21  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What will be Boris legacy? on: October 29, 2019, 12:40:44 PM
If Boris will successfully achieved the brexit then his legacy will be  to have Britain acquire back its full autonomy and its identity. When you are part of the European Union there are pros and cons and one of the cons is that somehow the control over your country will be affected by the Union. Thus exiting the union will allow britain to have full control over its resources, politics and decisions and etc.  And also leaving the European Union means savings on the part of Britain since if they are no longer part of the UE then they will no longer give out some funds as required by the Union. Thus Boris will have those legacy to Britain. But somehow its not easy to push the brexit since there are many oppositions.
22  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoin needs institutional money coming in? on: October 29, 2019, 12:07:59 PM
Yes bitcoin needs institutional money but not only institutions but from all people in all kinds of life. Bitcoin has a value because there is a demand for bitcoin and that certain demand gives bitcoin a value. Without demand then there will be tremendous selling spree in the market.  But with a large number of people as well as companies and institutions supporting bitcoin then the market price wont drop drastically.
23  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can there be some Bitcoin Central Agency in future? on: October 29, 2019, 11:20:05 AM
People often tend to say that Bitcoin is a P2P currency based on the trust between two people. However it's obvious that these days scams are on rapid rise while governments are generally not providing any legal security to those who are involved in this. So do you think there can be some central Bitcoin Authority represented by various people who can become jury in such cases of dispute? I think this can also increase adoption as people can trust btc more. Also even countries would feel safer as such an authority can conyrol certain malpractices

Bitcoin is decentralized but if we look at the situation today brokers and exchangers are now being required by the government to comply with the KYC regulations. Possibly in the future there will be some agency that will look into the activities pertaining bitcoin. As the government around the world unite to create the UN they will also unite to create an interagency focusing on cryptocurrency. An agency that will secure that cryptocurrency is not being used illegally and to make sure that there will be no price manipulation. We cannot but to follow the rules of the government even if we go against it we just have no power.
24  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Survey on Bitcoin ownership on: October 29, 2019, 11:10:25 AM
I am living in the Philippines and I disagree with the 10-20% of the total population who were holding bitcoins. In our country the total population is around more or less 108 million total population. I also checked one of the leading brokers which the Philippine have and I checked the numbers and it does not even reached 1 million. So the bitcoin owners in the Philippines were less than 1% and so the 10 to 20% idea is only applicable to some countries but not all.
25  Other / Politics & Society / Re: [POLL] Trump Impeachment Poll: Who's Fault Is It? on: October 29, 2019, 10:57:09 AM
I do not know if Trump is the best president but at least he has respect for life when he placed his position against abortion. I believe the thing against Trump is the group of Hilary Clinton. They have lost the election and Trump got into power and thus they are using the media which they have big influence on to destroy Trumps reputation. They only want to throw Trump so they can regain power at their side. Its all politics and its a dangerous game. But I bet Trump has also a trump card against the opposition and he will never fall down easily without a fight.
26  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Current cryptocurrency ranking in China on: October 29, 2019, 10:42:01 AM
This is a very exciting thing to look at. This topic really piques the interest of many and I also have read that list. China have really made its moves and is really making itself known in the world as one of the countries that have blockchain advantage. But something is bugging me, why is it that EOS is number on where in fact it is relying on Ethereum platform. I also dont know why bitcoin has been left behind in that list.
27  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are there any applications on Mobile to trade crypto? on: October 29, 2019, 10:09:46 AM
There are actually many applications out there that allows you to trade on cryptocurrency. But among what I like the most is bitmart. Bitmart has a good feature including security features. Their mobile app is also user friendly and is very easy to use. But if you dont like Bitmart you can also try binance, Robinhood and others. Well thats all I can add to the list since these websites has a good reputation.
28  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the difference between ICO's and IEO's on: October 29, 2019, 05:12:39 AM
Actually there is no big difference between ICO's and IEO's since both are selling their token/coins. Only the process has a slight different but the end result is the same you will still be holding the coin/token that you bought. Lastly, most of ICO's and IEO's are scams. Only a few are legit and among those legit there are also failing projects. So this industry is very risky and the best way to choose a coin to buy is by looking at the existing coin in the coinmarketcap top 50.
29  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Holiday Season Card with QR code on: October 29, 2019, 03:11:47 AM
Holiday season is just around the corner and I am planning to come up with my own design of card with holiday seasons message and a QR code that they can scan and get Bitcoins as a gift. Its not limited to Holiday seasons only, it maybe used for special occasion too like birthday and weddings. Its a simple way to promote Bitcoin and increase awareness. What do you think guys?

