21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: better to buy on: September 13, 2017, 05:43:56 PM
September is the month of blood pouring?
With the market this September I think Holding will also last longer, long-term investment is quite appropriate.
Keep it until you find the appropriate price to sell.

I think it is better to hold the good coins such as Bitcoin, Ethereum or Bitcoin Cash when the price is crashing.

I'm using Great Wall 1250W for rig of 6 cards 1070. Until now it's going smooth.

I think that is the same as the OCZ 1250W.

Hello,

This would be pure speculation, I know, this is more of a "what would you do?" question.

I bought $2,000 US worth of ETH when it was trading at $240 US. I see some analysts saying that ETH will hover around $320-390 before a crash happens. I am sure it will rebound nicely after this supposed crash but would you sell ETH now while you're still in the green, keep the USD in your wallet and then re-buy when/if ETH falls?

Thanks in advance for any and all replies.
I suggest to hold for long term , but in the next time , you could choose a better point to buy in  .

I think the price now is quite a good one to buy into.

26  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH sell now then re-buy later? on: July 17, 2017, 07:36:48 AM
I had 2.99ETH on Bittrex. Sold 2 for BTC to stop losses, but re-bought one by 95% the price that I sold. I was thinking it would stop there, but is still falling.

I also sold the remaining 0.99ETH for LTC, got some 8LTC I think. But LTC is also falling (in relation to BTC), did I have a good choice? Or should I have sold all for BTC?

Now I'm with 1ETH in the exchange. Can't sell all, this would legitimize the damage.

There's also nearly 3ETH in three different wallets. Should I sell them?

There's a lot of things being developed for ETH, big companies have put money on it. I don't think this is the end.

I think it is better to keep the ETH for the long term.
27  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH sell now then re-buy later? on: June 26, 2017, 05:50:08 PM
Ethereum market is very volatile these days and it's extremely risky to make this sort of trades in ethereum. You better buy and hold or sell and exit.

I think it is better to buy when the price drops and hold for the long term.
28  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH sell now then re-buy later? on: June 16, 2017, 12:43:46 PM
Thank you everyone for the replies!

After posting this, the next morning (6/15/2017) ETH dropped at one point to $251 USD. But I did not sell any. Seeing how it recovered nicely (338.56 USD at the time of this posting) I think I will wait until it gets back to the $375-390 USD as that seems to be the current resistance level.

I currently have 6.8633 ETH coins. I believe it will reach the ~$370 price again tomorrow (hopefully). At that point I will sell 3 ETH coins to keep in my coinbase wallet, roughly half, and gain back $1,110 of my initial $2,000 buy in.

BTW, earlier this week I purchased the lenovo Y710 cube gaming PC with the AMD RX 480 8GB graphics card so I can start mining ETH coins. Based on rate for this graphics card, I should (in theory) be able to mine .5 ETH each month.

But I am curious, did anyone sell today (6/15/17)?

Good luck to all!
I have sold at ~$370 price before it dropped to $251 and im happy I made the right decision. For now I won't rebuy and I will wait for lower prices to rebuy. It was a nice move that you bought a gaming pc to mine ETH but you might also like to mine other altcoins with potential to grow. That way you will profit more, It is just up to you to choose the coin you will mine and believe in though but still eth mining would be nice if the price range we have now would not go lower.

Why do you think the ETH price will drop lower again?
29  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: zcash soon 0.2 btc! on: May 24, 2017, 06:46:26 AM
Zcash price as of now its 0.11 plus and I think The price of 0.2 bitcoin have possible to happen but no one can know when is the exact date but it will happen maybe this year 2017 or maybe 2018. I will bought more zcash coin when the price is cheap and Im very happy because they pump again . I will hold my zcash in few years because this coin have big potential to increase.  Op started this topic last year 2016 and for sure if they buy zcash and hold it until today they can earn a lot of profit because the price of zcash is high for me only

0.2 bitcoin is possible for the price to touch briefly.

MSI RX 470 Gaming X 4G wtih Hynix memorychip gives 21 mh/s in stock and 26 mh/s with modified firmware and OC'd.

I thought it should get around 28Mh/s

Hello

Which of you has successfully installed 7 gpu with asrock btc pro?

I can not boot with 7 gpu, and when I get to boot, I lose the driver or bsod, yet windows 10 recognizes my 7 gpu.

Do you use PCIE expander?

