21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cloud storage isn't safe place for your wallet keys on: November 15, 2020, 02:23:48 AM
There are many members of the crypto community who entered into it without making little steps of due diligence and research first. Knowledge in cryptocurrency safekeeping is a must. It must be understood and known even before they decide to buy their first cryptocurrencies. It is as important as understanding Bitcoin and cryptocurrency themselves. And one of the most basic in the dos and donts of keeping private keys is not to store it online.
22  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Yet another Defi platform got hacked again on: November 15, 2020, 01:49:47 AM
defi is not sustainable

True ,and there are many bugs that need to be fixed first before trusting your money in any defi project.

That hacked incident is the reason why you should avoid investing in defi project they need to make it more secure first to investors and review every possible bug before they launch. A mistake made by them is a lot of lost to investors.

They don't have to completely avoid investing in Defi projects. There are so many Defi projects which have already registered high returns. What they should do is to limit their investment in moderate amounts. They should be aware that the risk is high. There is high return as well. That is also the positive side of Defi. The potential to earn is there. But they should not lose sight of the risks involved. Defi is still struggling to achieve a better form.
23  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Avoid Bittrex! on: November 14, 2020, 03:12:39 AM
That could have been the very reason why your Bittrex account was blocked, the dormancy of your account for years. That is one of the usual reasons for complaints from people who have let their accounts go dormant for years and then suddenly came back. That long period of inactivity and suddenly a return is a trigger for exchanges to want to know whether the one who logs in is the same person who truly owns the account. That's a perfect recipe for them to require some KYC documents. It seems there is no other option but to comply with their request or let them have your funds. It is better to opt for complying. After all, you've already submitted those information when you have your account verified.
24  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Yet another Defi platform got hacked again on: November 14, 2020, 01:48:34 AM
It has been warned over and over again that Defi is not yet in its best form right now and so it is more vulnerable to attacks as of this infancy stage than it will be in the future after years of development. There are still some loopholes that needed some fixing ang polishing. This is the reason why experts are advising Defi investors to do it slow and small with it. The risk is high. And there is sufficient data to support that, not just this latest attack.
25  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Be very cautious with your alts this period, you either sell early or hold. on: November 13, 2020, 02:05:49 AM
Always be cautious with your alts, many of them will suddenly die not because Bitcoin's price surged but because they are nothing but scams. Hodl only very carefully picked altcoins. The rest you better sell for Bitcoin because Bitcoin's price is going to double more easily than those cheap altcoins. It may be hard to imagine a $16,000-priced coin to more easily double than a $.0001-priced altcoin but that is the reality with Bitcoin.
26  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin continues the positive trend today, is the altcoin market in trouble? on: November 13, 2020, 01:22:58 AM
It depends on the altcoins that you are holding. If you are holding ETH then I think you are not in a bad position really. ETH has its own rally although much weaker than Bitcoin's. But that does not mean you need to sell your ETH. ETH is growing in itself.

And don't assume that Bitcoin's rally always means altcoins crashing. Remember the last time Bitcoin rallied so hard and got an ATH out of it? It was also the time when altcoins also rallied and made their own ATHs.
27  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Turkey as a sponsor in a football match on: November 12, 2020, 01:40:51 AM
Wow. That's another nice promotion of Bitcoin in a big event attended by thousands of people. But isn't BtcTurk a name which a lot of the people in the audience are probably not familiar of? I mean, they might only disregard it because it doesn't ring a bell in them. Isn't it more catchy if they just put Bitcoin in there rather than BtcTurk? If the OP is confused at first if it has anything to do with Bitcoin, it must also be true to the audience watching the game.
28  Economy / Economics / Re: Would you like to become a co-owner of a world bank? on: November 12, 2020, 01:06:23 AM
What Satoshi wanted was not for us to co-own a bank or a world bank. Satoshi wanted each one of us to be our own independent banks. That means there are no more banks which are operating on behalf of someone else's fund or money. The banks that we know of today are managing people's funds, keeping them, making money out of them, and sometimes withholding them from the owners themselves as if they have the authority to give them back or not.

I don't like to become a co-owner of any bank. I just want to be my own bank.
29  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Values of Bitcoin & Altcoin are correlated on: November 11, 2020, 02:41:09 AM
The historical charts do not only provide a single pattern. Which means that there is really no 100% direct correlation between Bitcoin and altcoins. There were numerous times in the past when the price of Bitcoin is rising while the prices of altcoins are falling. There were also numerous times in the past when the price of Bitcoin as well as the prices of altcoins are all increasing at the same time. So there is really no single pattern.
30  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: We need more decentralized stablecoins on: November 11, 2020, 02:00:57 AM
Stablecoins should all be decentralized. If they are not decentralized, they better not exist at all. They are just posing unnecessary risks to their users who are mostly clueless of how they work.

If possible, these stablecoins should not even exist at all. They're fiat after all. They do not belong to the world of cryptocurrencies.

The only thing I know about stable coins is we can use them very well if Bullrun comes will happen and we can quickly convert our BTC or other cryptocurrencies to it without worrying about getting stuck in a congested network when most of the people converting their crypto assets to fiat. However, I don't really know if stable coins are risky but all I know they help a lot regarding how useful they are.

