $30 in pokeram.
Many poeple online say it is legit (I have my doubts) but, it has been paying for over 4 years and it states that it uses poker "bots" which is probably highly profitible (providing that the gambling company do not gecide to change their coding!)
25  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: 21 cents per kw, Any way to mine? on: January 01, 2016, 06:46:25 PM
With this price, you would probably be better out buying bitcoin directly and wait for the price to rise.
Many people will say try cloud mining, but from experience i can say, it's not profitable any more.

Yeah i wouldn't do it too. I had some S3 miners > no profit but ROI by selling them
Then i bought S5 miners > no profit (clearly bitmain overpriced them)
The S7 i skipped knowing there would be no profit too.

Bitmain but also some other pools have a reputation too screw their customers. So far the only legit one i found was f2pool.

@OP
21 cent per KW is a lots of money compared what it will bring you.
If you use the calculator you will see your ROI (remember you have to buy the PSU too), will be too long for this investment to be worth while.

My advice is to buy some cloud hashing indeed.

Cloud mining is very risky these days.
First you got the scam companies
Second you got the companies that are creative with payouts (hiding blocks etc.).
Just google Hashnest hiding blocks.

Who cares if Hashnest are hiding blocks?
Their mining systems are still profitable!

However, even though the price of the Bitcoin has doubled, for some unknown reason, the antminer s3 GHS are at a 93% maintenance fee! Before the price increase they were at 80%? Very Confusing!

OF course hashnest hide some of the blocks, anpool finds a block every few hours, whereas revenue from hashnes comres about every 8 hours. But, they may just be coupling payments together!
26  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: 21 cents per kw, Any way to mine? on: January 01, 2016, 06:42:58 PM
according to a quick calculation I did.
It suggests that you would pay 18144euro for power of an antminer s7!

Not sure that my cacluations were correct so it may be out by a factor of 21, 24, 30 or 100 (due to numbers entered into an equation!)

Possibly not too out though.
27  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Will miners suffer from the bitcoin halving if the price stays at its current r? on: January 01, 2016, 06:12:05 PM
As the Bitcoin price has more than doubled in the past few months. I believe that miners will not suffer from the bitcoin halving as predicted.

Is this the case? As, if the bitcoin reward halfs, it should be balanced out with the price of Bitcoin?
28  Economy / Gambling / Primedice Python Bot on: January 01, 2016, 06:04:05 PM
Hello,

I would like to use the Primedice API in order to get a python bot.

Does anyone have the code needed to produce the python gambling bot that they could place here in code tags?

Thank you in advance.

30  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Solo mining question on: January 01, 2016, 05:48:32 PM
Guys, i see your posts from all around the world about the price of KW. In Greece for bills with more than 3000kw per 4 months we pay 0,10252/KW. And then we have 3 different "taxes" for a final bill which gives us about 0.2 euro per KW. Thats insane!!!!!

I assume that instead of KW, you mean KWh?
You may wish to calculate the profits from different leading devices such as: an Antminer s7 and the new Bitfury device that will be released later this year.

32  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is www.hashnest.com is legitimate? on: December 14, 2015, 06:23:46 PM
hi guys, i am new in bitcoin world, I interested in mining but some reasons i can't start easily. My best option is cloud mining i am currently registered in www.hashnest.com but i did not yet investing. can anyone try this website?

I'm afraid to be a victim of scam.

please share your knowledge about that website i plan to mine.

or anybody can offer the best cloud mining website.

thank you guys.

Hashnest is legitimate. Their different classes of hashing power offer different risk/reward ratios. Probably the best buy now is S5.

PACMiC is another option to invest, although PACMiC v4 isn't as good as PACMiC v3, I invested 6.07041907 in v3 and have made  0.21156469 profit with 85.45% paid back on my principle so far...but I started my investments back on 08/23 so it's been almost 3 months so far...but I'm expecting all my capital to be paid back in the next month or so given the price of btc.

Oh, it's also run by Bitmain which is the one of the only hardware manufacturers right now who sells to the home miner still.

Thank you for your information sir, but i preferred a small amount of investment. To satisfy only my curiosity in gaining bitcoin. Maybe if i have some more extra money that can affored to PACMiC maybe i should go.

Possibly not a good idea to use PACMiC! They may suspend your contract before you get the principal back! Just for PACMiC v4 is not a good investment. An antminer s7 on hashnest, is a better investment. You will get your money back in the first year, and get a similar (but smaller) amount in the second.

(NOTE: PURCHASE FROM THE MARKET It is cheaper at the moment and more flexable!
You can get 1000GHs for 1.0-1.2 BTC (maximum)!
33  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best way to earn Bitcoins? on: December 14, 2015, 06:18:51 PM
Is there some way to earn Bitcoins quickly?

