hold on a second. there is not enough info on ltc forum. serious ltc miner scan only find relevant info here. please understand.

we don't need to pump any other digital currencies here. the legit ones will stay, weak ones will fade out. Pumping won't make any currency come true. it's supply and demand, and the underlying security and privacy.

how about parity with gold, this is possible.

again, if i were the asic makers, i would use the devices to mine coins until the hashing difficulty is much higher, then ship out the devices.

why give up your gold egg laying hens while they are still productive (reproductive? ) Smiley

just plain business sense.

I assume you don't have access to asic hardware. If that's the case, welcome to litecoin mining Smiley You can still fly solo on a few video cards, and should be able to land a block in about two days.

I meant litecoin is still a fair game, in my previous post.

I would say Radeon HD 7970 should be a good start. You get the money back in about three month, or sooner, if the trend is still on.

I must say I don't like this newbie restriction, but that's life.

bitcoin miner turning to litecoin due to unfair mining advantage from the asic hardware. but life is not about fairness isn't it:)

My prediction is Bitcoin should reach parity with gold soon. But people tend to just hoard bitcoin, just like gold, for risk aversion.

Litecoin should become the trading currency.

Just my 2 cents.

I would say it's a bit too late to mine for bitcoins now using consumer desktop GPUs. ASIC is the way to go, but it's very difficult to land one even if you are willing to pay top bucks.

I would treat bitcoin as a stock or commodity now, and just trade it.

Litecoin, on the other hand, is still a fair gain for home miners.

My personal pref to go solo is when I can have above 55% chance of solving a block in about 24 to 30 hours.  Otherwise, pool mining is a better choice for more consistent return. Again, just personal pref.
