21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XRP] Ripple Speculation on: May 27, 2017, 01:55:34 AM
Ok so are you ready for them ? And by them I mean the masses:

http://www.cnbc.com/2017/05/26/bitcoin-rival-ripple-is-sitting-on-many-billions-of-dollars-of-xrp.html

Bitcoin rival Ripple is suddenly sitting on billions of dollars worth of cryptocurrency
Blockchain start-up Ripple is in a precarious position for a 5-year-old company.
The business is still in its very early days but suddenly has billions of dollars worth of cryptocurrency on its balance sheet.
Ripple, which built a digital payments network for real-time financial transactions, is also the creator and biggest owner of Ripple XRP, a digital currency that has increased in value by 40 times this year.

There's a total of 100 billion XRP in existence, each priced at about 26 cents. The $26 billion of total value is second among cryptocurrencies, behind bitcoin, which is valued at $41 billion.
Ripple owns about 61 percent — or $16 billion worth — of XRP.
If that were factored into the company's valuation, Ripple would be worth more than all but four U.S. start-ups — Uber, Airbnb, Palantir and WeWork.
XRP is surging alongside bitcoin and ether as well as smaller digital currencies like dash and monero. They're all benefiting from the growing interest in blockchain, a distributed electronic ledger that makes all transactions trackable. Unlike other cryptocurrencies on the market, XRP is tied to — and majority-owned by — a single company.

That's led to concern among XRP investors and enthusiasts that Ripple will one day decide to capitalize on its massive stake and flood the market with currency. Some venture investors would surely welcome cashing in on some of that value after pouring about $94 million into the company.
But for people with thousands (or millions) of dollars wrapped up in XRP, the fear of a sudden excess of supply has been unsettling, particularly considering the volatility of the currency. The price fell 13 percent late in the day on Thursday and double-digit daily moves are normal.
'Off the table'

To create some long-term stability and ease those concerns, Ripple announced a plan last week for the structured sale and use of its currency. By the end of 2017, the company will put 55 billion of its XRP into escrow and will unleash up to 1 billion into the market every month. Thus, investors will have some sense of what's coming.
"We decided to take the issue off the table," Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse said in an interview. "We wanted to make sure we were combating any uncertainty about supply."
Garlinghouse is a well-known name in Silicon Valley. He had senior executive roles at Yahoo and AOL and was CEO of Hightail (formerly YouSendIt) from 2012 to 2014. He joined Ripple in 2015, and earlier this year took over the CEO role from founder Chris Larsen, a serial entrepreneur, who previously started online lender Prosper.
Garlinghouse likened Ripple's situation to Yahoo, which derives almost all of its current value from its large stake in China's Alibaba. (Yahoo's core business is being sold to Verizon and the Alibaba stake is being spun out into a new holding company called Altaba.)
The analogy only goes so far, as equity investors haven't ascribed a big multibillion dollar valuation to Ripple. The company last raised money in September, when the XRP currency was worth a tiny fraction of its current price.
PLAY VIDEO

However, Ripple's business has picked up quite a bit of momentum since then, which helps explain at least some of XRP's rally. Last month, Ripple signed up 10 new financial institutions, including BBVA, to its payments platform that supports speedy transactions by eliminating all the friction that exists between various currencies and financial systems.
Global banks including Bank of America, RBC and UBS are also customers. While bitcoin is the more established cyptocurrency, it's primarily used today as an investment vehicle and has run into big latency problems with handling transactions.
Ripple and ethereum have emerged as the early leaders in enabling business arrangements, with Ripple trying to build the digital payments standard for the financial sector.
"Some of those banks are all in and some are still in the early stage running a pilot," Garlinghouse said. "We have real customers touching real production systems. We're the only company you can say that about in our space."

Factom Harmony Takes On the Mortgage Industry

Factom Harmony Takes On the Mortgage Industry

Already working with the Department of Homeland Security and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to secure records on their blockchain, Factom has now set its sights on the trillion-dollar mortgage industry. Having launched its new Factom Harmony solution in March, the company hopes to attract big banks and host their sensitive mortgage data. By increasing the efficiency of document management, Harmony will allow a seamless transaction process between lenders and brokers, without them having to worry about lost documents, altered agreements or incomplete records.
Built on the Factom Apollo data management solution, which allows users to store and create immutable digital records, Harmony "works with existing imaging or document management solutions to create secure, transparent, unalterable records for final loan documents." In the process, every file is secured within a blockchain container, locking in the order of the final documentation, recording each person who accesses files and rejecting duplicate documents.

Factom refers to this system as "a perfected digital audit vault" for each specific loan. Thus the core product behind Factom Harmony is called Digital Vault , which locks into time the most important closing documents and gives a complete history of every file from origination to close.

