21  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't advice anyone to invest on Bitcoin if he doesn't have Alt. income on: May 29, 2024, 02:44:02 PM
Absolutely, having knowledge before investing in Bitcoin is crucial. I'm curious, what resources or strategies have you found most helpful in building that knowledge?
Personally I find that this forum itself is a good way to start your crypto journey. Sectioned in different boards, one can easily navigate their way through and find what they are looking for. They can also post and start a thread about a topic they are heavily curious about with lots of real people with real experiences. I like how it is community based unlike articles where there’s a tendency for the article to be biased.
To be honest, when I plan to invest in bitcoin, I spend most of my time exploring this forum and read every topic that attracts me. And in instances where I’m not satisfied with their answers, that’s only the time I’ll go for extended research but mostly, the forum itself is sufficient enough to provide reliable answers to the questions I have in my mind. The good thing in the forum is that we can find reputable members that offer us some useful links that will help us to get clearer understanding on the topic. I really appreciate those kind of people here.
22  Economy / Economics / Re: Would you prefer getting a loan for a startup or getting an investor? on: May 29, 2024, 01:00:56 PM
Finding an investor isn't always an "option" for many people. I mean I had so many business ideas before, just going around asking people to give you their hard earned money, for % of just your idea makes no sense. You ask them to pay you for your idea and that is just idea nothing more.

This is why most people can't find a way to get investors, since they have no working product to show. In that situation, most of them do not even look for a loan neither, they could ask for a loan from a bank, but they do not trust themselves, I didn't, that is why they get nothing. But if I know that something will make me some money, then I guarantee you that I would just straight up look for something like a loan, if possible for a long term, it would be a lot better.
I have to agree with you. Not all investors would easily trust your business idea that it’ll work and create profits. And if ever they will, they won’t treat you as a business partner but act as if they solely own the idea since it’s actually their own money that they’re going to risk. The reason why those with brilliant ideas never come into realization.

However, if I’m actually in this position being highly confident with my business idea that it will surely prosper, then if taking a loan would be disapproved, then maybe I have to try borrowing funds  from my family and friends and pay them with my monthly salary with interest. That way, I can move my brilliant idea into the next level, hoping that it would result into fruition.
23  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: May 29, 2024, 10:28:20 AM
Watched the highlights and yeah, CStand was amazing with his jumpshots but couldn't hit high percentage on his free throws hehe.

C Stand has improve his game, he needed that mid range jumper so he can still get some points even not close to the paint. And yes, his problem really is the FT, it's very low, I think he should change his form as I believe that can be develop. In fact, I think Gobert was worst than him in terms of FT, but look at Gobert now, his FT percentage is very high, he knew how to do the right timing when throwing the ball. I hope to see C. Stand improve in the future as with his size and height, it would be easy for him to get fouled, so his FT is one of the best weapon.

It's Game 6 today. After two straight wins by the Gin Kings, I think it's time for the Meralco Bolts to bounce back and even the series. Game 7 this coming Friday would be fun since they can expect a big crowd, and of course, when there's a crowd, Ginebra is most likely to win the game.
I want a game 7 as well so I also think that Meralco will come up victorious. They did that in 2 straight games, I don't think they can't do it again in a do or die game. This is still a very physical game for sure, but the key factor for Meralco is Allen Maliksi, if he is shooting well outside, then they have the edge over Ginebra who are not really a good 3 point shooters.

Based on the current betting spread, Ginebra is -3.5, but I'll take the opposite side. Just in case the Wolves lose but the game is close, I think I'm still on the right side. The game will start at 7:30 PM, so we can definitely watch this game.

