25  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Windows 7 cgminer build for Icarus and BFL. 5 BTC bounty ! on: March 17, 2012, 02:41:05 AM
The bounty is now for a total of 7.5 Bitcoins, I'm adding 2.5 BTC. I want the same thing. Unzip and go, no compiling. I don't care who's feelings get hurt, I just want a binary and it's gotta be cgminer.

Thanks

Do you have an Icarus running with that download ? What are the options i need to enter in the conf beside "scan-serial" : "COMX" ? First test did not work with Icarus. Can anyone confirm ?

append -S auto into the Target field in windows shortcut properties when you make a shortcut to the cgminer executable.
If that doesn't work try specifying both: -S COM5 -S COM3

Does not work. I know that Icarus is on port 4. I assume you mine with 7970s ?
How do you know?

Try this one

Using CGMiner.  For some reason ufasoft's 64-bit linux miner refused to generate/submit any shares.

Usiing a recent git pull version of cgminer, no command-line options are necessary for devices already connected to the computer, i.e. Luke-Jr is working on the Plug-n-play version, based on the git comments(haven't had any direct communications with Luke-Jr).
So this makes the 3rd confirmed delivery right?
I'm glad to see more singles in the wild!

Just started the unit.  Give it about 20 minutes for the pool to normalize the hashrate.
What hashrate is this supposed to run at on average?
I've seen anywhere between 811-930

Could it somehow be that they're using the pcb as an interconnect and using the 2 fpgas as one? So they only need to implement 1/2 the sha circuitry on each?

Unlikely because a single hash is trivially easy.  Splitting work between two "nodes" only makes sense if one node can't handle it in a timely manner.  It is never more efficient there is always intra-node overhead.  So building dependent parallel solutions is something you do when you have no choice.  A supercomputer for example can never be built with a single petaflop chip.  Thus you have no choice but to accept the overhead and build it with a 1000 terraflop chips.  If a single petaflop chip existed you would just use that because it would be more efficient.
Well from what I understand the issue is that the intra-chip routing takes away a lot of the fpga circiutry away from what could be used to hash. So if you could somehow use the PCB to route, you would kind of have a ghetto sASIC with 2 logic units (the fpgas) and the interconnect (pcb).  Also, if the cross-chip communication (through the pcb) were pipelined there should be no overhead of the across-chip communication, correct?

Why does picture 6 have the atmega markings on the chip etched out while the others don't? Is it the angle?

never.
In my post i said it for deepbit, not slush.

No, look

This 50 BTC is divided among all of the users that contributed to that round, weighted by the number of shares that they earned. Therefore, the reward earned by a given user is given by the following formula:

(50 BTC - 1 BTC fee) * (shares found by user's workers) / (total shares in current round)

It doesn't say anything about a score system anymore

When did the scoring system change to proportional?

Could you add "my current round shares", "pool round shares", "payout" and "Duration" to the json api?