As an all-inclusive solution, Factom Harmony

creates a permanent record and index of final loan documents, making audits smooth by reducing quality control, due diligence and review time;

reduces costs by creating a single source that organizes the final documentation and provides cryptographic truth that each document is an authentic copy;

provides access control to multiple parties that can collaborate under audit conditions and exceptions, and includes an immutable audit trail of all actions on each document in real-time, giving a true history of every loan;

opens a secure audit room or due diligence deal room that can be tracked on the Factom blockchain.

According to Peter Kirby, CEO of Factom Inc., "The Harmony solution and the underlying Factom blockchain provide lenders with something that was fundamentally missing from the industry. With Harmony, a lender is able to create a final set of documents for each closed loan."

Right now, origination of a loan has underlying costs of about $7,500 per loan - up from approximately $2,500 per loan in 2006. The costs have tripled over the last few years as banks have been forced to step up their efforts to be in compliance with new laws.

Factom Harmony addresses many of the redundancy issues associated with these efforts by permanently documenting the process from the moment documents are first created, and then allowing that data to be quickly shared and verified digitally. Having digital records that can be securely shared and verified also speeds up financial institutions' ability to settle transaction among themselves. Factom does not claim to move money faster, but it does attempt to allow others to have the confidence in the data they are reviewing and thus speed up the processes.

According to Factom, Harmony is the first practical and effective deployment of blockchain technology in the mortgage industry. Through combining blockchain technology, advanced cryptography tools and a digital fingerprint for each document or data file, lenders can securely store and expose individual loan files or documents to various third parties.

"This technology dramatically changes the approach and reduces the costs for audits, third-party reviews, litigation costs and due diligence costs," Jason Nadeau, executive vice president of Factom, said in a statement. "The combination of blockchain and digital signature technology within Factom's solution creates a solution where the benefits of digital signatures and electronic vaulting are now available for all documents without having to deploy any eMortgage or eClosing technology."

Toni Moss is the founder and CEO of AmeriCatalyst LLC , an advisory firm located in Austin, Texas, specializing in corporate strategy, business development, market intelligence and market positioning for companies engaged in all sectors of the residential real-estate and housing finance industry in the North American market. Moss has advised clients including Citigroup, Goldman Sachs, Deutsche Bank, the European Commission and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Well-known in the U.S. mortgage industry, she is a big fan of Factom Harmony, and had this to say about the blockchain-based solution:

"The industry remains disparate and fractured with regard to the acquisition, management, distribution and protection of data, with a wide variety of third-party providers, proprietary platforms and programming languages. It's just a matter of time before mortgage data is aggregated into a secure and centralized industry utility - and blockchain [technology] is the most promising catalyst to enable it," Moss said to Bitcoin Magazine.

"As data becomes more plentiful, accurate, accessible and immutable, investors will have the confidence to return to the mortgage market; processing, servicing and transactional costs (should) decrease; and the market itself will be far more secure and sustainable in the long-term."

Factom has yet to announce any contracts or partnerships related to its mortgage solution, but the time is right for big banks to start utilizing blockchain technology. In a separate recent development for the company, the Factom blockchain was made accessible to Chinese developers through WanCloud , a product released by Wanxiang Blockchain Corporation to drive progress among Chinese enterprises.

It is totally incredible how easily people forget recent news about the XRP lock up, this news alone will take XRP past .50 in the short term.

There are a lot of whiners and posers here hoping for coins on the cheap but guess what that opportunity has past and if you didn't notice there is an influx of investors coming in.

XRP .29US is amazing and if you dont think so you have a long way to go ....maybe go buy a book by Jack Schwagger.

How is ETH integration coming along ? Will you guys add XRP?

Seamus mentioned you have a lot planned for 2017 why don't you hire a or firm & keep us informed bring in more investors ?
28  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Positive news from Ripple (XRP) on: May 23, 2017, 02:19:20 AM
The rise gradual rise in PPS over the past month or so is due to years of development and now finally adoption by multiple banks.

The fact is these banks collectively could buy out the XRP surplus at these prices and that very well may be happening.

Ripple has introduced a platform and a coin for banks & it makes sense users/banks would maintain use of the XRP.

This is incredible and the value of this project has not yet been realized, just a matter of time before Google kicks in, if I recall they were involved in this project from the very beginning.

For those that called a P & D last time good luck not making any money.
I think you didn't read what JoelKatz just wrote, or you are just telling lies to deceive people to buy XRP.
Banks have NO intention to buy or maintain XRP.