It has moved a bit, I saw it moved to -4.5 but it's back to -3.5 now. Not sure what is the indication of that but it looks like the line movement is telling us that Ginebra will win. The under/over is currently 177.5, it's a bit higher compared to their production in the last 2 games, but I feel it's going to be over as long as Meralco will dictate.
24  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: May 29, 2024, 09:01:02 AM
Finally, the Wolves managed to win. They had fewer field goal attempts but made more than the Mavs. However, they need to improve their free throws; they are really bad at it. They only managed to make 16 out of 25. Although they have managed to extend the series, they still need to win three in a row to reach their first NBA Finals. That's kind of hard to do against the Mavs unless they show what they did in the first and second rounds of the playoffs. Then, they do have a chance, but currently, I'm not very optimistic.
Still to far from the reality of beating the Mavs. As what was showed in the screen when I watch the game, there are only 4 teams in the history of NBA that went to game 7 from 0-3 deficit, but of course, no team had succeeded to win yet, but let's see if they'll make a history, they just need to win one game at a time.

The loss of Lively was really huge, but it was a close game actually until KAT can't miss on the outside, if he play like that in game 5, then there's a likelihood that the series will be extended in 6 or even in 7.
25  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Crypto investment is exhausting for some ? on: May 28, 2024, 09:17:55 PM
I understand. But the monitoring of your seed phrase is so much important because if you just lost it then your investment is wasted. Even though you don't want to know the price in the market but safeguarding your wallet with the seed phrase is sacrosanct. I have lost my first Eloncoin wallet seed phrase and I lost everything, there was no way to retrieve the wallet again so I lost those coins.

But I have not seen people giving up on cryptocurrency investment because they are tired of the monitoring the coins..and what I have seen is that I have seen someone who was tired to wait for the bitcoin to rise and he sold them when bitcoin was still in the bear market.
Getting tired due to safeguarding his investments simply shows that he’s not a responsible investor. He just want to be easy on his investment, and blame crypto in the future if he ended up losing his seed phrase and lost all his coins. However, it’s rare to see this kind of crypto investors in the market.

Crypto investment may only be exhausting if in reality, you aren’t sure of what you are doing. But if you are determined and highly motivated to maximize your crypto investment and wants to ensure all its safety, getting tired and exhausted have never rooms in crypto.
26  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When investing in Bitcoin: what to consider? on: May 28, 2024, 03:23:34 PM
It is indeed the safest to invest in Bitcoin, no matter how much money you have and at whatever time you will get a profit in the future, but the main requirement and it seems easy but difficult to do is to be patient. with patience we can see bitcoin reach a new ATH, but even though it is safe, many also suffer losses, due to their lack of knowledge about bitcoin fluctuations. Therefore, it would be better to learn about it first before investing

There is always a possibility of the price of Bitcoin going higher in the future, but there is no guarantee because we can't see the future and we know how volatile and unpredictable the market is. The price of Bitcoin can be much higher than where it is right now, but it can also be at the same level or maybe lower if the price keeps going up and coming down after each cycle because we know there are bear and bull markets in every cycle.

People getting into Bitcoin and the cryptocurrency market should understand that even if Bitcoin is considered to be one of the safest investment options available these days, it has its fair share of risks associated with it and an investor needs to understand those risks before they put their money in it.
That’s why in any form of investment, calculated risk should be properly taken. Part of being knowledgeable and responsible investor is to take calculated risk so that if you lose, you won’t suffer a lot since you only invest what you can afford to lose.

Another thing is one should learn to diversify and not just put all the eggs in a single basket. If one plans to invest in bitcoin, don’t go all in but learn to invest at a small amount first and follow with DCA to gradually increase the amount of bitcoin. When profits are achieved, try to risk into another investment, not just to diversify but also to lessen and control the risk.
27  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: "Everyone" is all wrong about Bitcoin... on: May 28, 2024, 01:13:04 PM

Almost everyone is wrong, and only because; Bitcoin is not at all about all the deep dips but the stabile growth with the high peaks. That's it and that's all of what most of them just don't get.
I think you are really new to this forum, don't think that people here don't get what really bitcoin is or how does it works bull or bear, before you write this statement they already know more about it, most of them are a long time follower of bitcoin so they know base on price that it is rising even if sometimes it fall down but it always bounce back with a higher resistance and reach another ATH.
Not everyone can be right with bitcoin, as much as not everyone can be wrong with it. The pioneers here are definitely well rounded about bitcoin and they can be highly capable to create accurate predictions. While these new members here are more prone on committing mistakes and wrong predictions but no worries as they can learn gradually in time.

