21  Economy / Economics / Re: How does the US and China trade war affect bitcon? How do people think ? on: September 20, 2018, 09:36:24 AM
This shouldn't have any influence on any electronic money transactions (crypto, wire, paypal, ...) at all.
I can't imagine, at least.
It will have an effect if the large mining pools got affected(which is very likely to happen) because of the trade war between the US and China. The depreciation of US dollar will also somehow have an effect to the price of crypto markets since it is the most compared fiat currency to bitcoin and cryptos after all.
Of course, these are just predictions, the market will have many changes that we did not expect, but the impact from trade war on Bitcoin and crypto is yes, and of course we can not ignore. .
For now, I guess we can ignore it because the effects it will have will not be that significant unless China won the trade war.
22  Other / Meta / Re: Short story about being merited…. on: September 19, 2018, 12:02:00 PM
I am getting across many newbies now with extraordinary post quality and this only happened after the merit requirements update, I guess its already a successful experiment.
Its either that or they might be people with prior knowledge about bitcoin being attracted to this forum again because of it being more spam free because of the merit system.
I’m sure that there are many users who think like me until yesterday and wonder how what to do to get merit (cheat, buy, beg, get free etc.). I'm writing this post to give them some hope showing how easy geting merit in the proper way could be.
Also hope that they are reading a lot on this board as well because if not, your post might have gone in vain. Either way, if you want more merit, you also better consider studying more about bitcoin and crypto.
23  Economy / Speculation / Re: I expected a price flop with the recent news. on: September 19, 2018, 11:15:46 AM
maybe the market understood how minor the vulnerability was.
Maybe or most of the market still haven't read about the news. I guess it is better that we should wait for at least tomorrow to conclude that the market really understood how minor the vulnerability was and here is my take on it. Look at the headline of this particular article here, as we can see the title itself can be taken as a positive news instead of a negative one. That being said, I think the market took this positively and improved sentiment.
24  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I need help on Altcoin Investment Decision on: September 19, 2018, 07:10:35 AM
Can you guys help with what to look for to determine an altcoin with potential or you can Name some .. I ll be very glad.
You can try buying altcoins that have been in the market for a long time but haven't moved recently or dumped(like litecoin or ethereum) if you are planning to hold them long term. IMO, those major altcoins are the safest to hold in a bearish market.  Nevertheless, always do your own research before buying them if you don't want to end up bagholding alts.
25  Economy / Economics / Re: We can totally eradicate poverty if we TRULY want to. on: September 19, 2018, 06:11:52 AM
All that is necessary is the distribution of this wealth.
That is like asking to work for the sake of others and those who really work hard to obtain wealth will lose interest if the world will have a proper distribution of wealth(which I doubt would happen to our lifetimes). IMO rich people can help those who are poor by putting up another profitable business using their money and then hiring them. That itself is a way to help them if they really wanted not to be poor.
26  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Will we be able to control Artificial Intelligence when it understands us more? on: September 18, 2018, 08:56:51 PM
We always think these systems are benevolent towards mankind, but in reality they will not be as they do not know right from wrong and will do whatever it takes to expand.
They would be benevolent towards mankind if the ai is programmed to do so but if not, it will do whatever it takes to expand. I guess that nobody can really stop researchers and scientist in making an advanced AI capable of understanding us but unlike us, they strictly follow a set of programming codes and that's where we can limit them. The programmer just needs to make the benevolent towards humans as a constant in the codes.
27  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: How can we promote our 5-year-old exchange? on: September 18, 2018, 12:01:00 PM
The user above covered it all in a nutshell but you should start by creating your own thread on marketplace, services, or on service discussion section here in this forum if you haven't already started a thread here. Another good first step to advertise your exchange is to start a signature campaign, reddit campaign or social media campaign if your team can afford it.
28  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Countries where Bitcoin is legal, illegal or neutral! on: September 18, 2018, 11:24:53 AM
Thanks for sharing this. By the way is it just a coincidence or maybe you have copy pasted this post from this article? You just omitted some parts of the articles but some of the text contained in your post(particularly the explanation) is the same as the contents on the article linked above. If you did, I will not report you for now but please do avoid plagiarism in the future since it can be a cause of ban.
29  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If Bitcoin is Adopted what happen to ilerate population(stone age people) on: September 17, 2018, 12:10:11 PM
It doesn't take much literacy to press send, scan QR code, and input an amount.
It might not but maybe OP here is referring to people who cannot even operate a smartphone correctly when he said "stone age people". If that is the case how can they even press send, scan QR code and input an amount if they find it hard to just simply use their phones or user friendly applications? Either way, I am sure they would find many fault in using bitcoin as currency.
30  Other / Meta / Re: bounty BOTs on Bitcointalk on: September 17, 2018, 09:56:07 AM
You need to report those accounts and most likely it will be permabanned if Mods found that they were bots used for spamming because of the signature campaigns.
They will be permabanned if they are found spamming the forum but that will be harder to do from now on because they'll need 1 merit in order to spam for bounties.
now they no longer can have signatures until they get one merit so OP you can now lock this thread.
It is pretty easy for them to obtain 1 merit if they want to, they'll only need 1 constructive post anyway to get that merit requirement met. I believe we haven't seen the end of those people who use bots for the bounties.
