22  Economy / Auctions / [SELL] Avalon 3-module in-hand (shipped or picked up in Stockholm Sweden) on: July 16, 2013, 08:54:55 AM
I'm selling an Avalon ASUC unit with 3 modules. Latest firmware, hasing at over 80 GH. This is a powerful miner that you can get mining instantly, without any preorder delays.

Local pickup in Stockholm Sweden or shipped globally.

The machine:
- Mining consistently at 80 GH/s with latest firmware and stock cooling.
- Can be overclocked for more hashpower with better cooling.
- Produces ~1.55 btc/day at current difficulty.
- Batch 2, no hardware problems, very stable.
- Latest firmware allowing over-clocking.

The transfer:
- Shipped from Sweden globally by the carrier of your choice but you pay the shipping cost.
- Local pickup possible in Stockholm Sweden.
- If you want to escrow (John K or similar) you pay escrow fees.
- Escrow is to be released after receiving shipment tracking information.
- Inspection by someone you trust is possible in Stockholm Sweden, before or when shipping. Yes, you can have a trusted friend come to my private home to witness mining, packing and shipping. Upon witnessing pickup by carrier, such trusted party will be expected to digitally sign a statement giving escrow the go-ahead for release.
- If necessary, OTC and localbitcoin history can be provided to increase my trustworthiness.

The auction:
- Auction ends Tuesday 2013-07-23 at noon UTC (12:00 GMT) or earlier if a conditioned bid (see below) is accepted.
- No specific minimum bid, but I'm thinking somewhere around 115 btc.
- Minimum increase 1 btc.
- Buy-it-now price negotiable, meaning you can condition your bid with "if auction ends by yyyy-mm-dd hh:nn UTC"
- Since I'm posting this elsewhere as well, I reserve the right to prolong, end or cancel the auction here.
- Additional bids extend the auction by 1 hour.
- Recently registered (newbie) users can participate if cleared via pm.

You're welcome to post questions for clarifications, but please refrain from "joking" accusations. If you have a serious concern, be serious about it and we'll address it. If there is any way to lower your "risk of being scammed" without having me take that risk instead, please let me know.
23  Economy / Services / Re: Experienced Programmer Looking for Small Jobs on: March 26, 2013, 08:52:05 AM
Hi!

I'd like a set price for the following two-part job. Just ask if you need more details. I'd appreciate if you also specify your choice of method (language, dependencies, protocols).

Part 1:
A server-side script runnable on the Linux platform to perform these steps:
- Receive a request over a protocol that is widely supported in AJAX (JSON over HTTPS or your suggestion). The request consists of a function name and a variable-length list of parameters, all of them strings.
- Transform this request into a PostgreSQL database lookup, calling the function with a prefix added to the name and with the given arguments. (Just query "select * from prefix_functionname('arg1', 'arg2 ... 'argN');")
- Return the result in a way that the client can determine whether the query was successful, and if so read the content of the returned data. All returned fields will be strings. The script should not depend on column names.

I will expect the script to be secure, not allowing sql injections or security holes of any sort, or calling any database function with a name lacking the mentioned prefix. The script should of course also be reasonably efficient.

Part 2:

An html/javascript page getting data from the JSON API and showing the result in a grid. Basically a mockup just to test that part 1 actually works. Depending on the price and quality of part 1, I'd like to hire you for the actual client side application.

You should have requested him to send the code first. Being that you are both Jr. Members, you both likely had no reason to trust each other.

be sure to use escrow or request trade history info from whoever you plan to transact with.

Good advice. I would have accepted any such measures if CryptCard had requested it.

I have sent you the 0.2BTC and now there are more than 50 conformations.
When do you send me the YubiKey promo-code?

Extremely sorry for the 2-day delay, had a full weekend. The code is now in your PM inbox.

Let me know if it works, otherwise you'll get your BTC back. Please post in this thread when you can confirm the code works.

CryptCard won the auction.

OK. Countdown 24 hrs. If nobody else's interested by that time you'll get it, otherwise auction's on.

Got a promo-code for a free Yubikey from MtGox. Won't be using it, and since MtGox stated it's okay to give the code away, I'll do so: I'll give the code away for free unless more than one user wants it, in case it'll be an auction.

Mail from MtGox below.

=======================================

Dear [WITHHELD],

Thank you for using MtGox.

We appreciate your presence and would like today to give you
a free Yubikey. Considering recent problems with hacked accounts,
hacked computers and more, we see the Yubikey as a good step
toward better security.

You can read more on the Yubikey from the Yubico website:
http://www.yubico.com/ - note that the yubikey we offer is only
usable on MtGox.

To receive your free yubikey, you just need to login on http://mtgox.com/
click "Security Center" in the menu.  Then, click "Add New" under the Yubikey menu.
Choose if you want either a yubikey with our logo or not, and on the next page
enter the following code:

[WITHHELD]

(note: this code will expire in 1 month.)

Important: Please click on "Add Coupon" underneath otherwise your order will be charged. WE WILL NOT REIMBURSE ANY FUNDS IF THE ORDER HAS BEEN PLACED INCORRECTLY.
Once done, you can fill your address, and confirm your order on the following page.
Please remember that the code can be used only once (after confirming your address,
the code will not be usable
anymore).

Please be advised that if your country's custom charges any duty or tax upon the arrival of your Yubikey, we will not be able to refund that.

You can also give this code to someone else and let them get a
free Yubikey.

Enjoy your trading!

From all the MtGox team

OK, so here comes just that: How to securely make your own bitcoin bills.

Fast & easy version:
- Go to bitaddress.org.
- Choose the "Paper Wallet" tab.
- Print. Done.
If you want to use the bills to receive coins but not spend them, you can rip the bill in two pieces. The rightmost piece marked "Spend" is to be left at home or in a secure place. The leftmost piece marked "Load & Verify" is all you need to receive coins and check the balance on the bill.

Paranoia version (but without encryption):
- Go to bitaddress.org.
- Save the page as an html file and transfer it to an isolated computer (no internet or network connection).
- Open up the html page on this isolated computer after making sure you closed your door and blinds.
- Be sure to obey the counsel to move your mouse around.
- Choose the "Paper Wallet" or "Bulk wallet" tab.
- Don't print or save anything. Instead, copy the private keys to a piece of paper using a pen (no digital equipment). While doing this, make sure not to leave any marks on what's underneath the paper, for example by holding the paper in your other hand.
- Store this piece of paper in a secure location.
- Print or copy the addresses.
- Get hold of 10 gal of HCl and an equal amount of H2SO4. Mix these ingredients and add all the internals of your isolated computer.
30  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Whitelist Requests (Want out of here?) on: February 21, 2013, 04:11:52 PM
Hi,

I'd like to be whitelisted so that I can respond to various trade offers on the forums. I've been trading large amounts face-to-face and can prove my identity on #bitcoin-otc and localbitcoins if needs be.

Thanks!
