21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Meme coins: Shiba Inu vs Pepe - Which one do you prefer? on: May 15, 2024, 11:31:34 PM

1. **Shiba Inu**: Shiba Inu is a breed of hunting dog from Japan. They are known for their spirited personality, small size, and distinctive fox-like appearance, with upright ears and a curled tail. They're also famous for their expressive faces and have gained popularity as pets globally.

2. **Pepe the Frog**: Pepe the Frog is a cartoon character created by artist Matt Furie. Initially a benign character, Pepe became widely used in internet memes. Unfortunately, some iterations of Pepe were co-opted by certain online communities for offensive or hateful purposes, leading to controversy and efforts to reclaim the character for positive uses.

Which one do you prefer in terms of potential during the next bullrun?

Both Shiba Inu and PEPE coin are technically similar. Both being token on Ethereum ecosystem and meme coin with limited supply. Limited supply practically means the number of circulating coin keeps decreasing and the total supply of PEPE is a bit less than Shiba Inu.
The long term price actually depends on the hype they could maintain, Shiba Inu team has been trying several different things and I've heard they are trying some web3 stuff as well, if those things gets relative success, Shiba Inu would have another large rally while I haven't heard much plans with PEPE.
22  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why are altcoins important? on: May 15, 2024, 11:13:12 PM
Scam, death both have in altcoins market so why you want investing altcoins?
My opinion buy dip and sold faster on some profits like to be best revenge for all altcoins investors!
What's your skills and opinion?

Altcoins are a general term for every cryptocurrency excluding Bitcoin and it's not a good idea to generalize the experience in a particular coin to all of them. It's like being sent an inferior product by an instagram shop and calling the whole online business worthless and scam.
There are coins that die, are scam, don't work, can't keep up competition. That's why investors needs to be cautious and attentive when choosing a coin. They should build a diverse portfolio that includes different genres of coins. They should also occasionally reanalyze and readjust their holdings.
23  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tornado Cash Developer Was Convicted and jailed on: May 15, 2024, 03:23:22 PM
He is sentenced and jailed by the US government. Nothing new here, US govt always like this before.
If i ever have a crypto business i'll make sure to filter out US citizen. Nothing personal, it is just that US govt is like a feral animal lol

As a developer of a mixing service, he publicized himself to be known to the world, which makes him a target. Even the Russian government may imprison him as well. That's the very mistake he made.

This I think is a warning to all who have plans to develop such services, he should remain as anonymous as possible.  This is not why he is jailed however but because of the money laundering.
Oh i just noticed it is open source. Well yeah that is bad decision.
Seems like people who develop things for privacy will always need to be anonymous, as there are criminals who want to use the product (at least this is what the govt believe) and then they suddenly in court even if they are not the criminal themselves

Even though Alexey Pertsev is arrested, his contribution would keep on helping create a free financial system. The decentralized, non-custodial and open source nature of Tornado cash means it would keep on working and hundred of its clones can be made. It was a bad idea for him to reveal his true identity. He might have thought Netherlands is a better place but it's just a puppet of the US. The judiciary is neither free nor independent and there's no hope for him to get justice unless he provides the US with loopholes in the system.
24  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Have you been profiting from memecoins? on: May 14, 2024, 11:35:08 PM
So this isn't just a new topic but nowadays I see that on twitter, and discord, people have been profiting from memecoins, especially on solana and some other chains.

BONK, WIF, and MYRO are prime examples of highly traded memecoins that have generated profits for investors. What's interesting is the pattern, when a new memecoin launches or builds hype, it tends to trend across X, telegram and often gets listed on major exchanges.

I recently observed this with the $FUD memecoin on the SUI network. It surged over 70% upon listing on Bitget and MEXC. Their community was actively promoting it, so I took advantage of a dip and bought some $FUD. I don't typically hold memecoins long-term, so I set a price target and monitor its performance.

I think the main game starts once you understand the strategy and plan. If you really want to make some profit with meme coins, find them on Coingecko and research. Now I'm not advising you all to do the same as me but I'm just sharing what I do when investing in meme coins.