Mining seems to be too far ahead of me, and faucets give out very little.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Possibly best to use a site like: bitcoinget.com (coud give you about 0.01BTC for a hour's work!)
Bitvisitor.com is also seen as a good site, but hasvery low payments! I suppose that if you normally work on your compuer, then keeping the bitvisitor tab open and going back to it every five minutes is not necessarily a bad thing!
34  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Solo mining question on: December 09, 2015, 06:51:57 PM
Everything that I have read recently has pointed me to the fact that solo mining is not profitable. I have a unique situation where my electricity is included and I pay nothing for it. It does not matter how much I do or do not use. Would it still be profitable or would I still be unable to reach ROI on one or two ASIC miners?

I was just thinking before, if you purchase two ASIC miners: both the same and at the same value. If you connect one to a pool such as antpool and one to your own pool (which can be generated from an "always on" computer that you can leave running with bitcoin core running on it and create your own pool of it! See Youtube and Google for information on how to do this) . The always-on computer can be something as rubbish at CPU as a Raspberry Pi for around £30, and if you have a spare hard drive that you could use, then this will sped up the raspberry pi and mean it is less likely to have a corrupt micro SD and wake you up beecause the miner makes rediculous noises as it fails (bitmain's products are said to make loud beeping noises when the connection goes down to them!
35  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Very interested in mining, but looks difficult to get into. Help requested! :) on: December 09, 2015, 06:46:39 PM
Would I not be better off using my GPU for the mining?

What is said in the post above is trye. You are likely to lose money this way, due to both electricity costs and affecs on the CPU/GPU. If you want to do non-profit mining, then you could use something like http://github.com/jgarzik/cpuminer: made my one of the Bitcoin developers. Otherwise, if you try websites such as bitmaintech.com or amazon.co.uk then you can get a brand new server/miner: filled with asic chips! There is also a U3 version, that if bought of amazon is valued at around £39 or $50 and comes with power supply which bitmain donot include in their products.

(NOTE: Hashnest, that I stated earlier, is run by Bitmain)

I would recommend that you do not purchase directly from bitmain tech as it has been reported as being late several times. IF you wish to buy a second hand miner, ensure that you get the previous owner's consent that it hasntbeen overclocked.
36  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin - one of the Terrorists Funding Sources on: December 09, 2015, 05:39:58 PM
I would have thought that, technically, the Internet is the main funding source of Terrrism. Cut out the internet and there is less terrorism. Less people are manipulated into believing what other people think that are metally more stable than the manipulated person.
37  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Very interested in mining, but looks difficult to get into. Help requested! :) on: December 09, 2015, 05:35:23 PM
Hello everyone,

I've been interested in the whole idea of mining bitcoin for quite some time, but it seems rather complicated to get into.

I hear lots of people saying its not worth it or its hard to break even, but what if you already have a really good PC that you can use for it?

My current specs are as follows;

   Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4770K CPU @ 3.50GHz (8 CPUs), ~3.5GHz (Liquid cooled)
   Memory: 16384MB RAM
Card name: MSI NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 Ti

Any sort of help would be great, I could greatly use some sort of insight into this whole Bitcoin Mining thing.

Thanks in advance!!

8x3.5=28GHz
Possibly not too bad!
However, I found an average value of about 1GHz can produce around 1MHz so you may only achieve 24GHz as CPUs tendto run slower than average.
I would suggest that you could look at Hashnest (the ONLY fully trusted cloud mining site). If you start off by testing 1 GHs of any machine (S7 is reccommended for this!)
Here are the maximum prices at the moment in a day:
S7 < 0.0012BTC
S5 < 0.0006BTC
S4 < 0.0003BTC
S3 < 0.0002BTC
And the S2 and S1 hardware was taken back by hashnest and sold onto the owners of the GHs.
Tey are in charge of mantaining the hardware and, you are guarentted to ean qute a bit with the S7 and S5. But the S3 and S4 have faster ROIs provided you are lucky!
38  Economy / Service Discussion / Question about signature campaign payments! on: November 29, 2015, 07:54:39 PM
Why don't signature campaigns pay for the number of people that view a topic! By doing this, they can pay higher for people that have more worthwild posts, such as threads that have more than 1000 views compared with threads that have 50 views, which would increase their advertising and the profits from their companies! Also making people most likely to post on discussions that involve more of the community too!
39  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Who will win WW3? on: November 29, 2015, 07:48:01 PM
If you vote, please state some reasons. I think Russia and China will win because they have more resources, manpower and gold plus autocratic leadership.

edit:
Please don't spam "everybody will lose" bullshit. World War 3 will be won by some faction.

Best comment thus far (10/28/2015):
I heard recently that the science that the concept of mutually assured destruction was based upon was a well intentioned lie. Humans tend to overestimate their importance. Some people are more resistant to radiation than others, and while birth defects increase quite a bit, there are still many healthy babies born in irradiated zones. The main radiation depletes very quickly after the blast, and the cone of wiping out all life on earth is based on the nuclear winter, not radiation. I heard this is also a myth, and that while it would result in a much colder climate worldwide still enough solar radiation would come through the debris clouds to grow plants, and it would be possible to run heaters and UV lamps using nuclear reactors.

