21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Good coins to accumulate and hold relatively long to mid term on: August 22, 2016, 01:42:57 AM
For the most part I'd advise against any crypto currency with >$1mil dollar market cap, with that in mind a few recommendations are:

BitBay $ 505,478  (By far the best investment you could make right now)

Qora $ 639,971
Krypton $ 440,011
Burst $ 457,970
ShadowCash $ 1,560,114
Aeon $ 245,331

Been trading crypto for going on 3 years now, and one thing I've learned is that PR is usually far more important for getting a high market cap than underlying tech.  So in that regard I can definitely say that Krypton has got it made.

Bryce Weiner is a pig and deserves to be in prison, anyone dumb enough to give this guy their money deserves to lose everything.

If you want a safe investment then stay out of crypto, I'd recommend silver.

Personally I think everything on that list qualifies as shit-tier, except for bitcoin.
26  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETC on Polo on: July 26, 2016, 04:30:03 PM
If they add margin trading for ETC (and I think they will) the Dao attacker can take out a massive margin long, and skyrocket the price, speculators will piggy back on the attacker's trades.  I fully expect the two to reach parity at the very least, no way the attacker cashes out at such low prices.
27  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Some guy threatens ETC (Ethereum Classic) with a 51% attack on: July 24, 2016, 06:47:08 PM
Of course he could just be trying to scare people into dumping at low prices, and will then pump it.  We also don't know who the ETH hacker is, for all we know he could be in cahoots with the miners, or the Ethereum Foundation, or could just be a lone wolf.  There are too many unknowns here and you can't really trust a word from anyone.
28  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What alt is the next best thing? on: June 25, 2016, 01:53:46 PM
BitBay and Qora are two legitimate projects and both have market caps under $1 mil.  Definitely good to have in the short/medium term, unclear if they will see more long term success though.
29  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum is now getting negative coverage in the mainstream media on: June 18, 2016, 06:23:54 PM
With just 27 days to go before the proposed solution becomes ineffective, the digi-currency sits at an extraordinary crossroads: intervene and risk undermining the entire currency, or let the theft pass and risk undermining the entire currency

Checkmate.

or you know, maybe they catch the guy or the guy/hacker wont sell the ETH?

catching him implies he did something illegal, and that does not appear to be the case
30  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Solution to Sia/Storj/etc DDOS issues and Sybil Vulnerability on: June 15, 2016, 03:49:06 PM
No decentralized storage can solve the Sybil attack on storage where many nodes are sharing the same storage, but collecting payments or otherwise deceiving the claimed redundancy as if they have multiple copies of the storage.

It is a fundamental weakness that can not be fixed. Decentralized storage can not work. Period. End of story.

Latency is not reliable enough to be used as an indicator.

Even assuming you are right about all of this (which I think you may be), I still don't think this will stop the coming bull market for file storage coins; speculators don't care about functionality, they care about hype!  Now that Ethereum is just about dried up, they need a new fantasy to cling to, I think this might be it.
31  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 23, 2016, 11:53:13 PM
You know the Eth dumps in the night
Eth dumps in the day
Try to run
Try to hide
Dump on through to the other side

So, I definitely agree that Eth will eventually be dumped into oblivion, but I also see that it is getting added to coinbase.  I was turning it over in my head that there is a possibility of Eth getting pumped one final time because of its addition there, and then will subsequently be dumped before the 28th; what are your thoughts on this, R0ach?