I've had some profit with PEPE in past. It was my most yielding memecoin investment. There might be a few percentage profit on others too but they are still negligible. I'm currently heavily invested on top memecoins. I have Bonk, Bome, ShibaInu, mew as my largest holdings and aims to bag many more.
Its a surprise to see how fast a new meme coin rises but it's too difficult to find them. There are like a dozen of networks that are producing memecoins at a pace of 100s of coins each day in aggregate. Its even harder to predict which would have next pump.
25  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are your doing for now? on: May 14, 2024, 02:52:47 PM
Start of January is like blessing for crypto market. Crypto market start pumping from last few months but in January, it speeds up. Even Good news like Bitcoin ETFs get approved a days ago. But suddenly market gets unpredictable. I mean it went to correction mode, and then get recovered. then dump again And now trying to pump. Situation is confusing. So what are you doing now?

1 Buy Altcoins from Dip
2 Selling altcoins, to buy more cheap during halving
3 Doing DCA Only
4 just watching the market like me

I'm doing all of those 1, 2 and 3. I'm buying more promising altcoins as they dip. Yesterday, Hive had a nice dip and I decided it was a good time to include hive on my portfolio. The price has not increased from last day but it's one of my long term investment. I'm also selling coins. Like I sold my TON holding at $7 as I suspect the price to fall at a lower range and willing to buy more at that price. I also do DCA on my long term investment as I'm not willing to sell them cheap. Lowering my average price means, they'll be more profitable when the bull finally arrives.
26  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Toncoin [TON] to outperform Bitcoin? on: May 14, 2024, 08:57:26 AM
It's not a surprise for newer coins to outperform bitcoin. The rise of Toncoin has been spectacular from around $2 a few months ago to $7 now. It's a bit difficult to predict where the price would move in the future as there's tough competition and Toncoin has not been as successful as ecosystem than it's competitors. There are not many successful tokens and dapps in ton ecosystem to boost its demand. The use of Ton in Telegram messenger is a small niche not much large to upscale rapidly. I believe the price would come down below 5 in near future.
27  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ton/Telegram Chain is next season on: May 13, 2024, 10:54:19 PM
A good way to shill your project @Joonaszz, currently Toncoin is one of the L-1 projects that is being noticed again, even though previously there was not much development on this network but now it's very big, especially after what happened to Notcoin (NOT). Based on the MC, currently Toncoin is in 8th position, 3 places below Solana, it is said to be the Solana killer, I don't agree because the MC is not yet close to Solana.

About the project that you shill, is it just a trash project that's expected to be driven by the community?

One of the reason why Ton is rising is due to it being adopted as the default payment option for advertisers and publishers in telegram. Now the ads in telegram are being paid in Ton. Ton theoretically has as good TPS as Solana but effectively it has been a bit laggy and there had not been many dapps or tokens that stand out. I bought some Ton at $5 and sold them recently at $7, not sure if that was a good idea or too early but I plan to buy it again if falls to $5 level. I don't expect it to have huge breakout as it recently did one from $2.
28  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 2024 Update: How long can Tether keep getting away with their huge scam? on: May 13, 2024, 10:29:32 PM
I hope they don't. If there's a burst in Tether and it's devaluation, the crypto market would have irrecoverable damage. Almost all of my trading pairs are USDT based. I'm wary about the dependence but I don't have options. The platform I'm using for my trading bots don't have other USD options and wherever they are, it's for limited coins and the volume are very low. I hope the regulators forces more transparency and make Tether a secure assets as millions of people have their life savings in Tether.
29  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can Monero survive exchange de-listings and low merchant adoption? on: May 13, 2024, 09:57:27 PM
It's sad to see Monero being forced to die. Many of the popular exchanges have delisted Monero, that is the reason why there's a sharp decrease in trading volume. Although Monero is more popular being traded in shady and underground exchanges, yet they don't have large volume and whatever volume it may be, it is not counted by aggregators like Coinmarketcap. Monero is currently 45th by marketcap and as they fade from sight, people would start forgetting it. It might survive on the dark web but won't increase much in value as the demand would be low.
30  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can Meme Coins still Catch Up With The Likes of Doge and Shib? on: May 10, 2024, 01:39:01 PM
They would certainly. It just takes time. Dogecoin and Shiba Inu are the Bitcoin and Ethereum of memes. But their lead would be challenged much easily than on overall crypto leaders. Dogecoin is even harder, even though it doesn't have a supply limit. With no mining halving or any decrease, the coin won't indefinitely rise. But the numbers itself does keep the market cap higher even if the price don't increase. There are other newer meme coins that if increased have potential to replace Shiba Inu, like Pepe, bonk or bome.
31  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Render - overrated coin? on: May 09, 2024, 03:18:29 AM
Just heard about render a few days ago. Apple apparently decided to leverage render in their octane X rendering software. Not sure what it exactly does but a real world business as large as Apple associated with a crypto coin, the price was ought to hike. The coin have had its all time high in the past and the running hype around AI and the news about apple may mean it could still rise for short term.
32  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can the Metaverse Achieve Seamless NFT Integration? on: May 09, 2024, 12:10:03 AM
Hey everyone! Lately, I've been really fascinated by this idea of using NFTs and virtual assets across different games and virtual worlds. Imagine using your favorite sword from that one fantasy game in a completely different space adventure! It seems like the metaverse is moving towards more interconnected experiences, and I think that's awesome.

