21  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Are memecoins tarnishing the image of crypto? on: November 30, 2023, 09:54:21 PM
I don't think so, of course there are several scams among memecoins, but they are also very effective expanding awareness about crypto, especially among the young people and those less interested in  finances or tech

They are also a good way to learning about crypto ecosystem, start trading with low risk (and potentially good returns in a bull run) and to learn how to spot a scam among new projects

Overall, I would say memecoins are less damaging than other things like valueless NFTs promoted by pseudo-celebrities or centralized exchanges running on unproven reserves
22  Local / Trading y especulación / Re: [Noviembre 2023|Se Avecina... el 2024: Y? on: November 30, 2023, 08:18:38 PM
23  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Do you think faucets are dying? on: November 30, 2023, 06:08:51 AM
Yes, as a guy who used to have fun with faucets 8 or 10 years ago I would say they're dying

But as a guy with a business mind I would say faucets are useful marketing tools and people are wasting them, a faucet can do wonders for your gambling site, your new altcoin/token project, your offer wall and other things, but right now I see neither crypto projects making smart use of faucets, besides freebitco.in or users trusting them too much

24  Other / Meta / Re: Has Bitcointalk lost it's appeal for projects to announce themselves on? on: November 30, 2023, 01:56:31 AM
It's mostly segmentation at work and the target audience of several among the new projects, the forum retains its appeal mainly to announce crypto (specially BTC) related products, services and 'true,' altcoins with their own blockchain, some token or nft projects with a particular or less exploited features and goals also find it attractive

It's far less appealing for generic tokens and "buy my nft because it's a nft" type projects and outright hostile to CEX and custodial wallet projects, but here is where the target audience plays its role, these projects aim mostly at users who are new in crypto and no very experienced, yet.

25  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the largest meme coin ever? on: November 30, 2023, 01:10:20 AM

Yes that's quite right... You're referencing Dogeparty. I made several tokens on it back then... Several people were making meme tokens upon a memecoin, and thanks to the reboot of 2021, they are once again doing so today. The most popular Dogeparty token series is probably the Rare Doge collection, which is Dogecoin's answer to Bitcoin's Rare Pepes.

Yes, I remember both the original Dogeparty and the 2021 reboot, and I know that, albeit not very big Dogeparty's community is pretty active and funny. Memetokens powered by the king of memecoins haha

i honestly don't remember doge support tokenization though since its just ordinary blockchain and until now there's no way to create token under the platform since it doesn't implement smart contract functionality.
but its indeed among the first coin to be released i think if im not mistaken and also earliest meme coin ever.

This, Dogeparty has been around since 2014, along with Counterparty and OMNI, it was among the first tokenization platforms.
26  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Looking for a feedback on the new project on: November 29, 2023, 04:17:53 AM
The way you describe the "hybrid" aspect makes sense, but you should phrase it carefully in order to avoid giving the message "we are a way to survey your trading even when you use a noncustodial wallet" you know, we crypto users are a very "special" target audience

On the other hand, I agree with previous posters that it wouldn't appeal to the very security oriented users and about your alpha test deserving its own  announcement
27  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Israel is scary on: November 29, 2023, 01:04:10 AM
Israel's "nuclear opacity" policy originates no just the fear OP shows, but also is the origin of several conspiracy theories and "maybe true, maybe myths" ideas, the two main ones are:

The above mentioned idea about Israel and apartheid era South Africa developing together weapons of mass destruction, allegedly culminating in their first functional nuke

And the "Samson Option" thing, about Israel aiming those alleged nukes to everyone around including their own allies and ready to launch them in case of imminent military defeat

Maybe too fantastic, but again, we likely will never know for sure
28  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the largest meme coin ever? on: November 28, 2023, 11:22:23 PM
Doge is still the biggest, is among the few 'true,' decentralized altcoins and pioneered several things, few people know that Doge was the second blockchain to support a tokenization platform, back in 2014

