21  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin halving almost there... brace yourselves :-) on: May 16, 2016, 08:29:22 PM
Well here it is guys. We'll see who is willing to go all in and who isn't. This is the nature of the game!

You have to be in it, to win.

Those that are sitting on the fence have a 0% chance of profiting, but also 0% chance of losing.

But, those of us who are willing to put our money where our mouth is... those of us that are willing to walk the walk... we have a 50% chance of doing well!....... BUT, also a 50% chance of losing it all Cheesy

This is the coming of age/rite of passage for many of you young investors... Boys will become men no matter what happens.

I'm willing to play. I'm probably holding more BTC than I should be... but, this trade has been three years in the making. I definitely will not be backing out. 100% Prepared for all outcomes and eventualities... LET'S AVE IT!!!!

22  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Which Super Cheap Coin is best to invest in? on: May 16, 2016, 08:15:14 PM
Yes would also like to know how you define "cheap." And perhaps also, why is it that you're suggesting that the "cheap" price of an asset defines it's 'potential' future value?
23  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: June 2016 on: May 16, 2016, 07:59:15 PM
This...

I don't think there will be any radical price movement. Way too many people are expecting it.

+1

Plus loads (thousands) of bitcoins are currently being held by developers, miners and the like.

I'm not a skeptic at all, but in real terms a 10x increase needs to be analysed.

If you're holding a million $ or more in BTC, that's 10million + you'd end up with after a 10x run upwards. If you're holding 10 million $ or more (many people are), that's 100 Mill profit per each holder... does the market have the liquidity to allow BILLIONS of dollars worth of bitcoin to be sold without it causing a major drop in price? ..... I'm not so sure.

But, I dunno... There might be alot of new money coming in if the price starts going apeshit again. Who knows.

In any case, I have one foot in and one foot out. You've got to play the game to win right?

I do local BTC/FIAT arbitrage in London.. and recently met up with some rather pompous university professor wannabe btc trader guys who literally laughed in a snide way amongst themselves after I suggested the price might fall dramatically this year, instead of a major increase.

Being a contrarian isn't all that fun..... until the market proves you right that is Cheesy

Chart-wise things do look like it did pre-pump back in 2013. So something big is DEFINITELY on the horizon. It's gonna be interesting to see how it all pans out
24  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Your first bitcoins came from.. (faucets aside) on: May 15, 2016, 12:31:00 PM
LocalBitcoins, cash trade. 2013 just prior to the major run upwards in price.

I first saw bitcoin when it was priced @ £30 per 1 BTC... and I remember thinking to myself "yeah right, asif I'd pay £30 for JUST one bitcoin." I though it was some rogue currency, like LR. Then two years later I stumble across an article about crypto currencies and saw that the price per BTC had grown to £140. That's when I bought my first single coin... after doing more research I started purchasing larger and larger amounts.

In 2013 every single day on blockchain.info there was this "NEW ALL TIME HIGH" alert on the charts. It was very exciting, hopefully we see something similar in July Wink
25  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH is good for BTC on: May 13, 2016, 09:40:02 PM
It doesn't have to be "either, or" when it comes to crypto currencies. Though there isn't any specific reason for anyone to use Ethereum, it doesn't detract from Bitcoin or any other currency.

I believe that an ecosystem of currencies is far more healthier than have one dominant platform
26  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Buying large lots of BTC for cash in London, UK on: May 12, 2016, 11:29:33 AM
So your only buying btc in person?

Ofcourse, for obvious safety reasons. Or if you're desperate to conduct the trade online, I can set up an ad on LocalBitcoins and we can use their escrow service

But ideally, would prefer to meet at a local bank or somewhere with security to conduct the deal

I am buying everyday so all interested bulk sellers can feel free to get in contact to set something up
27  Economy / Currency exchange / Buying large lots of BTC for cash in London, UK on: May 11, 2016, 01:12:50 PM
Hey guys,

I am currently buying £25,000 lots of BTC @ -6% Bitstamp price per coin

Willing to meet with miners, or anyone else that is selling large lots of BTC, at a Bank or post office in London (or any other high security location), UK to conduct a deal

Thanks

29  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Time Lock feature? on: May 11, 2016, 12:56:22 PM
I'm pretty sure that the time lock feature has always been built into the protocol and thus able to be used. You can create and sign a transaction that won't be confirmable until a certain criteria has been met. There are various command line tools that can be used to build such transactions. You can then store the private key on a portable device such as a flash drive.