Recently, I came across a project called STYLE Protocol that's trying to bridge this gap. They use NFT-sublicensing to allow your virtual assets to work across different platforms. They even have features where you can turn your NFTs into 3D models for your avatar. It sounds promising, but I'm curious to hear your thoughts. Have any of you encountered solutions like this? Do you think STYLE Protocol can truly bridge the gap between virtual worlds, or are there still limitations?

Metaverse and NFTs both are forgotten hypes. Seems like people still prefer reality and real objects than virtual world and virtual assets.  There still might be some use cases of NFT in specific sectors but metaverse has failed big to attract people towards it. Even Facebook's metaverse is in a bad state, you can't imagine the state of metaverse of young enthusiastic developers that raised money to start.
There might be brief instances of money making opportunity in Metaverse and NFT, but I don't see them rise in long run.
33  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 5 Coins to buy - good selection? on: May 08, 2024, 03:41:42 PM
Hello guys,

do you think that this is a good crypto selection to invest 5k €, 1k each?

- Render (RNDR)
- Moonbeam (GLMR)
- NEAR Protocol
- Solana
- Shiba Inu

Im especially interested in your opinion in RNDR

And do you think it’s better to invest in those 5 coins mentioned above than putting all 5k into just near, shiba and glmr?

Not much idea about Render. I'd say absolutely no to Moonbeam and Near protocol. I've used Moonbeam in past and it's not an improvement to popular L2 in any sense. Just used it for higher staking rewards on USDT. Near is nearing death before even having real test on market. It's already outdated.
Solana is a good investment at least for near term. They are the leader in L1 and would be the driving force for next bull. Even in a pessimistic outlook, the coin is going to double in a year. Shiba, though not the best memecoin to invest, surely is a safer bet. That too could easily atleast double your investment next year.
34  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ton/Telegram Chain is next season on: May 08, 2024, 03:43:59 AM
Ton chain is official Solana killer

This is funny. I thought we have gone past the days of hyping chains up as "killers"? I remember when NEAR protocol was all the rage in 2021 - 2022 when it was heavily marketed as the Solana killer but that narrative never really kicked off and since then, the chain is a shadow of its former self albeit recent positive price growth. TON chain has been doing really well in recent times. Imo, the team should focus on whatever they are doing instead of trying to be the "x killer chain". It's not a zero-sum game. At least, that is how I understand it.

Solana was called the Ethereum killer and it did killed some market of Ethereum making it one of the most popular altcoin. But there were hundred of such projects that failed.
There are a few things that stands out Ton from the competition. It's development is led by Nikolai Durov, a popular mathematician and Programmer. He  won the gold at all the three International Mathematical Olympiad he participated in. He has multiple contribution to mathematics and cryptography.
A successful career doesn't necessarily mean every of his projects be successful but with the help of Telegram's users and funds, it's hard for it to fail.
35  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: how long do we think memecoins narrative is going to last ? on: May 07, 2024, 03:33:54 PM
I know there have been a lot of discussion about memecoins during their prime. Especially when Bonk and shiba 50-100x some people's few weeks ago but then again the rise of new memecoins like OMNI which I stumbled upon, the first memecoin distributed on multiple chains with liquidity pools, and powered by the groundbreaking protocol LayerZero. It offers something truly unique in the world of memecoins.