Of course, Shiba has grown, has good qualities and is the main contender

30  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Zugacoin vs bitcoin. on: November 28, 2023, 07:32:10 PM
As far as I know zugacoin was a literal Nigerian scam, a coin "created" (more likely he paid the devs and marketing team) by someone who can be generously described as a naive religious man (if you're suspicious you will be more likely to label him as a charlatan who hides himself behind religion)

Here you have an article with its history, though too kind to its creator IMO

31  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Crypto resale trading strategy, P2P Does anyone trade like this? on: November 28, 2023, 04:59:33 AM
Yes, totally, back in the day when DEXs were a rarity I used to do arbitrage between the biggest spot exchanges of the day and the old Counterparty and Omni DEXs, actually some of my most profitable trades (by percentile respect to my initial buy) were direct arbitrage of counterparty "assets" (what today we would call tokens) between theirDEx and spot exchanges...

...Buuut, don't take offense, but both your numbers and this part

I also now use a more profitable scheme, unfortunately I cannot publish it here for everyone.

Quick contact with me in Telegram

makes me think you're here to shill yet another "winning trading strategy" rather than to simply discuss about arbitrage trading

33  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Why Localbitcoin take this action ? on: November 28, 2023, 01:42:16 AM
As far as I know they had mentioned about some losses that they were going through while running the website .
Have you then ........... P2P in their model went bankrupt even before them, and a few like Paxful that are left are ...

I didn't really do a research on this but I am surprised about the loss thing since in P2P it shouldn't be the company bearing losses since the trade should be between the people. Maybe, heavy taxes could be reason behind it? LBTC had its headquarters in Finland ?

They shouldn't bear loses derived from prices drop, as a p2p exchange, that's especially true if you take into account that a bear market is often accompanied by high volume of people trying to dump their coins and others trying to buy at the lowest

That's why I think they "crypto winter" refers to the costumers migration after the KYC implementation. As I noted before, that is my case
34  Economy / Economics / Re: When Was the Last Time you Came Across a Positive Economic News? on: November 28, 2023, 12:14:53 AM
There is a good deal of positive news about the economy... in specialized economic news outlets, the general public perception about the economy is "always is bad for me" and this public likes to see their bias confirmed in the news, Carlyle's definition as "the dismal science" is the right one in the common people's mind

35  Economy / Economics / Re: Why is Bitcoin always affected on: November 27, 2023, 10:37:13 PM
People tend to forget bitcoin (and other true decentralized cryptocurrencies) are traded in true free, 24/7 markets, trade doesn't stop when the price falls too hard, and there is not "weekend effect" in crypto market nor a central authority trying to "correct" the price

It means in practice big investors find way easier to close their btc positions in a particularly bad market than with other assets, and actually those big investors see crypto as an "easy to take and sell, prone to big bullish runs" asset and find no objections to dump it first and faster than traditional investments

37  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Why Localbitcoin take this action ? on: November 27, 2023, 03:33:32 AM
Sad, yeah? Localbitconis was the first p2p exchange I ever used (as you can see in this account creation date, I have been into crypto for some time)

Back in the day before 2019 I used to trade btc for cash in person, via localbitconis, is still the exchange I have used more for crypto to fiat trades, but with the kyc/aml after that I found easier to search in social media groups for small amount p2p trades

That's why I think was the kyc/aml what caused the user base to migrate, was my case

Btw, I agree Binance p2p and the likes are not true p2p
38  Local / Español (Spanish) / Re: Javier Milei y Criptos, lo que se viene. on: November 27, 2023, 01:29:49 AM
Me vienen a la mente 3 cosas, las dos más inmediatamente importantes para el hilo serían;

39  Economy / Economics / Re: Economic power on: March 06, 2023, 05:53:16 AM
The most essential power

More like the only real power

Political power is essentially a way to coordinate, direct and finally take advantage of the economic power of all agents in a given population

Military power is a way to protect economic power, and also a consecuence of said economic strenght
40  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are you planning to accumulate for 2025 on: March 06, 2023, 04:40:56 AM
For long term I will go with BTC, Doge, Shiba, XMR, I have abit less faith in ETH and BNB but will keep some just in case, still those two are my first choices to sell if I need to cash out some of my portfolio