We routinely execute this variant of transaction as a way to initialize digital non disclosure agreements and other contractual transactions
30  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who is a "core dev" ? on: May 11, 2016, 11:03:42 AM
interesting data here. Have been looking for a list like this to make a distinction between members of the foundation and actual core devs

31  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Put some Respeck On Craig Wright's name on: May 10, 2016, 08:49:51 AM
Sure... a newbie claiming that we are wrong in being sceptic... man, this it bitcoin world. We learned it the hard way to be sceptic. And no, there is no proof yet. So you are nothing more than a believer.

Believe what you wish... and yes, I am a believer. I gain more from building people up, praising them and making them feel good/better about themselves - because that makes me feel better.

You get back everything you put out. In fact, you get it back tenfold.

So, no. I'm not a "skeptic...." If I were, I wouldn't be involved with digital currencies at all. There is nothing cool about being skeptical... all that does is shut of the creative capacity of your brain, which slows your development as a human being. Therefore literally making you sub-human.

Tearing people down, insulting people... making a nuisance of myself... jumping on the bandwagon... following the sheeple... is all completely ridiculous and void of any logic whatsoever. I mean, I'm really going to sit infront of my computer and type a bunch of hateful/snideful remarks and comments against some individual that I've never met before? Is this what people use technology for?

If you're going to sit infront of your computer for more than 1 hour a day, then please let it be because you're building something innovative and adding to the plight of furthering the advancement of humanity.

Tearing people down is so counter productive, and produces nothing tangible in reward

2016 should be the year that trolling becomes obsolete and just some illogical, embarrasing, and "never to be talked about again" trait of human history, that we purged ourselves of via evolution. It is such a bore to witness... people really should evaluate themselves if that is how they're spending/wasting the gift of life. Trolling people they have never met, will never meet, and know nothing about.

You should be using the internet to build connections with people, not to behave in ways that you wouldn't in a person to person / face to face setting. We should all embrace adulthood and leave this kind of behavior in the past.

No one here knows Craig Wright personally. So any assumption made here, can and will never be rooted in fact. So any conclusion that anyone comes to can only be rooted in ignorance. No matter which side of the fence you're on.

If I'm going to be ignorant, then I'd rather my version of ignorance have bundles of positivity, good energy, and respect for humanity attached to it - rather than the opposite. Causing offence and propagating ridicule isn't cool. It isn't classy and the truth is no one would enjoy having this kind of tarnishing directed an them - so why do it to others?

32  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Put some Respeck On Craig Wright's name on: May 07, 2016, 09:50:25 AM
I see your point. Craig has done some work on Bitcoin and deserves respect for that. Even if he messes up now, it shouldn't change the value of his previous contributions. That makes sense - but yeah - the media will not see it this way. They have lost credibility (or would have if they had any) and now are out of blood.

Personally, I think he went crazy. Kinda like if Einstein published a 'proof' that the earth is flat, years after his theory of Relativity.

That's the thing about innovators... to think up an entire concept that has never been implented before, and actually bring it to fruition, you have to go against all known and accepted forms of logic/common sense. Which, on the surface, resembles insanity

It's funny that ALL of the innovative technologies that are now so normal, and taken for granted were created by individuals that were branded as: insane

I mean, inputs and outputs on a 'triple entry' digital ledger is what we're using as money in 2016?

To someone that was involved with the legacy banking systems in even as recent as the 1980's looks at this blockchain system and feels entirely justified when he says "this is madness, it will never work."

LCSociety, surprised you are posting tonight - shouldn't you be watching the Ancient Aliens marathon?

Human beings are clearly the odd ones out on this planet bro. So, no, not watching the marathon.. I'm LIVING the ancient alien marathon. We all are  Wink

33  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Put some Respeck On Craig Wright's name on: May 07, 2016, 02:29:08 AM
Craig Wright should not be dismissed as some incompetent satoshi impostor, because that's what the social engineers at the BBC what you to believe. They want to discredit this guy until his word no longer holds any weight and has zero meaning. Which is only a danger to the rest of us because when Craig decides to really spill some beans and let us in on other intricate details - it'll be swept under the rug, and laughed off as a "hoax."