Bitcoin can be a complicated topic and people may misinterpret about it, but if they’ll only do their due diligence to  research and study, majority will acquire good education about bitcoin. So I strongly opposed that everyone is all wrong about bitcoin.
28  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🏆 AnonBet.net - No-KYC Slots and Sports Betting with Bitcoin [20 FREE SPINS] 🏆 on: May 25, 2024, 09:02:45 PM
These little startups don't always have a ton of resources, so things can get messy sometimes.  Their websites might look kinda crappy or have some issues, and maybe their bonus programs got gamed at first.  But you gotta give 'em credit for trying to make things right.  If they're working on the site and thinking about changing the bonuses, it shows they actually care what people think and

Im not saying you should trust 'em completely right away.  But if folks make an effort to fix their mistakes that's usually a decent sign.  I'd be willing to give them another shot and see what happens.

What do you think?

Sure, they should be given another chance as they are transparent with the gamblers. As you said, they are a startup company, and if we trust them, we need to give them a chance to recover and fix what needs to be done. Correct implementation is crucial, and they stopped when they saw some abuse in the system. So I am assuming that the damage has been controlled now, and they'll be coming back with a more secure bonus system for the public.

A bonus is supposed to be a win-win, but mostly in their favor. If the gamblers are the ones winning most of the time, then that is not effective for them. In short, there's something wrong with the implementation, as it's not normal for them to lose, or what they call "funds leakage."
29  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think casinos can stop demanding KYC? on: May 25, 2024, 08:40:38 PM
Casinos existed without the need for KYC's until the government made it a requirement, and they started demanding it. IMO If the government no longer requires casinos to do KYC verification for new gamblers, casinos will go ahead and still do KYC verifications because they have seen the benefits of knowing their customers better than when they just allowed people to come onto their platform and gamble without their knowledge of who they were. What do you think? Do you think some casino's will revert back to non-KYC and allow money launderers, plus other fraudulent people have their easy way with them as a way to attract customers, or since they recognize the personal benefits of KYC to their casino, will continue demanding it even if it affects their customers?

I won't encourage casino platforms to stop demanding KYC. KYC help keep users in check and also helps eliminate underage gamblers, like you said if the government should stop asking for these KYC some casinos will stop asking new users for KYC, normally most users don't like the stress of doing KYC due to the stress or having all the necessary documents.

That is not a stress at all if in the first place you already understand that KYC is already must in a regulated casino. Besides, what they are asking as just documents that asa  citizen you should have, like national ID or passport, so if you trust a casino, you'll not hesitate to submit it when they ask, or best if from the very beginning so you will not longer worry in the future.

Always keep in mind that casino does not implement their own rules, they are mandated by the goverment to implement it that's why they follow, because if they don't their license are at risk of getting revoked, so you know how risky for them to violate too.
30  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Devin Haney vs Ryan Garcia on April 20 on: May 25, 2024, 02:37:32 PM

With this development, what could be the sanctions of the governing bodies to Ryan Garcia? Could he be banned from boxing on his entire life?

I don't think that harsh punishment will be sanction to him, they'll miss him if they do.

IMO, the case of Margarito in the past where he was found with a loaded gloves is more dangerous, and yet he was only banned for a year.

Margarito banned for one year over 'loaded' gloves

Although this was 15 years ago, but I feel this is a more serious violation than a illegal substance found during the test.

I do agree, it will be a harsh punishment if the governing bodies are going to ban Ryan Garcia for life in boxing. There are lot of boxers that have been caught with peds and was not ban. And in the case of Margarito of loaded hands with plaster of paris, he was still allowed to box and then rematch Cotto. It's also that Ryan is very popular that they are going to ruin his career here.