Isn't it too late for that? I know in crypto there's nothing like been late but what I mean is. Just like we have Altseason, meme season etc.. Is true they have good community and I realised they have been listed on Bitget, Mexc etc and I also read some places that they have plans of getting listed on Binance.

Now, do you really think this memecoin will do a thing especially when I believe the meme season is over

It lasted more than everyone predicted and I don't see it's popularity fading anytime soon. I personally had been critical and skeptic about memecoins in general but at the moment I'm heavily invested on them. More than half of my investment are on memecoin, it's not just my blind prediction but different stats shows memecoins being accumulated by a lot of users. The prices are sustaining in a resistance and when there's a bull run and bitcoin does x1.5, most meme coins would do a x3.
36  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Shiba Inu plans to use $12 million to develop a Layer-3 blockchain on: May 07, 2024, 05:38:38 AM
Shiba Inu has been trying different things. Most of it didn't turned out to be exactly a success but yet they bring the boost in price for the token and subsequent profit to the holders. They had been one of the most active and creative team for a memecoin so no wonder they are leading among the meme tokens. Many other meme coins have no active developer or are not trying to do anything else while Shiba Inu keeps on bringing new things. I'm not sure what exactly is an L3 but I believe they are working to shifting at their own blockchain.
37  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what things to do when crypto loss is there on: May 07, 2024, 03:53:15 AM
From the january  i had a good profit. but i did leverage trading. so all profits gone. i am now done. what is the best way to face next coming months?

i have couple of 100 dollers on wallet left.

I too learned that in a hard way. It took me 3 liquidation to figure out leverage is not what we should go with. The first time my money were liquidated, I felt like I didn't knew much and the parameters I set were not made with proper analysis. I did tried second time with a strategy, it worked for some time but it got busted in a few months. I decided not to do leverage again but just last month, I thought bitcoin is not going any lower than this, If I set my parameters so that I'll only be liquidated below 60, I'll be fine. Everything worked perfect except for that one day it went below 60, it did bounced back but once triggered, every of my money went zero. So, it's better to have less profit than get greedy and gamble with leverage to lose it all.
38  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you use profits from the crypto market? on: May 05, 2024, 05:23:00 PM
I might have used like a $500 worth of crypto to buy some topup and giftcards, a $500 more in crypto to buy games and expansion packs and an exact $250, I withdrew as cash. Other than that all the profits I made in Crypto were reinvested in crypto. Thought the reinvestment ratio is more than 90%, I have not achieved the same level of success as on initial coins I buy. There have been multiple ups and downs in crypto and I have lost several times on hacks and bad investment choices. I would have felt better if I had withdrew all of my profit from my seed investment.
39  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Newcomers, Moonboys and Fools on: May 05, 2024, 05:03:27 PM
What you have said is correct. That's why I stick to the tried and trusted coins and trade on waves to get profits. I don't explore around much. Though I'm neither a successful trader or investor yet but I have learned much just form being in the market. I plan on keep increasing my stake on cryptocurrencies. I'm just using my long term savings at the moment an 90% of my buy are for the coins I plan to hold multiple years. Crypto has outperformed all the stocks or gold and it's not a surprise that more people are moving to it. But the huge money in short term could be a good thing for old investors but would make crypto market more risky.
40  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Most "Memecoins" are not even coins, most "Memecoins" are tokens on: May 05, 2024, 03:57:24 PM
When it comes to memecoins, it needs to be mentioned: Most "Memecoins" are not even coins, most "Memecoins" are tokens.

Often, it is just a marketing move to designate a crypto asset as "Coin" but in reality, it's a token.

A coin is based on its own, unique Blockchain, like Bitcoin, Litecoin or Dogecoin
A token is based on an existing Blockchain, like Ethereum tokens (for most ICOs) or based on BNB (for many Memecoins).

And today, most "Memecoins" are not even coins, most "Memecoins" are tokens. Keep in mind when investing.

A coin based on a side chain is generally called a token but there's no rule that prevents us from calling it coins. There are less and less coins with their own blockchain and still we call all of them cryptocoin. It's good to know what has its own blockchain and what not but technicality of strictly using the term coin and token are not worth it.
Ethereum first introduced the token system in blockchain but they used the term sub-currencies for coins that are generated using its token system.