Not cool at all... especially when there are individuals here that have made millions due to the creation of this currency

Instead of defending the guy against "the establishment" that we're all supposed to hate... we join their tar and feathering party. Shows that some people here would rather continue to live under the thumb of their governments than to rebel in an authentic way.. and that's a shame
34  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Put some Respeck On Craig Wright's name on: May 07, 2016, 02:10:09 AM
What you are talking about is new age interpretation, and is not what was taught and understood for over 6000 years.

Just because it was "taught" doesn't make it the truth

35  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Put some Respeck On Craig Wright's name on: May 06, 2016, 10:56:30 PM
1. Constantine, Roman Emperor change the Sabbath day from Saturday,
to Sunday by decree to "differentiate ourselves from the Jews". It was not
a fundamental teaching of Jesus or by early Christians.

The story of Jesus is similar to the story of Horus... and the other "Sun deities."

Time itself is literally the tracking of the movement of the sun. .

Infact all of our energy comes from the sun, in indirect ways. Hence why we have a soul... soul being a variation of the word solar - hence solar energy

Horus is where the word hours comes from.. also the words horizon, horoscope etc

In egyptian mythology, Horus had an "evil" brother named Set... Hence, Sun-set

Look at the cues though... In the bible, jesus was a human being.. and referred to as the child of god, so therefore was a god. The bible perscribes the same "children of god" moniker as it does to Jesus himself.

So is Jesus a metaphor for the entire human race? Possibly so

2. When they speak of the Son in terms likened to the Sun/Light,
it is not purposefully interchangeable. It is metaphorical, and romanticized,
and from the early pagan religions. It was incorporated, but is not literal.
When certain books that were included into New Testament later, were written,
they understood Jesus to be God's Son in the spiritual and physical sense, they
did not mean that he was literal the Sun of our Solar System come down

It isn't metaphorical, nor is it romanticized.

The current bible was commissioned by King James IV, who was an illiterate.. and so hired mystics to write his version of the bible.

King James had to fight wars abroad and so didn't have the ability to place one of his soldiers on every street to manage the serfs, so the purpose of the bible was literally to control the minds of the populace - and promote self policing etc by propagation of alleged spiritual consequences for breaking the "ten commandments"

These mystics knew that if they were to reveal potent truths in the bible, they'd be murdered. So they were smart about it.

Very smart about it

Look at the story of Adam and Eve, in which it is said that God cut adam open and used one of his ribs to create Eve.

Well, the original name was not Adam, it was Atum... (u/o interchangeable) Atum = Atom. God cutting adam open to create Eve = the splitting of the Atom which is what creates energy.

The Bible is literally laced with science and truths, that you really have to decode

3. There were many more constellations then just 12 during Jesus's time and
most people knew that then. They probably had over 30 recognized constellations
that people all understood and agreed with, throughout the Roman Empire then

First time i've heard this... so can't pass opinion until I've done some research. But, it does ring true

During the days of the roman empire, the government were known for adding/subtracting entire months from the calendar to prolong their office terms

October... Oct = 8, yet october is the tenth month? Sept = 7, yet september is the ninth month?

So I can see this being true

5. Easter (Christian) comes from the Pagan Easter which celebrated seasonal rebirth.
Constantine, the Roman Emperor declared the Christian's Easter be on the same day as
the Pagan's in order to subvert the Pagan's holiday and ultimately dilute it over time.
Constantine was the first Roman Emperor to declare the Pagan Gods dead and wanted all
inhabitants of the Roman Emperor to convert to Christianity, as the official Roman religion.

36  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would Bitcoin not have been a better option for Zimbabwe? on: May 06, 2016, 09:52:40 PM
So you are claiming the 3.2 trillion dollars China holds in dollars and euros are not real?

Of course not. If so, verify this without using cliches.

Lately, they have been doing a whole lot more selling than buying as have most emerging economies. That is why the dollar has risen 35% against a basket of world currencies since 2008.

China is propping up the dollar? Why on earth would it do that?

Think logically... this doesn't make sense... Once you US pays them their money, yes - prop up the dollar, this is logical. But not when the US owes them shit pile of money.

They'd rather collect more dollars, and then they'd run some manipulation. If they were to do that without being paid first, they are literally giving more money to the US - the peasant state of the world, thus increasing this debt that they'll never be able to pay back

Forget comparing the USD to other FIAT currencies... it is a dog and pony show. Since it's inception the US dollar has only gone DOWN, in terms of purchasing power.

