5 ethers are created every block (roughly 15-17 seconds) to the miner of the block
2-3 ethers are sometimes sent to another miner if they were also able to find a solution but his block wasn't included (called uncle/aunt reward) This is straight from the eth faq. 72 million eth is premined. %78 of the total circulating supply. That is what i am expecting with them if they are planning to create a new coin,they will premine and make trillions with it but who will be investing in it.  This is a real threat by them and we now have a date on how things might go in the bitcoin world,i am not sure whether this will be a thing to be worried as the uncertainty increases how will the market react to these news,i think there will be a correction because i am sure people will panic . Anyway, if Ethereum is premined and the owner is holding 77% supply or whatever, worth some $14bil, why not just sell it all? With that much money he would be up there with the big dogs. Not just his own future secured, but 10 generations would have an easy life.
