thats why most guys buy 7950 for LTC mining ...

Hey guys, I know I can set up Cgminer easily to change pools if the primary is not responding. But how to do it in Reaper? My current pool is being DDoS-ed, so I would like to set reaper to change to other pool in a case of emergency.
Thanks

is it just me or the pool is really unstable over last couple of days?
my workers are currently getting "Weird response from server" error (using Reaper).
Why did you guys re-opened the registration when you can't handle the load?
do you have some issues again? my workers can't connect. Also the number of users dropped from 1k to 430.
you don't need CD/DVD ROM as well
I would also add more RAM than usually so you can switch to LTC in the future

When did you place this order? I could be wrong but this looks like a very recent order.
Initial order for this Placed Dec 24th 2012. are you sure? one of my orders from January is around 17k, so 2000 lower ...

I am mining for a while, but was always using my work computer. Finally, I decided to get a new dedicated miner. It has one MSI 7970 and Asus Ares 2, so basically little more than 3 x 7970. I know you may argue that Asics are comming so there was no point investing into a GPU rig, but once the BitCoin difficulty is too high, I will mine other coins. This rig will also have BFL asics connected to it in the future (hopefully ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) ). This is how it looks like: ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fimageshack.us%2Fa%2Fimg856%2F1151%2Fimg0130sn.jpg&t=663&c=mU5ASFJv1rJNVw) ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fimageshack.us%2Fa%2Fimg526%2F2088%2Fimg0128uz.jpg&t=663&c=e7Zb1T1dEBwSTg) ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fimg812.imageshack.us%2Fimg812%2F1745%2Fimg0129hfq.jpg&t=663&c=sXdNYrv5plsl1g)

RoboCoder, can you please post your GPU Tweak settings?

FYI.. i have one of these - I can stable overclock to 1225, after that it will start locking up or reseting. My average has been 740 MH/s per GPU - so total of 1.48 GH/s - been running for 3 weeks at that with no problem. Temps stay low 50's in a 70 degree F ambient, but even when temps got up higher I have not left the mod 60's.
On the radiator, one fan is attached, the other is included. In a higher ambient environment you really need to attach the second fan on the other side. They are decent fans - moving more air that basic case fans but not super high CFM.
Has 3 225W power connectors - I run with a silverstone 1500W - Dont use shared or split connectors for these - if you can pull from different power rails for each connector - you need to. I managed to trip the P/S a couple times until i distributed it correctly. have room on the board for 2 more 7970's but with the radiator fans that puts me right up at the p/s limits with this and then the 2 7970's.
Pretty cool card all-in-all. Heard there were only 1000 sold in US. Got it mostly out of curiosity - been mining it for a while and it is definitely a work horse and contributes a lot less to my server room ambient that other 7970's. And it is nice for high density situations.. I kept the case and parts pristine - i am quite certain if i sell it in a year or so i can recoup half of what I paid or more so it was a fun experiment and i probably won't loose anything on it.
thanks for review. I have ordered it a week ago, hope to mine with it soon. these cards are limited to 1000 globaly, not only US.

first of all, great job man!
However, I am experiencing little issues. I have 2 cards, 7970 and 7870. Any time I increase the Thread concurrency to more than 8192, the GUIminer reports an error in Win7. I was trying to increase this attribute according to your other topic - 7970 -> 21712 and 7870 -> 15360.
Anyone experiencing the same?
edit: nevermind. found out that cgminer doesn't support such high concurrencies, so I had to use Reaper instead.

I know everyone goes crazy about ASICs these days, but did you guys see the newest 7970 dual beast? I am wondering how many Mhash it can provide. It says 130% faster than a regular 7970, so maybe around 1600 MHash/s is possible. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fid.asus.com%2Fwebsites%2Fglobal%2Fproducts%2F1bZEYSk9yt4lJ2Yr%2FROG_ARES_II%2520.jpg&t=663&c=jA1OsOgfrcI2xg) Here is the official page: http://www.asus.com/Graphics_Cards/ARES26GD5/

I am also about to build a rig and really like this open case ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.quietpc.com%2Fimages%2Fproducts%2Fae-strikex-air-large.jpg&t=663&c=F4vleMV6GJragg)

+1 Great post for BitCoin newbies

according to latest news, BFL should ship early orders next week. Will they announce another delay? Think so ...
too late to order one now unless you are willing to pay like $10k for Avalon 1/2 batch or BFL early orders.

Hey, bitcoin rookie here ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) too bad I didn't pay attention to it a year ago