What that means, to the "9 to 5 slave" like me is that if I travel to Europe or Asia my dollars have about 35% more buying power than they did just a few years ago. Contrast with Bitcoin which has 50% less buying power than it did at its recent peak.

In practice, you'd find this to be untrue

Price always adjust to negate things like this

This is economics 101

Wait, Nigeria and Zimbabwe are richer than US?

Errm yeah.. yes.. yah.. indeed. Which expression would your prefer?

Ask yourself how does the United states government generate income for itself? Then ask yourself how the government of nigeria generates it's income...

You'd find that Nigeria is more economically sound than the US

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_external_debt

US owes (and has failed to pay) : $17.5 Trillion

NGA owes: 68 Billion

That is a world of difference

Nigeria's oil minister, one person.... Was found with £13 BILLION gbp hidden in an apartment of hers: http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/6675651/Nigerian-oil-minister-nicked-over-13billion.html

68 Billion is childs play

37  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would Bitcoin not have been a better option for Zimbabwe? on: May 06, 2016, 09:36:47 PM
the world's largest military

Wrong China has had the world's largest military for years now.

But, I know... the US propaganda machine is strong... don't worry... We have the internet now: http://www.worldatlas.com/articles/29-largest-armies-in-the-world.html

http://www.worldatlas.com/articles/29-largest-armies-in-the-world.htm

OK, you will whine, but state and local taxes will kill them. Not really. Many states like Texas, Nevada, and Florida have no state income tax and sales tax rates across the US are very modest. Many counties also have no local income taxes and many areas have extremely low real estate taxes of less than 1% of the home value per year.

Low tax... is better than no tax?

They dont charge one penny of employment tax in Saudi Arabia. Because they have the oil barrels to end all oil barrels.

The only source of income for your beloved US is their QE and Tax fraud that they perpetrate on their citizens. What is the number one rule when it comes to pyramid schemes and ponzi scams? Eventually, they MUST collapse

You clearly drank too much of that Detroit tap water. Full of nasty neurotoxins, that. Should have invested in Evian.
- I have no Aunt Sally, in Detroit or elsewhere.
- Made actual folding money from Bitcoin enthusiasts like yourself.
- Don't care about negative interest rates, keeping your money in a savings account is the second-dumbest thing to keeping it in BTC.
- Do not oppose the government. Not born in US, came here, like it just fine. Bitching would be a dick move.
- Swim to Nigeria, the prince is askin' for you.

Don't get how you made money when you converted to USD.

People don't understand the dollar does not have a fixed value. It literally decreases over time. Each and every one of you that convert into dollars and then sit there and say you "made money" make me laugh.

You've got to keep that sum bitch moving across the entire spectrum of asset classes, because there is action to be had EVERYWHERE. But being an economical noob, this has gone over your head. Not to worry, now that I've mentioned it - you'll never forget.

Send your Aunt sally in detroit an osmosis filter, because your government is financially crippled and unable to keep the lights in the white house on, let alone prevent your aunt from chocking on swamp water

38  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would Bitcoin not have been a better option for Zimbabwe? on: May 06, 2016, 09:28:22 PM
No, I got into Bitcoin because, at first, I was simply amused by the concept, for the same reason as I got into folding@home. Stayed in because it was easy money for a while -- because lunatics and zealots trying to get rich by doing nothing, and I knew the right people. Got out in the $600s on the way up because couldn't believe my luck.
Doubted my decision when the price hit $1200, but since then? No regrets.

Either way, you're converting into dollars. Therefore, you lost. There's an entire cloak room, jam packed, with SEVERAL bags of tricks that you missed

You degrade those living in the third world, yet brush over the fact that your aunt sally over in Michigan can't even have herself a warm cup of coffee anymore because of third world style water pollution. Not cool.

Your missing the point of crypto currencies in general, and I wont explain it to you Mr. "cashed out at $600 with no regrets." You clearly have it all figured out.... until those negative rates kick in. You'll be in a pickle then I tell ya

The fact is, when you compare any random nation in africa... Hell, Detroit is a piss stained landfill when compared with an economy like the one in Nigeria... The Oil capital of africa.