Yes, there has been a lot of cases in the past but no boxer has been ban for using PED.

We can refer to this article below for some information.

Increase Penalties For Confirmed PED Use In Boxing
Quote
Boxing’s ever-persistent performance-enhancing drugs (PEDs) problem will likely never be fixed because no one wants to be responsible for cleaning things up, but at the very least, let’s increase the penalties for failed drug tests significantly.

On May 11, WBA junior featherweight world titlist Erika Cruz (17-2-1, 3 KOs) fought Nazarena Romero (13-0-2, 7 KOs) to a 10-round draw in her first title defense. Cruz expressed her disappointment post-match, stating, “I feel this draw was very unfair.”Ironically, Cruz was the one who had an unfair advantage. The 33-year-old southpaw tested positive for Stanozolol metabolites 16b-hydroxystanozolol and 3′-hydroxystanozolol in a random urine test conducted by Drug Free Sport on April 29. Stanozolol, known by the brand name Winstrol, is a banned androgenic anabolic steroid used to enhance speed, agility, power output, and lean muscle retention.

They can increase the penalty but not to ban a boxer.

Quote
And the Haney's are also filing cases so that they can removed the L from his record and make it NC (No Contest).
he has the right to do so as long as his claim is backed with a solid evidence. Of course that L doesn't look good on his record but we will never forget how he got schooled by Ryan Garcia in that fight and the possible reason was Ryan was too strong at that time that he was able to hurt Haney so bad but Haney was lucky he survived.
31  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: May 25, 2024, 12:48:15 PM

Let's cash that bet. (hopefully)

Turned out let's cash in again for tomorrow as that Wolves bet and under was a bad bet.

Anyway, stay positive on the upcoming game, we can bounce back from this loss. Tomorrow, I'm rooting for the Pacers to cover the handicap, there's no news year about Haliburton playing, but the line says he'll play, and in case that wouldn't change if he'll be declared out, that is even better.

I'm also thinking of betting the under 223 as the last two games went over, maybe this time would be different.
32  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: May 25, 2024, 12:17:00 PM
I wasn't expecting this series to become 2-0, led by the Mavs. ANT has not been consistent for how many games already. Although he is scoring in double digits, it's far from impressive considering he had a lot of field goal attempts. Tonight, he only made 5 out of 17. Also, KAT. One of the Wolves' problems is consistency in offense, unlike in Dallas, where they have Doncic.
It was Conley and Reid who made them compete with the shooting of the Mavs. It's been 2 games already that ANT has been struggling, he cannot carry his team with that kind of shooting. Now down 0-2,  I don't think we will see the same scenario of their last game where they won on the road, or if that will happen, it's still Mavericks that will advance as they'll win game 7.
Yeah these two really help the team to lead. At first, when they are up like 15 points, I thought it's going to be a blowout win by the Wolves and they'll even the series, but slowly the Mavericks came back and the Wolves offense slowly to deteriorate. Reid was really awesome, he was almost perfect in the 3 point  are until he miss 1 and then miss the supposed game winning shot.

The role players played well but the starters really struggled in this games.

Edwards    5-17
Towns     4-16
McDaniels 1-6

And they are outrebounded again by the smaller Mavs. And look at these two bigs from the mavs, you can appreciate their consistency.

Gafford 8-10
Lively II 6-6

Kyrie came up clutch in the 4th quarter again, when Luka needed him, he is their  to step up and carry the team, but the winning shot of Luka changes everything, that puts a dagger to the heart of the Wolves and even trash talked Gobert.

He didn't start strong but in the 4th quarter, a barrage of 3 point shots were on display that was able to keep them close with the Wolves.
That turnover by ANT in less than a minute was huge, and because of that Dallas were able to call a timeout, design a great play that resulted to a winning shot by Luka.

