You're linking to livejournal.com, I'm pretty sure that stopped being relevant a long time ago.

Except for Russians.

I loved this thread and ended up quoting some of you in a piece about how people use BTC, hope that's ok.  http://simulacrum.cc/2013/04/15/what-do-people-actually-buy-with-bitcoin/

I like this!  Although it's almost too subtle.

Здраствуйте,

Здесь опрос сообщества биткойна.  Он на английском языке но я надеюсь что слова достаточно ясные чтобы несколько из вас могут ответить.

30  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin Community Survey on: February 19, 2013, 12:04:42 PM
Hi all,

I made a survey/census for Bitcoin users (noobs and veterans alike), please do leave your mark.  I'm curious to know more about the demographics of the community, and what kind of experience others have had. I hope others are curious too, so I'll make the results fully open after the survey has been running for one week. Feedback on the form is also welcome.

I posted it in Reddit and the Newbie boards already so it's on 80 responses -- apologies if you've already come across it there.

People on Reddit were blaming Reddit for driving heavy traffic here, but I couldn't find any one highly voted thread that would explain it.

I would love to break out of newbie jail please!  Though I see the value in this as a filter...

Interesting one. I hope everyone answers it honestly (I did) and doesn't make a joe out of it.

Interested in the results. Make sure to post them here.

Glad you enjoyed it, and I will be very sure to post the results here.  It may reassure you to know I've done this before for the Ingress gaming community and the stats were quickly posted in all their glory!

I think it's about 3% female so far.  Any lower and you would have to express it in sigmas of uncertainty!
36  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin Community Survey on: February 16, 2013, 06:44:01 PM
It would be great if you posted a link in other forums, or even in the non-newbie section of this forum!

One thing I'll say so far: I hope nobody is hoping to find a wife via the Bitcoin community.

Thanks for the all the responses so far, keep them coming!  And let me know if there's anywhere else I should post this...

39  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin rebrand on: February 14, 2013, 01:10:31 PM
The colour palette is an improvement but without the two lines it looks less like a currency.  It's not just the $ that uses a double-line to indicate currency, it's also the €uro and ¥en...even sterling is sometimes indicated with ₤.