This government that you opose.... then defend.... then opose.... doesn't have the money to lift it's own citizens out of peril and pollution. So paying back this $17 TRILLION worth of external debt is a myth. Your precious dollar is due for some good old fashioned debasing which is taking place already, in a gradual and stealthy manner.

Familiar with the term creeping normality?  Creeping normality refers to the way a major change can be accepted as the normal situation if it happens slowly, in unnoticed increments, when it would be regarded as objectionable if it took place in a single step or short period.

Mud water out of Aunt sally's faucet is only the first sign of melt down

It means that 64% of all foreign exchange reserves are held in dollars. The next closest competitor is the Euro which accounts for 20% of world reserves.

Foreign exchange reserves are what you use to save your country when, for example, your currency tanks or your primary export crashes in value. See Saudi Arabia and Russia - their dollar and euro reserves are keeping them alive in the age of plummeting oil. It means the world has enormous trust in the dollar as the most stable hold of value.

Nobody holds or trusts Yuan outside of China.

Naughty boy... You're using cliches...

What in the world are foreign exchange "reserves?" If mere contributors to some online forum are able to expose the fact that when new dollars are printed into existence, the pre-existing supply loses value - you don't think these central bankers, finance ministers etc are aware of this?

And you want to tell me they are foolish enough to keep this shit pile currency in "reserve" so that their wealth can vanish into thin air. That's not their job.. that's the job of the everyday 9 to 5 slave that has been conditioned to "save" his money instead of investing it.

There are no "foreign exchange reserves"

This is folly, you have to do better than this.

39  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would Bitcoin not have been a better option for Zimbabwe? on: May 06, 2016, 08:52:52 PM
You are not only insane, but a freeloader to boot. No one is forcing you to live in Detroit. You don't like it, leave. You're a US citizen, get a frickin' job. Stop whining and demanding free osmosis water filters. Or go to Zimbabwe and be an entitled brat there. IF they'll take you Smiley

LOL, your government taxes the piss out of you and you call me a freeloader. The humor is A1

You shouldn't make assumptions. I'm certainly not a US citizen. Thankfully so.

You work like some kind of slave from 9 till 5, each day... and you're forced, via threat of imprisonment to furnish HUGE chunks of your income to your government.

This is nothing except indentured servitude. Slavery if you will.

Even worse, if your government stopped taxing you - they'd literally have zero money.

Their whole QE, tax scam is nothing other than the equivalent of a share buyback scheme. They print the dollars... deploy these dollars via loans, and then collect them back via taxation so that they can purchase MORE assets for themselves, before further depletion of the spending power of the dollar via more QE

The only reason you have involved yourself in this bitcoin ecosystem is because you have been raped, endlessly by your government. Yet, like Pavlov's dog, the statist conditioning kicks in yet again... and self proclaimed libertarians, anarchists, anti this and anti thats.... revert back to patriots when certain triggers are touched upon

Social engineering at it's finest
40  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would Bitcoin not have been a better option for Zimbabwe? on: May 06, 2016, 08:37:00 PM
They have water and can afford brand name bottled water

From a capitalist stand point. If I bottled up filtered tap water and got you to pay me up to $1.22 per bottle. Who is the smart one in that scenario.... The buyer, or the seller?

You want freebie osmosis water filters from your government? WTF have you done for it lately? Where's that entitled special snowflake attitude coming from, bro? Get a job, buy your own frickin' osmosis water filter

LOL people in Flint will literally be dead if they continue to drink that poisonous water

The US has a networth of $123.8 Trillion dollars as someone posted earlier.

Supplying osmosis filters is the least they can do

lol, this Detroit idee fixe of yours, what up with that? Don't like Detroit? You got legs, walk away. Or swim to Zimbabwe, they need thinking fellers like yourself over there. You''ll be fartin' through silk in no time Smiley

I dont have any issue at all with Detroit. It's just, I'd expect the government to do something when such a large amount of their population are being forced to ingest poisonous substances that could cause severe health complications

Your government does not care for your health

Your government does not care for your wealth... Hence their QE scams, and whey they relentlessly tax each and every one of you. How does it feel, when you realise that each and EVERY financial transaction that you have ever intiated on US soil has been taxed off and filtered into the pockets of the same government, that is now sitting on the sidelines, watching you guys suffer and offering ZERO relief

I dunno man... Doesn't seem righteous at all to me.