31  Economy / Speculation / Re: Crashing' Bitcoin Predictions on: September 17, 2018, 09:13:27 AM
There's really no point talking about trends until we break this sideways range.
The only question is when will we see the sideway range break? I do hope that this uneventful market would not last that long. Uneventful market such as this is not that profitable at all.
I suspect this is going to be a very long bear market with some real panic moments more. But as the time frame gets longer, predictions are even less certain.
With the way things are going now, I am sure that this bear market would not that long because even if it is uneventful, there are a lot of upcoming events that might set a new momentum for a bullish market.
32  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is HODLing "Safe" To Do While The Market Continues To Get Battered? on: September 16, 2018, 09:18:54 PM
If I were you I wouldn't just casually post my portfolio here to get our opinion about it because most of us can have a biased opinion. Nevertheless, I urge you to hold most of your portfolio until you see it fit to sell them(especially if you got a hefty gain already). In bitcoin's case though, you can hold it as long as you want but if you're only in for the profit, at least hold it until after next halving.
33  Economy / Economics / Re: Poor Internet Services Could Cause Hamper Crypto Adoption in Africa on: September 16, 2018, 08:30:25 PM
Unfortunately, computers and good Internet connection are really needed for the adoption of cryptocurrencies and Africa seems mainly not to be ready for that.
If a good internet connection is really needed for the adoption of crypto, then why do the citizens in some countries with an intermittent connection like the Philippines, for example, adopt and uses crypto?
it will be very difficult for some African countries to fully take advantage of the great opportunity brought by cryptocurrency and the blockchain technology due to poor internet service.
Instead of poor internet service, I'd say the reason why Africans does not use crypto is that of lack of awareness. They might not even know what bitcoin is.
34  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What is School for? on: September 15, 2018, 11:51:49 PM
A good aspect of schools is that they teach you the very basics. Basic math, writing, work out your brain a little, teach you to work at home and to learn.
Another good aspect of schools is that they also help in the development of a person as a whole including the social aspects one will always have since first social interactions with many people the same age always happens first on schools. As for basic knowledge though, I doubt they only give that because they also teach advanced mathematics, writing, and skills one wants.
35  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: RubyKube - Create your own exchange with open-source (not an ICO) on: September 14, 2018, 11:57:53 PM
Do you have a working demo product that can be easily accessed by someone who is not that great in programming(for instance someone who only knows a few basic programming language like Java)? I'd like to tinker with it at least once but I'm not familiar with the programming languages used to build it. Also, will everyone who will create an exchange with you have a centralized or a decentralized exchange?
36  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: WHat's Dapps !? on: September 14, 2018, 10:28:36 AM
Please, if you could paste the complete link to the original source/article it would be great too.
I believe this is his source since he mentioned blockchainhub:
https://blockchainhub.net/decentralized-applications-dapps/
source : blockchainhub
OP, next time do not fully copy paste an article in your post because you can get banned by doing so(if you always do it) even if you cited your source. If you will site a source, you would be better off using these codes to cite your source:
Code 1 at the start of the text from the source unparaphrased:
Code:
[quote]
Code 2 at the end of the text from the source unparaphrased:
Code:
[/quote]
37  Other / Meta / Re: Sincere Appeal for Uplifting the Ban on: September 13, 2018, 11:13:54 AM
They are only banned from posting, they still have access to all the knowledge that is here.
But since OP is banned from posting, he is also banned from asking questions freely. Wouldn't that make it hard for him who is still learning? If that is the case, wouldn't he better off accessing other sites for information about crypto to be able to ask questions freely. Either way, if he did stick around and read here, At least he will learn how to use the search button.
38  Other / Meta / Re: Sincere Appeal for Uplifting the Ban on: September 13, 2018, 08:46:03 AM
everyone deserves the second chance if he is honest, loyal & competent enough to stay here .
The only problem is that this forum does not give a second chance. If you are only banned temporarily you might have had a second chance but in your case you are nuked and is currently permabanned. It means to say that you are not allowed to post in the forum as a person other than this meta thread since the rules said so. Just move on, if you want to learn only about crypto basics, there are still more sources of knowledge out there.
39  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is ETH price drop great for ICO? on: September 12, 2018, 11:54:22 AM
our token will be independent of ETH price swings in long run.
Do you agree?
Your tokens might not depend on ETH price movements now, but I don't agree that your platform would be independent of the ETH price swings in the long run. It is clearly stated in your website that:
Quote from: https://tmoney.io/
TMONEY is based on Ethereum protocol and it will be used for all transactions in Time Money platform
How will your tokens be independent of the ETH price if you will depend on Ethereum's protocol(smart contracts) to process transactions? If you really want a token independent from ETH price, start by building your own blockchain protocol and block explorer.
40  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you have empathy for rekt "investors"? - POLL on: September 12, 2018, 10:25:43 AM
If we are talking about the rekt investors that have a similar situation to the man in the article you linked OP, I am somehow laughing my arse off from hearing that someone brave enough risked their whole life savings, gained a hefty sum of profit from bitcoin market movements, then at the end lost it by investing onto altcoins without the knowledge on investing into it but I don't feel sympathy for them, they reap what they sow. Although if we are talking about people who got their life greatly affected by the decision made by those gamblers, I feel a little sorry for them since suffering from with investors who got rekt is not their responsibility, they are not the one who made the decision after all.
