21  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Four days to the halving. Who's giving up on mining? on: July 08, 2016, 02:53:17 PM

Either you are in long term on the BTC game or you are out. BTC is a comercial game being runned by Chinese. You need to spend at least 50-100K on new generation gear every half a year to follow up on the farms in China, but you will never be as big becasue of power prices.

If the Chinese do not see this and react, it will evntual be the death of BTC because of centralisation, but kick me if the Chinese hasnt already seen that in the mirror.

The Bitmain CEO said 30-40% of the miners are exported. So there will be less concentration in the future.

10,000 dollar in 10 years might be possible. It is possible due to the fact that many more people will use it.

If the price breaks 480 it will go to 500 that's final, however at best i do see the price go to 550/600 this year. Not much higher then that.

The price did not break 480, instead it dropped to $438. That could be good for the future price as it consoiidated.

The price is $460 again. Maybe Satoshi will not dump his  1 million coins soon. So people have more confidence.

There are a lot of people that is still waiting indeed for a good price increase and that they hope that they can earn some money with it, but that is quite risky.
Bitcoin is a currency and you never know what will happen with Bitcoin because it is always changing and that is the problem of Bitcoin, we all know that the having is coming indeed.

But we have to see and wait what will happen after the halving.

We do not know for sure if the halving will double the price. But the price will rise after the halving.

Halving is expected to double the price, at the same time there will be not much impact on price during the time of halving.

There will be a very big impact on the price during the halving. I think the price willl rise from $420 to $700.

The price is already $460 today. It might break the peak set in the last December very soon. So $800 could be price near halving.
25  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2016-04-02] New Bitcoin Price Prediction by Needham Puts Value at $655 on: April 03, 2016, 06:42:35 PM
3 years ago, the Bank of American staff declared the bitcoin value to be $1200 each. But the price is still $400 now.

There is a waving coming, but i expect it to go down, instead of going up it is going down.

Too bad we will not see a 500 USD spike.
There is only a upward wave coming. We might see $500 by the end of this month or next month.
Seems like we're a little bit stuck in the $430-$450 range, but we could break up or down at any time.  I think sentiment is pretty good lately, so I may start buying again when I get some money.  That's always the problem.

I would call that consolidation. So the price could be very high after long term consolidation. This happened last year.

During the consolidation phase, the pepole who made profit in the previous wave will take profit, so the average cost will rise.
27  Other / Meta / Re: Boards that don't contribute to activity on: February 20, 2016, 09:36:03 PM
I would suggest finding some boards that should not count towards activity, as I would theorize that the worse of signature spammers both farm accounts (eg collecting potential activity by collecting activity posts by making a single post every two weeks), and spam the forum with paid signatures.

Another potential solution would be to make it so you need more then a single post made in a two week period in order to collect the (potential) activity points. It could either be setup so that you need to make at least 4 (or some other number equal to or less then 14) posts in order to collect the 14 activity posts, or so that you both need to make at least 2 (or some other number equal to or less then 14) posts and be online at least 2 hours (or some other amount of time) during that activity period in order to collect the activity points. Yes time online can easily be faked, however it is at least a small hurdle for people who are spamming the forum in order to collect potential activity points.

We should also set a limit of posts counted towards the activity. For example, people can post as many constructive post as they want, but only 6 posts a day can be counted towards the activity.
