Is there any investigation on the people who had sent in their KYC previously?
Is this a honeypot for officials?

Would be good to protect customers as well with some of these doubts cleared before reopening.

I asked the same question to official, and they verbally said as the total volume is very low - they wont go in dept investigations. But as of now they just know more people who are interested in bitcoins i would say.

All customers were informed that the KYC docs were collected by IRS in an email.

So this implies that as the volume gets high, they will get into investigation?

Why not?

You do realize you need a provably secure way to generate the random number, otherwise, ... well you know what could happen.
Maybe as follows:
take SHA256 of all the usernames concatenated who posted in that order. Take the result mod x, where x is the total number of users who posted. That number is the winner.

25  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Ripple documentation required on: April 01, 2013, 09:29:51 AM
Hi,

Can someone point me to a site with good ripple documentation? I need to understand how ripple works and how it can be used to make more local exchanges in a decentralized manner.
My background is programming (C++, Java), understanding of pub key crypto, etc., and Bitcoin.

Some of my questions:
* What exactly is Ripple? Why are so many people talking about it?
* How does a ripple transaction work? Is there a public blockchain, etc? Who keeps track of tx?
* How anonymous, irreversible and decentralized is it, compared to Bitcoin?
* What are a few use-cases of Ripple?

Please if any left, I'd like some. Thanks in advance!

Can you add documentation about ripple on the site? I am interested in knowing how it works, for example in setting up a Ripple gateway.

29  Local / India / Setting up BTC <--> INR exchange in India on: November 02, 2012, 09:15:49 AM
Hi guys,

I am thinking of setting up a bitcoin exchange exclusively for Indians. Still working out the legalities of this. However, there are two options. Need your suggestions:

1. We will sell/buy BTC directly from users.
2. We will act as an exchange like MTGOX and act as an intermediary between the users.

Please point me to the right information for setting up something like this.
The idea is to make it easier to buy and sell bitcoins in India. Apparently it is easy to obtain bitcoins here but quite difficult to get rid of them.

Regards
