May you elaborate on how exactly is possible to import an existing wallet from the official command line client, to the mymonero.com platform?
Just login with your 25 word seed, and you'll be prompted to go through the import process:) I did, it just imported the private spend key and the public receiving address, BUT didn't import the previous transactions and balances. For the txs and balance, 10 xmr should be paid in the simple wallet, for which I have to download the whole blockchain again to get access to my wallet fund to pay the 10 xmr, such a loop. So what is the point of importing when it doesn't remove the burden of downloading the whole blockchain??

wanna hear something funny? of course you do. i dont actually know how much monero i own. i dont remember how much it was, and i don't have enough ram on my computer to run the client and see, and i cant just look up the address on the explorer. ha! I do know that its less than i wish i had. https://mymonero.com/#/Import it. Is there any update to bitfreaks' encrypted web wallet? If yes, please re-post the link again.
No not yet, I've been sidetracked with BitShop updates and some other projects. I'm kind of putting it off because I know it's going to be a hassle for me to convert the existing brainwallet code into javascript which can correctly sign a cryptonite transaction. I'm still willing to pay up to half a bitcoin to anyone who can do it for me, as I mentioned a few pages back. But I'm going to give it a shot within a few days because I doubt anyone else is going to do it any time soon. This is an important component to represent cryptonite advantage as a decentralized mobile payment service. Mini blockchain makes it possible to put everything in a browser, blockchain itself included.

It would be very helpful if the "import your private key" feature be added to the mymonero.com service.

For anyone interested in the anonymity paper discussed on the last page, I recently discovered that the author has created a revised version of the paper and has posted a thread in the altcoin discussion forum where it is being discussed in more detail: Anonymity in the Mini-Blockchain schemeA hypothetical question: suppose the author's scheme is feasibly workable and doable. Would you accept to implement it in your xcn, that means a hard fork at some point? Even with a hard fork I'm not sure it would be possible, the schemes are just too different. And like I said on the last page there are many good reasons to implement the idea as a separate altcoin, there are always disadvantages associated with anon coins and it's no different in this case. It's better to think of these two schemes as separate concepts which both use the mini-blockchain as the backbone. It's like the difference between Bitcoin and Monero. If you've ever used Monero you'll be very aware of its weak points, and you wouldn't argue for the implementation of the Monero ring signature stuff into Bitcoin. It's the same thing in this case, it would be illogical to try to merge this anonymity scheme into Cryptonite. I am totally agreed with you on this, actually I have noted your point several pages before: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=713538.msg8878266#msg8878266

@bitfreak: does that " 7- block mixing, sidechains.." part mean that you already have chosen/invented a scheme for mixing/anonymization to implement at the core level? Did I miss that part??

|

btw. is someone working on an android/iOs port?
Perhaps if bitfreak gets the browser based client complete (fully encrypted), we won't need that for a while.

I have a wallet (backup) in the .NET client version .36 from the past summer. For an unknown reason (to me), the client stopped working (including its new released versions up to .39). Does anybody know why?

This coin doesn't need a "pressure for pumping" approach, BUT it definitely needs some news coverage. That's simply because it needs a bigger user-base and economy to survive.. At least the mini-bloackchain concept and practice could be mentioned in one of coindesk or btcmagazine regular alts reports, but they are probably too busy with other stuffs like maidsafe, ethereum or swarm kind of IPO adevertisements, or speculating the BTC price destiny. They treated Nxt the same way by ignoring it during the last 10 months or so. Perhaps somebody closer should try to wake them up!?

@bitfreak: is there any new update about the lightweight browser-based wallet? I mean the full encrypted version..

Anonymity is a double edged sword: it may become a saver for people in some jurisdictions, but a stopping obstacle in other jurisdictions (big businesses dealing with legal enforcements). I also prefer it to be optional.

I didn't know jl777 is a coder?! As he didn't express himself so when he offered ripple gateway for Nxt exchange early this year..
Since XCN needs only a small blockchain load each time to proceed a tx, I wish to see a lightweight browser-based wallet for better mobility purposes. Or rather it has been released and I am not informed (?)
Seriously? Zelante just re-posted about the webwallet on the previous page!!! Hold on now, don't get your clicky-finger too tired, let me get that for you. Here you go: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=713538.msg8658309#msg8658309 ~ Myagui Thank you for the link!

Hey guys: be careful when buying from somebody who claims to offer huge amount of Nxt for a reduced price. You should first ask him/her to prove his/her ownership, and then start trading using a known trusted escrow.

Quick question: is there a white paper that describes in full detail how sidechains could be implemented? Or perhaps a thread somewhere? I've never actually seen a complete proposal. Right now distributed oracles seem the only possibility: https://github.com/orisi/wiki/wiki/Orisi-White-Paper - a paper describing m of n oracles + a few words on how it can be used for sidechains https://github.com/orisi/wiki/wiki/Mastering-Distributed-Oracles - a tutorial through the Orisi oracles http://gavintech.blogspot.com/2014/06/bit-thereum.html - Gavin Andersen explaining why M of N oracles might probably be the best solution for sidechains Distributed oracle sidechains have an obvious problem that you have to trust a selected number of entities to support the network. On the other hand they have two big benefits: - they require no changes in bitcoin protocol - it's possible to create a non-blockchain sidechain e.g. you could create a ripple-based bitcoin sidechain, or you could create a sidechain that keeps it's data within a tomp2p database Thank you very much for the links, time to read!
