I thought asic's kept getting pushed back -- is litecoin a viable option for gpu mining?

Why do they have to be above a dollar? Isn't the whole idea of the bitcoin community based on the ideals of a free market?

Since the reward has been halved an people are theoretically turning off their GPU rigs; will there be people willing to loan their rigs to those with free electricity (like me) until they are paid off? Would even buy half the rig(s) upfront and then work lets them run to buy out the next half.

I'm curious why mining on nvidia cards is such a bad idea, is it simply because they are innefficient?

Hello, just introducing myself, Im mining on my old gtx 280 that i no longer use and some old computer stuff thats just been sitting around, at a whopping .10 cents a day now that the reward has been halved. But I dont pay for electricity -- Included in my living so its just for something out of interest.