Besides, the weather patterns would shift all the debris around so there would be clear spots everywhere anyway from time to time, and I heard that there is no way it would take decades for the dust to settle. Also, by the time the dust settles the radioactivity present in it will most likely have subsided below harmful levels. Some people less than 100 yards from ground zero in Hiroshima survived in open, above ground bomb shelters that were only designed to protect from blasts and shrapnel without any injury. Also, a nuclear bomb that is 1000 times more powerful does not destroy 1000 times the area, because the blast emanates spherically, it requires exponentially increasing energy to expand the blast radius.

Not to say that it's not serious, but just saying the extent of the threat of nuclear weapons has probably been over stated for understandable reasons.

War is simply the continuation of politics by other means. So there can be various degrees of success like in any form of negotiations. It depends on the will of the populations, but also on the resources available. No matter how determined Germany was in world War two, there were simply not the resources in terms of population to sustain the war effort. In this sense a war between China and Russia and NATO would likely be much more protracted. Also, the will of the citizens of NATO is not very strong- this generation is very soft and clearly has no stomach for hardship, so it is likely that the NATO powers would descend into civil war when their luxuries started being curtailed.

Russia and China already have more totalitarian systems in place which would be able to exert a greater level of control, but they are also dependent on a lot of infrastructure, like for the internet, that is based in the West and would be swiftly cut off in a conflict situation. There are enough resources in Siberia and Southeast Asia, which would likely fall under Chinese dominion, as well as Africa, which has a growing Chinese presence, to make for a very protracted conflict. It is likely that Africa would be a major battleground of this conflict due to the the prevalence of rare earths there. Most of the materials used in the electronics we are addicted to are mined in China or Africa, and China would be fairly well insulated from any kind of a direct assault due to the ease of deploying defense systems from Russia through the Siberiań plains, so NATO would likely counter by trying to attack the markets that are the lifeblood of the Chinese economy and limits their access. This would give rise to a revival in American manufacturing as the economic war heated up.

If you want to understand the power, follow the money- while Western backed institutions like the IMF and Bank for International Settlements may be active in the formation of policy in places like Brazil and and India, the new BRICS development bank sponsored by Russia and China will assuredly try to supplant the IMF wherever it can, forming a globalization of resistance to the current dominant schools. Anti American sentiment in South America is also very high due to decades of the US and CIA backing brutal and unpopular dictators there, so you could easily see a bloc of Brazil, Bolivia, Venezuela, and possibly other states forming against American aligned Colombia, Ecuador, and Panama.

You have intelligent and rational players making the decisions here- Putin's popularity is at an all time high because Russians feel the pride of imperial glory returning, however, nobody is going to take any unnecessary risks. It is a simple question of what can be gained. I heard someone once say that in Chinese the word for "crisis" and "opportunity" are the same word.

In Western Asia Russia sees an opportunity to expand its influence through an emerging shiite bloc composed of Iran, Iraq, and Syria, putting pressure on US backed Saudi Arabia by backing Shia in Yemen. This gambit is likely to fail in the long run because of the preponderance of Sunnis in the region, but they can be used simultaneously to secure a presence in the Eastern Mediterranean and to block access for Qatari gas to the large and lucrative European market which is currently the lifeblood of the Russian economy, and would be threatened by a consolidation of NATO power in Western Asia.
In other words, all Russia really has to do in order to win in West Asia is to not lose. This means a stalemate is actually a desirable outcome, and the present offensive in Aleppo is likely more defensive then genuinely aimed at retaking territory.
It would honestly be very hard to estimate who will win this war since there are many factors that cannot be calculated, but I think it is safe to say it will not be like World War 2 where you had a decisive victory in a few short years, but it is rather more likely to be like the wars of the middle ages that spanned generations. I  would expect it to last at least three generations, and by the time something resembling "victory" is finally obtained, the political landscape will probably have changed so much that the winner may not even be recognizable to us.

Of course, looking at history is the best way to determine the future, and we can see that fortunes have been fluctuating between West and East, with Roman and Persian empires going at it for centuries. The last few centuries have been characterized by dominance of the inheritors of the western Roman empire, now known as NATO, due to a surge of resources resulting from the conquest of the Americas. This momentum is starting to run out though, and you can see the economic center of gravity of the world shifting to the east, causing the Indian and Pacific Oceans to eclipse the Atlantic as the most important bodies of water. Control of the Atlantic belongs pretty completely to NATO, but as the Atlantic declines in importance expect the battle to heat up in the pacific, where the Russians and Chinese have a much stronger presence.

EUROPE and USA will obviously win! This is because, we can technically leave eart whenever we want  (if we need to)! Throught the use of space craft ans we can survive oustide of the world but not forever! This is just my opinion!
40  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why in some countries Bitcoin is banned on: November 28, 2015, 02:36:22 PM
Why in some countries Bitcoin is banned is the accepting of Bitcoin by  websites and that are illegal .

I was confused by the first post.
If you are wondering why bitcoin is banned in some countries, it is because it is majorly uncontrollable as it is decentralised. Some countries may also bann it as there are some ways that it can be stolen from people through the use of their bitcoin-qt username and passwords (which can be tracked from some trojans!)

It also cannot be Taxed!
