I'm definitely going to research bitwrits idea.. .

As for the lack of use, I suppose that goes with any form of currency.  If they choose to continue using visa or amex then we are OK.

As far as cashing out daily via USD I think that's actually a positive.

Giving you both a "thanks"

**Edit, I've signed us up for bitpay, pending review/acceptance.
22  Economy / Trading Discussion / I'm gonna pop some tags, only got .02 BTC in my pocket on: December 02, 2013, 11:31:02 PM
Back when I first got into bitcoins, a few members here and I got into the discussion of involving bitcoins in the music industry... it never really took off.  (At least personally).

I bought a bagel, paid a cell phone bill, gave away some bitcoins on the air (radio) and sadly gambled the rest away on Seals...

So the question is this:

Currently, at my company, our "average" radio on air sales package costs about $2000 per month.
We have smaller and we have bigger.   So we'll put the average at $2000 per month for a typical on-air package.

I would be more than willing to begin accepting bitcoins (as a majority of our client base are .coms, national companies, computer geeks, etc), but here in lies the issue:
Are BTC at the point where there is ANY stability?

It would be quite a loss of investment to print out 1000 Ad-Rate Cards for clients, that say 2BTC as a price, only to have value plummet by half and we'd have to effectively raise our price to 4BTC.  (This would APPEAR to be horrible on paper)

I would imagine this is the same challenge a local deli would face selling a bagel, in say, Manhattan for .0002 btc.

Obviously this option would only be plausible to customers already very familiar with bitcoin, as they'd need about 2 of them to purchase one package, so it would be heavily labeled as "an option"

Can you name any current Radio Stations accepting BTC?  I haven't found any.
Can you name any regular businesses accepting BTC currently (with the knowledge of how they control prices through marketing)?

And please... any ideas... I need 'em.

I initially had plans about accepting bitcoins for radio advertising and web advertising, but back in the day it proved too hard, moreso it seems the APIs are easier...

I was too early to utilize it "correctly" in my line of work.

But Bitcoin has become that much more relative in the online world, I think accepting the advertising fees with Bitcoin may be a great start.

Thanks!

I RAN to blockchain.info cuz I remember having TWO bitcoins from a while back.

Well after hours of guessing my password, I finally logged in!  (Wrote the password down now)

I have  0.00668303 BTC $ 3.45

and immediately remembered spending two bit coins at clubs4seals.

... it's going to be like 2015 when I hate myself for all this right?  LOL

Welcome me back!

Oh great, another battle of the fanboys. Speaketh not the name of Jobs in vain lest thou incur the fearsome wrath of His mighty army. Handbags at dawn is the only solution, this battle has been fought many times and the outcome is always the same, all OS's have their failings so they're all crap (except BeOS of course).

I installed BeOS once... it was ... cute.

VBulletin 4.  Its BULLETPROOF
Need proof else GTFO. I hate this attitude with a passion. It sounds stupid. Why do you think lots of vB users jumped ship after Internet Brands ttook the software over from Jelsoft? Just because a software costs a pretty penny does not mean it is better. I've already lost count of the numerous times me and my online buddies tell people this.

If paid software is "perfect", why do free alternatives even exist?

Where I'm glad you agree with the hand-writing aspect of "Forum Software,"  I'd have to disagree with the Jelsoft handover did that.... Jelsoft was absorbed back in 2007, it was just "never publicly released"

VBulletin would be the BEST for what the ADMIN requires in using and building this site based on the requirements listed.... Will you say that you'd rather see it sit as SMF, or maybe even PHPBB?

The bigger the company, the more controversy it will stir...

Hold an opened bottle up to year ear while playing music, at the right distance from your ear, you can hear it vibrating.

Do it with a Tuning Fork... (just keep it out of your ear)

Long Island Power Authority did this last year...

They simply "Replied To All" an apology.

Kinda Classic.

OSX is BSD.  You do know that right?

FreeBSD to be exact

JAVA Vulnerabilities were cross-platformed....

Nope since Apple does do security patches on their own, and has nothing to do with oracle so that is incorrect.

Its shades of gray... its like saying "This virus won't affect your Windows 98 machine..."

Duh, of course it wont... so Apple is a version behind with JRE Rollouts... "They appear to be smarter"

Everybody stop for a moment.

OSX is BSD.  You do know that right?

JAVA Vulnerabilities were cross-platformed....

Stop the Insanity.

Yes, run Ubuntu/Windows/OSX using Bootcamp all together...  The only security factor is the guy typing on it.

/sigh

I say "Just don't lie."

"Did you steal the cookie from the Cookie jar?"

"Yes."

"Oh... well what if you run for President?!"

"I wouldn't have stolen the cookie."

38  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: promoting bitcoin through rap/hip-hop music on: September 07, 2012, 04:42:34 AM

Let me check it out.  I had a fellow forum member here teaching me about BTC... (He even gave me one heehee)

Talking off line about what we do for a living, I explained what I do overall for Independent Unsigned Artists... turns out he is one!

So I'm working on my Professional Perspective of getting these new Artists off the ground (and making money) and he's working on his Professional Perspective of, well, virtually the same thing.

Now specifically, I cater to "Underground Musicians" (of all Genres) and Bitcoin is certainly Underground... I imagine I can sell the idea of releasing Albums online and even throwing Bitcoin Concerts "IRL"

Get Radio stations "Be tenth caller and qualify for the 25BTC Grand Prize which we'll be drawing at the next Blue Movie Concert in NY"

39  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: promoting bitcoin through rap/hip-hop music on: September 07, 2012, 04:17:28 AM
I just had a meeting about this two nights ago.  But its not just rap... we are going to use all Genres...

If this was serious thread, I find it ironic. Smiley