So who's the real MVP now?
33  Economy / Economics / Re: Money addiction on: May 24, 2024, 09:59:11 PM
In my opinion, there is no one who doesn't want a lot of money because that is human nature. Especially in this era, to survive you need money. Therefore, if asked, everyone definitely wants a lot of money, it just depends on how they can make a lot of money to meet their needs or want to achieve certain goals.
Money is the ultimate goal why people work so hard and invest a lot of time so they can end up having a sufficient amount of income. Otherwise, if you stop on working and earning money, you will definitely struggle on living your life and survival would be at risk. That’s why people keep chasing to make more money, not actually to live a luxurious life but even if it means for survival only.
34  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: May 24, 2024, 02:20:18 PM
@GreatArkansas, Thanks as that clears everything. We cannot argue with that call anymore as that camera of them is more reliable and we can see it, if we still don't believe it, then maybe we are just being biased.  Grin

Updated record 20(W)-20(L)..... 50%

Game 1 is Dallas, game 2 this is the Wolves winning to even the series.

Spread is high after their loss, but that's even more attractive to win as it tells me it's going to be a big bounce back win by the home team. I am expecting to see the kind of defense that win games for the Wolevs, and with that, this game is gonna go under.

my picks.

Wolves -5
under 207

50% record,  you're even mate, but you'll not end up with that percent since there's still plenty of games to bet on. Hmmm.. what I like about your pick was the Wolves -5. I'm sure they'll make the right adjustment and will leave for Dallas with a 1-1 series score.

Let's cash that bet. (hopefully)
35  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: May 24, 2024, 06:40:38 AM
On the total, I have the first game under 177.5
I like the under as this sure a very defensive game. Ginebra can't afford to go down 1-3, so I'm sure it will be a very defensive start from the beginning until the end of the game. Normally, the 2nd half is more defensive especially if the first half ended in a close scoring, so consider that asa well.
Same here, but I guess I'll be betting on the  kings to win this game with -3.5 point spread. I am just observing the point spread and it seems it's not moving. I don't care if it's a trap or not but Ginebra cannot go down 3-1, so if they'll win, I believe they'll finish strong, and with that, they'll likely cover the spread.

I also checked the stats of Thompson and C. Stand, they seemed had a bad game in game 3, so I'm hoping for a big bounce back game and deliver a win.

and over 215.5 for the 2nd game.
This is just a battle of 3 point shooting, so I woudn't be surprise if the result will be over again. last game, the total was 224.
I think it's safer if we will also bet on the SMB's team total, and over would be easy since they are not struggling to shoot.

It could be a high scoring or low scoring, it doesn't matter, what matter which I also believe is that SMB are going to finish ROS tonight, so count me in on the spread which is -6.5.
36  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How you trade in uncertain times? on: May 23, 2024, 09:22:17 PM
In trading you must need to know what are the current market situation next is what are the possible move of the market with the help of the technical indicator, and signals you can easily manage the risk if the position you are keeping an eye is ideal to trade or ideal to skip, not all market movement is ideal to make a trade if you are not sure better prepare for more clearer possible movement. Unless you are willing to take a risk with unsure information with the chart.
Trading at a market where you think you aren’t sure how it will move after you trade will only add more risk of losing. That’s why good and responsible traders never risk trading if the market is highly uncertain, otherwise they will only end up losing their capital.

Trading is not supposed to be done at all times, or when you think you have good vibes to trade. You should consider first the market condition and if it’s not good and favorable enough, better not to trade at the moment so you can avoid inevitable losses that time.
37  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: May 23, 2024, 02:37:33 PM
The last statement is important siding for Gin kings might be a good one here, for sure CTC will find that good adjustments to improve both their offense and defense they've been outplayed by that familiar uniforms who mostly their opponents during the finals, they need to keep on moving and rotates the ball wisely,  as per Meralco what they've doing with their defense really paying the price as they manage to limits Gin kings predictions.  It's an interesting game 4 for sure as we will see how both teams will prepare in winning the game.
I think Ginebra are not really that good as an all Filipino players, they were only popular with Justin Brownlee with them, and now they are already exposed. The same roster, well, added few players but it seems like Meralco has been dominating them already. I would not say it will finish early but the way Meralco are playing, they'll most likely win the series.
Don't conclude it yet, it's still far from over as the series is now 2-1, maybe if Bolts will win the next game,  then we can talk about how good the Bolts are. Ginebra will try to even the series tomorrow, anyone here dare to bet on them? Here's the point spread for the game.