That is  a nice idea but the real problem comes with the programming. How will they get free bitcoin from scanning your qr code since what we usually do is to scan the qr code of the receiver and not the other way around. I think your idea will be just an imagination in today except if you can create a program wherein when they scan a qr code they will receive a bitcoin.
30  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: WHEN THE LAST COIN HAS BEEN MINED. on: October 28, 2019, 10:36:12 AM
It hasn't happened yet, so don't think about it now

The answer is so funny. There are already answers to that questions and it is a very important news and information about bitcoin. I have already explained what will happen when the last bitcoin will mine and I will no longer mention it again. But the relevance of knowing what will happen when all the coin will be mined is very important as a miner and as a trader. As a trader when all coins are mined then that will be the start of bitcoins value increasing since there are no longer additional coin supply being sold at the exchanges.
31  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's your favorite way to receive money as a gift? Cash or digital.. on: October 28, 2019, 10:30:36 AM

People are increasingly attracted to receiving money in digital form.

The interest in digital cash is a glimpse into the future. The way we exchange funds in the global marketplace is shifting.
This could open a broader path for cryptocurrencies as a medium of exchange.

Time will tell. Now is the time to position.

Having digital currency as a gift is really convenient and high-tech. If you send someone a digital currency you will no longer get out of the house and go to banks or to remittance centers all you need to do is lie down in your room and send it. In England that may be the good way to send a gift but in our are which is a rural area and I am the only one engaging in cryptocurrency then I will not receive a gift. So in my case I prefer it in form of cash due the conditions in my area.
32  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Journalists PANICKING After CA Law Effectively ENDING Freelance Journalism on: October 28, 2019, 10:25:29 AM
"Journalists Are PANICKING After Democrats Pass Law Effectively ENDING Freelance Journalism"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hXOSSI8ijns

If freelance Journalism will be removed then the remaining media left will be those who are being controlled by the government. If that is the case all news will be filtered leaving the democrats to have control over the news. Their bad reputation will be replaced by positive publicity, corruption and other illegal activities done by the government will no longer be shown on mass media. Aside from that they can just make their enemies to have bad reputation by streaming negative issues on their political opponent. This move is to protect their greed that is financial authority as well as political monopoly.
33  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: In 2019 over 40m cryptocurrency wallets have been created on: October 28, 2019, 10:16:34 AM
On topic reply about those increasing numbers, yeah its good to look at but doesnt mean those are real users considering that multiple wallets can be created by a single person.

Next one which this post is just simply a side advertisement of https://www.coin.space/ ? lol

Though there are certain cryptocurrency holders who uses multiple wallets but it does not account the total number of wallets that has been increased. There are still new users who uses that wallet. Though we cannot account how much has the community have increased using the wallets but given the facts it is still a good news that there is an increase in the community. Though we cannot give the exact number but the rise in the number of wallets is already a big thing to the community.
34  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is a Tech not "Manna" from the skies! on: October 28, 2019, 10:02:17 AM
There is this misconception that has been created about bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in general which needs to be cleared once and for all. I quote Satoshi's words from his whitepaper "A purely peer-to-peer version of electronic cash would allow online payments to be sent directly from one party to another without going through a financial institution."
Maybe i misinterpreted this but where in this statement is it written/implies that bitcoin is going to get rid of poverty. Let's not get things twisted and funny enough when their false assumptions don't come to pass they tend to consider that the technology failed. Well i guess they failed in interpreting this simple message above.  Grin

You have a point but let us not forget that bitcoin nowadays is much more considered to be a store of value rather than as a for of payment. It means that people are into bitcoin because of the potential profit through trading.  Also let us also look at monetary inflation and economic collapse and that bitcoin can be a tool for them to escape poverty. I dont say that universally bitcoin could get rid of poverty but I am also not saying that it does not have the potential to help people alleviate poverty.
35  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Is this OKEx Site is it safe? on: October 28, 2019, 08:25:39 AM
I am rather familiar with crypto trading and trade once so every often, but recently I found this new website called OKEx and some of my fellow trading friends are using it. Is it safe to trade in it? I worry whether my friends are safe when they trade.

Some of my friends have been using Okex since last year and there was no problem that they encountered. Withdrawals and deposit are okay and also trading in that site is also good. But even if Okex is okay we must still be cautious since even big exchanges are being attacked by hackers and so it is best not to keep your coins inside the site but store it well on your wallet instead.
36  Other / Politics & Society / Re: America Starts Arresting and Charging Fines For Saying Bad Words, As Hong Kong>> on: October 28, 2019, 08:22:45 AM
It doesn't have to be like this. If there are arrests for saying words, file a claim in a common law court of record. Stand present in court. Don't be represented even by yourself.  The claim is that nobody will come forth with an injury that you did. If somebody says your words hurt him, claim that his causing you to be arrested is hurting you much more. Freedom of speech is protected by the 1st Article to the Bill of Rights.