Is that the only reason why stablecoins exist? If that is the only benefit you can see in stablecoins, then stablecoins indeed don't have much value. They are very much dispensable. Cryptocurrency exchange could always consider providing fiat with cryptocurrency pairs. That happens already, in fact.

As far as I read, USDT for example is very risky. Various crypto fans are already warning others on the use of USDT.

32  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum (ETH) or Bitcoin Cash (BCH) which has the brighter future? on: November 10, 2020, 01:43:14 AM
Ethereum (ETH) or Bitcoin Cash (BCH) which has the brighter future?

According to my opinion, BCH has much more brighter future than ethereum since in previous bitcoin ATH, BCH traded against bitcoin in the price of 0.74 BTC. Thats why investing in BCH is worth more this time instead of putting all of your money in ethereum. Ethereum transaction fee is also raised too much at this time. I am not diverting the attention of the people but it is true. What do you think?

Bitcoin Cash (BCH) has a dark future, perhaps as dark as TRON's future. Bitcoin Cash (BCH) has nothing to offer to the crypto community except misleading marketing strategies and false claims. What is so special with Bitcoin Cash (BCH) aside perhaps from the borrowed name in its name? Without falsely claiming to be the real Bitcoin and selling their coins to innocent newbies, Bitcoin Cash (BCH) would have already been dead. Oh well they have a rich team by the way.
33  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Tezos going to be next Ethereum? on: November 10, 2020, 12:59:31 AM
No. There is no such thing as next Ethereum. There will be one and only Ethereum and the rest of the altcoins that wanted to be on Ethereum's track will be different and will just be following Ethereum. How many times have we heard of altcoins claiming to be the next Ethereum? I heard that from Binance (BNB), Cardano (ADA), etc. So far, Ethereum is still the one and only.

Tezos has always been an incredible project. It should push forward not under the shadows of Ethereum but on its own light. It could very well compete as Tezos and not as the next Ethereum.

You got  a point here, even EOS was tag as the next Ethereum..TRON...etc. They could be a  great rival to Ethereum  and thats it. Ethereum has carves its name on its own and even innovate something that is different from bitcoin. Each new coin must have its own innovation and path not just like copying what is in ETH had done.

EOS has failed to unseat Ethereum from its top position although it was promising at the start. There were many projects built on the EOS blockchain. But they simply cannot compete closely with Ethereum.

TRON was a failure from the very beginning. The project is a copy-paste without any innovation. It was an imitation shitcoin.

For now Ethereum is beyond reach of any competitor.

35  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can Trezor wallet store Chainlink? on: November 09, 2020, 03:32:42 AM
If it's not supported it cannot be kept there. But, as mentioned above, you can store it in Trezor Beta. Hopefully, it will be supported by Trezor very soon.

If you really want to keep some good amount of Chainlink in a hardware wallet, you could also do it with a Ledger wallet. You could make Link deposits using your Ethereum app on Ledger.
36  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Yet another article: Is Bitcoin an Asset a Commodity or a Currency? on: November 09, 2020, 02:43:17 AM
For the nth time we will again discuss and debate on whether Bitcoin is an asset or a currency. It is as if we can only be allowed to choose either one of the two. Why don't we just accept the fact that Bitcoin could be treated as an asset and as a currency. You could buy Bitcoin as a form of investment but you could also buy Bitcoin and then spend it as a currency.
37  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Targets for 2020 on: November 06, 2020, 01:44:20 PM
Yes, I'm very positive on that. Bitcoin gave us a $6k-growth in just a matter of two months. I cannot find any convincing reason why it cannot give us just another $4k plus in another two months. The momentum is here. The adoption is here as well. The institutional investors are also here. There is really no reason why Bitcoin would not achieve $20k this year.
38  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: should i invest to this project ? on: September 26, 2020, 04:16:11 AM
This project does not seem to offer anything special. It is like one of the copy-paste projects which have very little potential. But I have not done a deep research of the project. I just visited their social media account.

If you are serious in investing in this project, do your own very careful research. If in the end you still have doubts, invest only a small amount or don't invest at all. I repeat, the way I see it, it is not worth investing.
39  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Less Volatile Coins on: September 25, 2020, 04:18:52 AM
I am a newbie on this forum and I have read my posts that people complaining how they lost their fund as a result of investing on Volatile coin like BTC. Is it now advisable for newbie like me to invest on less Volatile coin like Tether or Gemini USD.

Then you are not investing. If you want to invest, then you need to realize that there is such a thing as 'the higher the risk the higher the return.' It does not happen with Tether or Gemini USD because those two are stable coins. Literally, their value is stable which is pegged on the USD. So nothing will happen with your investment in those two coins. It is not even investment. The value of those two coins are equivalent to fiat. They are like fiat also.

With BTC, the price is volatile that is why there is a potential profit. There is no profit if there is no rise and fall of prices.
40  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain and Bitcoin adoption globally. What is the cause of the slow pace. on: September 24, 2020, 02:24:37 PM
It is not slow but it is also not very fast or instant. This is understandable because the technology is one which is really new and really disruptive to the old traditional system, which has made conventional things in finance the daily norm of everyone. Everyone has been comfortable with the products of the traditional system like fiat or banking services. And the people behind this system are the most powerful, so powerful that even governments are under their payroll. And the governments are the ones that will determine the acceptance of Bitcoin and crypto. So it must take some time for them to really see the benefits of Bitcoin.
