21  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: 7970 vs 7950 vs 5970 on: April 10, 2013, 12:46:19 AM
i am able to tweak a little more but i am running two 5970's getting 1.26mh/s Ltc solo mining. 3 days and no block found yet Sad

i let this run the other day on btc for about 5 hours and made .03 of a coin Smiley

0-1 has an aftermarket cooler
2-3 has stock cooler.

Lol... man Solomining isnt going to be worth it until 10Mh/s ... You have a few rigs to build until you get there... do Notroll or other litecoinpools...

Anyone have any good case recommendations?
I've been using NZXT cases for a few years now. Very happy with them. Looks like they got this one back in:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811146067

Unfortunately that case would only ever fit 3 cards
26  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Hardware Unlock Voltage for 7950 HELP? on: April 09, 2013, 02:43:45 PM
still nothing? FX2 doesnt exist for 7950
27  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Looking to build a rig... Looking for some advice on: April 09, 2013, 02:41:19 PM
that case looks sick... the only thing about getting a case... and finding the right motherboard is having the space to put it all... if you look at http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202001

Its a double wide card... taking up 2 slots in the back of the computer... If you want a dedicated mining rig with 4 slots you need 8 evenly spaced slots for the cards... Anyone have a motherboard / case for that? o0o0o even 3 per rig would be fine.
28  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: New mining rig, is it worth it? Are the parts good? on: April 09, 2013, 02:39:50 PM
The way that difficulty is going up ... getting that now is not really worth it... it may take you a month or so to pay off that card... but ... then you will still be making about 10$ a day from that one card... go ham and get a 7950 make 15$ a day... or go super ham and get the 7970 and make 20(ish)
in the future the 7970 or the higher the hashrate will hold better... keep that in mind... my 7950 gets about 3 LTC a day... so currently 12$ a day... expect about 2-2.5 for your card thats about 8-10

you get what yo upay for... its your choice. Smiley
29  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: BUying 7970's Which do you recommend... why? on: April 09, 2013, 02:36:41 PM
That's a really interesting topic.
I am about to buy a Gigabyte 7970 GDDR5 GV-R797OC-3GD. These are the only ones in stock unfortunately.
Is there anyone with experience with them?
as far as i know GIgabyte is hardware locked on voltage, so your OC is VERY limited to small increments... However I think you can flash the BIOS on a 7970 with a diff firmware to unlock it but im not sure... thats why im staying away from gigabyte ... on the otherhand my 7950 that is supposed to hit 582 MAX OC ... im getting about 650khs with 1025 core and 1400 mem.

But Im looking at the sapphire...

32  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / BUying 7970's Which do you recommend... why? on: April 08, 2013, 06:09:22 PM
Im looking to buy 7970's to build mining rigs for ltc... which brand or company do you recommend? and why?

I am going to be overclocking so voltage unlock or unlockable is a must... Smiley

Thanks!
33  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Looking to build a rig... Looking for some advice on: April 08, 2013, 05:26:48 PM
Probably a full tower, thank you for the recommendation...

One other thing, im looking to do 7970's instead of the 7950's
Which one do you guys recommend getting (Company) because like my 7950 its Hardware Voltage locked.. I need to OC my card and I know some companies lock theirs.

37  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Looking to build a rig... Looking for some advice on: April 04, 2013, 09:03:32 PM
Im looking to build a rig to start with about 2-3 7950's and I would like some advice as to what the requirements are for some hardware components.

Basically I'm not going to get too specific on the type or brand of the product but the performance of it...

Budget 1500$
Items that i need: (or so i think)

BTC a 1000W PSU
BTC PCIe x16 4slot Mobo
BTC RAM... (how much do i need?)
BTC Processor(Can i get some 50$ processor or should i go all out.)
BTC 2-3x7950
BTC Either an Open Case as shown somewhere on this forum. Or if someone can recommend a cheap, efficient tower.
BTC Risers? (not sure what those are but they sound like i need them)
BTC a couple fans (to fit the case otherwise can buy random fans to place in the Open case)

Please make some modifications or additions(or subtractions) to my list, if you can provide price ranges or links that would be even better!

Thank you!

38  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 7950x4 LTC Mining Build Check on: April 04, 2013, 08:57:02 PM
keep in mind with Difficulty increase brings Price increase so dont take 90 as a bad thing... Asics only mine about 5-7 BTC back before Batch 3... thats about 400-800$ now ... lol

Hi,
I just moved to GUIMiner-Scrypt today and I am getting an Unusually high number of Invalids with this

636.14 kH/s    Speed  663,538 Valid   16,176 (2.38%) Stale   77,264 (10.21%) INvalid   0 Blocks found

This is on a 7950 Running GUIMiner-Scrypt with host litecoinpool.org:3333 Stratum on and 7950 Preset option (high Usage)

Check your settings. Usually a shit ton of invalids are caused by your intensity being set too high.
Thanks, I have it running at I:20 although that is the recommendation, ill change it Smiley thank you.
40  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: What machine should I buy? on: April 04, 2013, 01:53:20 AM
I think BFL is trying to make ASICs, if only because they delivered previously on their promise of FPGA miners. However, I also think they ended up in way over their heads on this one. I think they released specific technical details before they'd actually validated those details with a prototype and are now wrestling with a much more complicated process than they'd anticipated while trying desperately to make their promised product into reality.

The last video I saw from them was of a prototype box generating nonces and pulling just over 120w, more than twice their promised 60w. They're more than 8 months late on their promised shipping date and I don't think the latest dates they've thrown out are anything other than wishful thinking on their part. I do think they've eventually ship, but I don't think they'll ship any time soon.

If you want to get into ASIC mining at this point, your best bet would be to buy shares of ASICMINER on https://btct.co/. Full disclosure: I own shares of ASICMINER.

Im not sure how they are having so much trouble NOW seeing as Avalon released their source for Asics... And worst part is that all their bitcoins they accepted should have been held in a a sort of Escrow and allowed refunds...