America Starts Arresting and Charging Fines For Saying Bad Words, As Hong Kong Gets A Victory!

There is good news and bad news. The good news is Hong Kong finally got one of their demands met, and that is there has been a withdraw from the extradition bill. Now Hong Kong protestors are likely to still continue protesting, as there is yet 4 more demands to be met.

Meanwhile here in the US we seem to losing more of our freedoms. As the latest attack are on our freedom of speech and First Amendment right. Right now, citizens are facing jail time and massive fines for simply offending someone and posting on Facebook. All that and more below…

[Go to the site and watch the video.]

Cool

To have a person unable to speak bad words is not losing our freedom but it is actually defending our freedom. It is defending our rights to be respected and not to be insulted. The ability to insult someone and hurt them emotionally using bad words is where the limitation of freedom comes in. Our exercise of freedom end where the freedom and rights of others begin.
37  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it Possible To Mine Bitcoin with Supercomputer? on: October 28, 2019, 08:16:03 AM
These Russians were jailed for attempting to mine bitcoin at a nuclear facility. Would they really have gotten coins mining with a supercomputer? https://www.cryptoinfowatch.com/russian-nuclear-engineer-jailed-for-mining-bitcoin-at-work/

In the article you qouted there was no mention of the supercomputer be able to mine some bitcoins. But here on this site https://www.hpcwire.com/2019/10/02/bitcoin-mining-on-russian-nuclear-supercomputer/ you can actually read that they have mined some currency before they are caugth. The thing is that the amount of coins they have successfully mined have not been disclosed.
38  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What is in mind of those, who against vaccination? on: October 28, 2019, 08:06:33 AM
The history of mankind should learn people smth. But, it is not. Many diseases dissapeared just because of vaccines. But some people forgot about that. They think that it has nothing to do with them. The fear of vaccination is stronger than the fear of death. I'm afraid that many deadly diseases can return someday.

There are so many cases of patients with measles in my country, but it still not encourage most people to vaccinate their children. They think it's a light child disease. And never speak about complications, that they children may have after measles.

How is the situation with vaccination in your country? Why do you think many people against vaccination?

The reason depends on what kind of vaccines being used. In the past vaccines has helped a lot of people combat disease but is not the case nowadays. There are now vaccines that instead of helping it actually causes sickness and death. Here in the Phillipines hundreds of children died from being injected with the compulsory dengvaxia vaccines in the schools. After the vaccination months after children being vaccinated were sent to the hospital and many have died.

We cannot blame people to be wary of vaccines because of the death toll parents are now afraid to let their children take vaccination.
39  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Coinbase New Phone 2FA Issue on: October 28, 2019, 07:58:19 AM
I created a coinbase account a long time ago.  I used an iphone and i verified my account with my sms phone number.  I don't remember if my 2FA was google authenticator or sms number.  It can be either right?  Because last time when i tried to log into my coinbase account on computer, i could not do it.

I contacted coinbase on this and they said i need to create a brand new coinbase account with a different email address.  Then upload a selfie for verification.  Then tell them about the situation so any funds i have in that account will move to the new coinbase account.  I was skeptical at this since it meant creating a brand new coinbase account.

To anyone that lost their 2FA phone, is this the proper way to do it?

Based on your statement you used your sms phone number when you verify your account but on the next sentence you already forgot if you used sms number. Somehow it is confusing but your problem is easy. You can try to use both the sms number or your 2fa. If it is your sms number then coinbase will send a code to your sms number. If it is 2fa then just use your 2fa code.
40  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My Bitcoin beat Bank interest rates and inflation. :-> on: October 28, 2019, 06:20:05 AM
In the last couple of days, I made more profit from selling a few coins, than what I would have been making in 3 years with the interest on my savings in the Bank.  Wink  I get about 5% yearly interest on any deposits that I have in my saving account at my Bank and I just sold some coins for a 20% profit.  Grin  <Subtract the fees and the capital gains taxes and I still get 3 times more profit, than what I would have got for a 3 year interest from an investment in a Bank>  Grin

So, I do not know what kind of interest you are getting and how long you have to wait for that, but my Bitcoin investment has just crushed the Bank saving option.  Wink

I also love the fact that my investment in Bitcoin is growing much faster than my local inflation rate of +/- 2%  Wink

Let's discus your local investment options compared to the returns that you are getting from Bitcoin and let's see who is the winner in this fight to beat inflation.  Wink

In my country banks offer time deposits as low as 1 to 2 percent interest annually. Last quarter of 2016 I have a 300 dollars worth of bitcoin and on October 2017 my 300 dollars become more than 3000 dollars. Within ten months my money has multiplied 100x. So compared to banks earning in bitcoin is great. Even in trading just last week and yesterday I have earned 40 dollars from my 160 dollars, it means that I profited 25% out of my initial capital which banks cannot give.