Hi guys, what do you think about the 7990s? I have 3 incoming and would love to have it to work Smiley I have integrated GPU on my CPU. Best to disable it I guess? What I am afraid of IF I do that I´ll lose headless function. As of now Teamviewer works perfect and no dummy plugs are needed.

What are my best bet to get this all working? I do have a "backup" plan, to use 2 7990s and one r9 280, which makes it a 5 GPU setup (if built in GPU is disabled that is).

7990 is mainly good for the ZEC mining. It is too slow for ETH mining due to the large DAG file.
33  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: zcash soon 0.2 btc! on: March 31, 2017, 07:10:17 AM
ZCash has a unique mining process based on the implementation of Genesis keys or "master private key", which is the responsibility of a small group of six individuals, only they have access. This is a crucial and necessary key for the anonymity mixer on the ZCash network to operate properly. If this key is leaked out of this small group however, the owner of this key will be able to produce an unlimited amount of ZCash, I hope these keys are pretty safe.

That is quite worrying. Is there a way to prevent the leak?
34  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Hashrate RX 470 on: March 23, 2017, 09:36:02 AM
Hi, i have

RX 470 Nitro+ 8GB (samsung) bios mod strap 1625 timing, -96mv, core 1050, mem 2050 = 74w @ 28,4Mh/s ETH

Its very efficient

The actual power from the wall should be more than 100W. Your value is from the GPUZ.

hm surprising,  on th wall 296w = 2x 470 8GB + i5-3450 @ 2core/1,6GHz 0,871v

I looked into hwinfo, there are several values. GPU core power, GPU chip power, GPU power in Vram.

So it could be -

GPU chip power GPU + VRM power in

70 + 49 = 119 * 2 = 238 watts Rx

119w per 1 RX 470 ist real?

-----

298-238 = 60 watts mother board + cpu, perhaps even minus 10% efficiency power supply.

The 119w per 1 RX 470 is about right.

So having a long breathe and being patient may really extremely pay off in for instance 10 years?!

If you have the money to invest, a long-term plan for owning Bitcoin is probably a good investment.
Even owning 1 Bitcoin would be a good idea for any investor.

I agree, on long term btc might become something that will change your (future) life!
I try to put at least 2 or 3 btc on a side every year, it's becomming harder with the rise of the price but can't say I'm unhappy about that xD

Id like to be able to put aside 2 or 3 bitcoin a year but thats looking ever more unlikely now due o bitcoin being so expensive. If 1k is the floor then it wont be long before people start talking more about satoshis and less about full bitcoins.

It might be likely now. but in the next few year, it is not very possible.
36  Economy / Speculation / Re: We all gonna be filthy rich and here is why: on: February 25, 2017, 10:57:35 AM
Bitcoin was and is alwaya HODL. I mean bull market.
Bears are all temporary. We are still in relatively early age of bitcoin so in couple of years these prices will look cheap.
I don't mean we will be all rich. I mean bitcoin will get popularity and adoption year after year and every rational in market knows this.

Definitely, Bitcoin is still young, Bitcoin users are tiny compares to the world's population.  This means the market is still unsaturated.  Just imagine if every month a tenth of 1 percent of the population adopt bitcoin, demand will flock in.  There is no other way for bitcoin but to increase in price. We just need to hold and be patient.

When the bitcoin price rises, it will attract more people to the bitcoin world. The user number will also increase.
37  Economy / Speculation / Re: Welcome back 2014! on: January 05, 2017, 05:33:16 PM
Its at 911 atm looking at preev.

Lets see what happend.

I sold a BTC at 980 dollars just to be sure.

The price is $950 now. So there is no need to worry.
38  Economy / Speculation / Re: We all gonna be filthy rich and here is why: on: December 22, 2016, 09:55:03 AM
I'm not going to be filthy rich because I started with very little capital, but despite several major fuck-ups I have more bitcoin than I ever bought and the price is higher than all prices I paid. I'm so grateful that there are so many stupid people out there who must have lost their fortunes to crypto traders over the past 3 years I've been here. I'm ready to chew up and spit out a new wave of clueless noobies, cheers.

If you save 1 bitcoin a year, you will be very rich.

40  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoins with BitCoin Like Growth Potential on: November 29, 2016, 12:30:18 PM
None. I won't let you dream of something that will never happen, that would be nasty toward you. Bitcoin is unique and likely to be never replaced, whatever some people will say you. Your best bet for a big profit is to buy Bitcoin using fiat money and then hold it for a few years.

It seems the block size will not be increased soon as many people do not agree with the block size increase, so it might not be so useful in the future.
