21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Other Coins Halves too on: March 01, 2020, 09:34:07 AM
we have already seen how the LTC halving took place in summer 2019. LTC price was dumped after halving. I really hope that the same thing will not happen with other coins, but the possibility of repeating of this situation is very high. do not rely on a big profit from the fact that the coin will have a halving
yeah its counter intuitive, but halving is not affecting all coins same way.
So btc is going up, but that doesn't mean any other coin halved will rise at all.
I'm going to do research to see how many alts went higher after halving in general
22  Economy / Economics / Re: Bakkt is done? on: February 24, 2020, 02:15:13 PM
Maybe investors are not yet interested in it. The platform still released their services newly in cryptocurrency community, it might take time before they start getting investors that are interested in making use of their services. And right from time I wasn’t expecting the Bakkt to start a bull run, after deep research I realized that there is going to be a Halving and halving is mainly what causes a bull run, if you check the last halving and what happened after, you will get to know what I’m talking about. And also the CEO of Coinbase made mention of this in 2018 when he said that the price of Bitcoin will not go for a bull run, that it might even fall below $3000. We should look forward to the Halving and see what would happen.

It is interesting to watch after people who claim some services as dead now. They see btc's chart and can possibly understand - there were plenty of people who wouldn't believe in btc to climb above $5 price, and there were even more people who would assume btc won't go above $10k in 2018.
There were plenty of same situations in stock market.
So we clearly see - investments (and all around them) are about long term and right conclusions
23  Economy / Economics / Re: How can we get people to use bitcoin as a currency? on: February 12, 2020, 04:01:20 PM
Bitcoin can be a currency if it is stable and trusted among most of people and has a value that slightly changes with time

"A currency, in the most specific sense is money in any form when in use or circulation as a medium of exchange, especially circulating banknotes and coins." -Wikipedia

I can confirm that Bitcoin is already a currency as it is used to trade for different goods and services. For example on exchanges or like on Bitcointalk for services.  Wink Wink
Absolutely.

Thousands of online services accept Bitcoin as a payment method. Just due to people mindset that would prefer old school payment methods, but future is around us. Let's look into it.

The more ways to spend there are - the more adopted bitcoin is.
Thats basically it.
At this point you can spend it on SOME online resources and probably can live off of it.
We need to overcome 2 important checkpoints - when MOST of online resources will accept btc and when SOME of irl shops will accept btc
24  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: No good projects from a long time on: February 02, 2020, 01:40:16 PM
To make something beneficial, enormous endeavors and a craving to work are required. What's more, presently it's simpler for designers to make some similarity to a decent venture with promising possibilities and leave with what they have the opportunity to assemble from new investors . One sheer extortion. Nothing qualified to discover.

And also there is a simple explanation - it is hard to come up with new idea with the time goes by, you can't just invent something as good as bicycle.
25  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why are you involved with Crypto? on: January 24, 2020, 01:59:47 PM
Why?! What is better than learning new things, met new people and be in touch with the new tech everyday... and on top of it ot make some money in the process too.
I don't think there's anything better if we already want to learn new things and new technology, just to deal with new people we have to be more careful, because most of the deception happens through too much trust in new people.
Since we are in crypto, expect that there are scammers and in reality, those who are smart makes money in crypto.
They are risk takers, and they deserve to get a high reward too, and while some makes money, it's normal that some will also lose money, but as investors, our main purpose is to make money so let's make sure that we are at the right side and we can do that with proper knowledge and skills.
I don't understand why people are so mad about scammers in crypto.
I mean there are scammers in real life and we can't even imagine how much cash and USD involved in scam schemes.
We should be careful everywhere and Imo crypto is much safer space than rest of the world
26  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is Expedia still accepting Bitcoin? on: January 13, 2020, 11:50:11 AM
I was wondering if Expedia is still accepting Bitcoin.

I tried to book a flight and an hotel from France (expedia.fr).
Bitcoin is not a payment option.

That being said I keep finding articles saying that Expedia accept Bitcoin in 2020.

So, Is Expedia still accepting Bitcoin?
For which products?

As was said - they're not since 2018.
I've heard about Travala service (not advertising in any way) - I have not tried it, but I've seen some news that they're travel company which is accepting bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies apparently.
Moreover I've heard they did sort of collaboration with booking com which is wide known.
Anyway, as I said I'm unaffiliated person just consider to at least check 'em out.
27  Economy / Economics / Re: Big risk ,big results. on: January 04, 2020, 03:09:06 AM
I don't think so, at some point those who take big risks can also make big money, but there are also small traders who have been lucky enough to hit big time even with a small amount of investment. I really don't think it's more about how much you've invested in something, I suppose it's more about the process of turning things around regardless of whether you're spending big or small. In crypto you can risk small and make big money
That is great because most of the traders or investors are having some difficulties in making their money grow even with big capital because of the volatility and unpredictable flow of market. I think that is a rare case and he is a already an experienced trader or investor because nowadays, the returns are lower than before because the market is now more mature.

As the thread name says - big risks, big results and vice versa.
We are heading towards era of lowering risks
There won't be any 300000% of profit like it was with btc before
28  Economy / Economics / Re: INFLATION IN THE UNDERDEVELOPED COUNTRIES on: December 25, 2019, 10:37:38 AM
Hyperinflation is usually seen in countries where corruption is high and rulers do not care about the welfare of their citizens. Instead, they plunder their own country, selling its resources for small prices to more developed countries. The cure for hyperinflation is honest and loving rulers.
right, as divenezuela, where it was reported that corruption there was rampant, so the country became chaotic in its economic system. to overhaul governance is indeed not easy, and requires time. until finally they use crypto to be the payment instrument

I wonder if new crypto payment system in their country will solve existing problems.
I mean it is actually harder for corruption to exist in it, but its still possible.
29  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: NordVPN loading/startup time issue... on: December 16, 2019, 03:07:54 PM
About what longevity we're talking about like 1min+?
If you're Windows user I believe there is an adjustment in Settings where you can pick which application will have priority to load first after Pc has been booted
30  Economy / Economics / Re: Millennial generation are screwed! on: December 02, 2019, 01:40:04 AM
I can’t understand why the millennial generation is screwed up?  The fact is that over the last century, people have caused irreparable damage to our planet, as a result of which for future generations I will raise very serious questions regarding the problems of survival.  Nevertheless, 1000 years was most marked only by major wars of people with each other.  But if we discard all the negative results of human life, then first of all we must pay attention to the fairly rapid progress of mankind in the technological plan and in the field of high technology over the past few decades.
That is true, the most damage done to this entire planet is when the first industrial revolution began and now there are so many problem regarding our problem including global warming, pollution and many more although Im not denying that it bring us a lot benefits and also making our live easier but that also spoils our future generation with too much convenient. If I'm to blame all these generation, they share fair amount of damage to the whole planet and also equally screwed.

Can't disagree with you. Unfortunately we have no choice, but to repair, fix, make everything around greener and etc.
Even though I have nothing against your words - it is quite funny to see this kind of discussion on BitcoinTalk huh
31  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Working "jobs for bitcoin" sites? on: November 27, 2019, 08:48:48 AM
The issue with this option is actually traffic itself.

Oh yes, I've tried once to break free from freelance websites so registered insta, twitter and fb account in order to gain money from it.
However, I realized that I either have to spend money on advertisement so someone will ever see my account or have to spend time on manually searching my clients to ask them for an offer.
That was way harder than I expected it to be.
If you're not ready - stay near Fiverr and other similar platforms, they're pretty handy