Ginebra -3.5 vs Meralco +3.5

For the next game, we have SMB -6.5 vs ROS +6.5
I think the first is interesting, on the 2nd game, it's not worth betting, but if I will, I'll take SMB -6.5 on this close out game.

On the total, I have the first game under 177.5 and over 215.5 for the 2nd game.
38  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: May 23, 2024, 01:45:41 PM
-snip-
Sorry but I got to disagree with you because it was reviewed, not only 1 ref made a decision, it was a unanimous one and I think they know their job better, unless we think it was rigged.
You see from the top view camera angle and the ball clearly flips out from scope of the cylinder they usually make the judgement of the call. Believe they line it up in a cone formation to make the call.

Look at the screen below:

https://www.youtube.com/shorts/dVjr64E9l7k

So call it what you will. But watching it live like I did, you can see where the ball's trajectory was going and where he grabbed the ball to dunk it for the score.

Allow me to joined the discussion here. I also checked some video regarding that controvertial call by the refs, as you can see in
https://www.tiktok.com/@bleacherreport/video/7372023824172305707

And here's some of the comment that agreed with the call.

Quote
Yes because in replay you can see it’s an inteference, Kat couldn’t see it fair enough, Luka was looking under the basket he saw it

And this one could explain as well.

What is basket interference? Explaining controversial call on Karl-Anthony Towns in Timberwolves' loss to Mavericks

Quote
What is basket interference?
Touch any ball from within the playing area when it is above the basket ring and within the imaginary cylinder.

Offensive goaltending is rarely called. The shot Wednesday appeared to be leaving area of the rim, though it could have had a chance to hit the rim again on the way down, making it a close call for the referees.

So it was a close call, and since refs made the final decision, we just have to accept it and move on, besides, this is just game 1.
39  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is $84k the Peak for Bitcoin? on: May 23, 2024, 09:43:35 AM
Bitcoin will get to $84000 is not exciting to me. What can make me more excited is bitcoin to get to $100000. Another excitement would come when bitcoin will no longer fall below $100000 but this will be a long time from now. We still have over 7 months in this year to finish, it is still a long time and bitcoin will get to $100000.
I agree. It’s certain that bitcoin will eventually reach $84k few weeks from now, and I think it’s not surprising anymore. But most likely, price correction will be visible first before we will hit that amount. However, hitting the target at $100k creates more interest and motivation to all new and old investors here. Because once it happens, that proves that bitcoin price has reached another level, which I think creates a huge advantage for all those who believe in bitcoin.
40  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do your parents invest in bitcoin ? on: May 23, 2024, 08:33:19 AM
No my parents don’t really like bitcoin. They are mostly into the classic stuff like real estate and stocks. I can’t blame them though because they are doing pretty good with those assets. They don’t need to invest in crypto because they can already make money without taking too much risk. Living long enough has benefits like that because time in the markets always beats timing the markets. Ask Warren if you don’t believe me. He made majority of his wealth after he became an elder. He was kind if rich when he was young but as he got older, he became filthy rich.
If your parents are already investing in the stock market then kudos to them, I don't really know anyone whose parents invest in the stock market. In their case I can understand why they are reluctant to invest in bitcoin, they are already getting good results, why should they take bigger risks? If it ain't broken, don't fix it, this is their case.
Bitcoin is much more risky and volatile than stocks, so if they are profiting well from stocks alone, I guess that would be enough for them since they don’t need to take greater risk to achieve greater returns. I bet they are not young anymore to get involved with high risky investments as they would surely become more impatient about it most particularly in bitcoin where its price often fluctuates. You can still educate them about bitcoin but never expect them to bite about bitcoin investment.