Well I hope I deceived many into buying cause they sure would have made a lot of money ; )

Facebook conversation with SONM team

ME: I would like to know why not do the funds raising USD based?
ETH is soo expensive now. ETH holders have an unfair advantage because they got eth cheap

SONM team: It will be corrected before ICO

screenshot http://prntscr.com/favofa

That is good news for Non-eth holders.

yes thats true,, eth holders who buy eth on cheap will be happy if this realized,,
i think its fair enough, they got this advantages because they believe on eth,,
but all decision is on the hands of SONM team,,
i hope the team will decided wisely about this

If they flip flop on what they offered which was 600 per ... i don't think it would look good from a value vs tech comparison. It would be like no faith ...
30  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: INTCoin ICO on: May 21, 2017, 08:32:30 PM
But why create a topic, if you really have nothing to discuss. Because there is actually nothing, other than pre-sale.
On the forum, I registered a short time ago, yes. But crypto I have been studying for 2 years.
No one is pulling his hand into the project. And yes, maybe this is fraud., We also do not know. The whole crypto world is a big bubble, and a high danger.
There is no information about the developers. There are only a couple of organizer names (and it's not very clear who they are). Smiley
I'm just like everyone else here, just trying to invest and look for interesting projects. If this is a scam, then God is their judge, they have already seen such scammers. We will see in June.

(I write through Google translator)

This topic was created to figure out if anyone has any info on this project, usually developers post here and people are on top of opportunities here. Considering they intcoin are advertising that they have raise a substantial amount of money, I wanted to find out whether it was worth investing.

I still don't know anything about the developer credentials and about why anybody invested so I'm gonna skip this one until I get details ...
31  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XRP] Ripple Speculation on: May 21, 2017, 11:10:20 AM
I wouldnt care if it dumped all the way back to $.10. I'd just buy a shitload more and hold. When i got in I wasn't expecting to see any profits for a while. Ive been very pleasantly surprised by XRP and I'm sure it will continue to make me happy in the future. I always saw it as a long term investment.
bro, thats the reason it wont goto 20cents , or 30cents and soon 40, then 50 then $1+ lol

i think ,we all think like you  Smiley
+ as time passes new people buy slighty higher than older buyers and are willing to pay more if it is cheaper than their entry price.

I agree and I predict $2 by the end of this year. XRP is up 12% since yesterday. We've seen $0.4+ already and I'm sure we will see it again pretty soon.
Also I think most people who bought under $0.05 sold their coins already so no major dump expected.

2 is not possible. Do you smoke crack ? If xrp is 2 by end of year it would mean the market cap with current supply would be 77 billion. For the moment total market cap is 72 billion.

Please be realistic. And were talking with current supply so if there is more supply it is definitly some crazy crack talk.

watch & see

XRP the most heavily funded and significant coin of 2017 is only moving in one direction.

The Lock up which actually just happened will most definitely take XRP to 1.00. This is a fact of life. It is an inevitability. XRP coin will not look back at the carnage and those who settled for a pittance.

Can you afford to sit by & watch ?

What has happened today and is happening now can only be described as a historic moment. Those who believe this is temporary will soon realized. Ripple is the most heavily funded coin on the market and after years of development the best is yet to come.

I do see the Ripple XRP going well above $ 1 dollar in value in the very short term.

lol classic. its not a heavily funded coin its a heavily funded PROTOCOL. The coin is there for the ride, they make money off selling the protocol to banks

oh really thanks sherlock now I understand they didn't invest any money in developing XRP and today's news which directly impacts the future of the coin positively really has no impact on the rise in value of the XRP coin coin which everybody is buying  Tongue

So where is the announcement link thread of this coin? I have never seen this coin make an ICO thread, bounty or anything. Maybe I missed to check the marketplace section pages. So please give me the link, it's 20 days left presale.

I was wondering the same thing ...
39  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / INTCoin ICO on: May 15, 2017, 11:39:30 PM
Anybody here know about INTCoin, is this legit?  ICO is on now (1 BTC - 2099 INT) they apparently sold
2 202 093.12 worth of INT

https://www.intcoincurrency.org/

INTCoin

INTCoin is a next generation decentralized currency that takes advantage of blockchain capabilities for instant transactions with a minimum fee.

A distinctive feature of INTCoin is adoption of AniNote and SCS technologies, which are based on resolving issues of existing decentralized systems associated with consensus algorithm, network bandwidth and transaction anonymity.

CryptoNote: evolution of ideas lying at the core of bitcoin technology. This is a protocol allowing to develop fully anonymous cryptocurrencies. CryptoNote’s anonymity is ensured by the "ring signature" technology, which allows users to make their transactions absolutely unrelated.

At the same time, CryptoNote helps solve the problem of double expense typical for fully anonymous signatures, and uses egalitarian proof-of-work mechanism with equal voting rights for miners.

Realizing the advantages and prospects of this protocol, we have developed an original protocol, AniNote, which allows to expedite the transaction process while maintaining the same level of anonymity, and enhance the untraceability of transactions.

AniNote uses a multichannel ring signature to achieve the highest level of coin mixing when a large number of the system’s nodes is involved, and slightly modifies its algorithms.

Distribution of issue

The INTCoin issue is limited, with the number of issued coins decreasing by 3% over every subsequent 180 days (annual rate ≈ 5.9%). The coins are distributed in several ways:

    Initial budget: 4.5%
    Miner’s reward (POW): 47%
    Holder’s reward (POS): 40%
    Development budget: 8.5%

Consensus algorithm

INTCoin features a hybrid consensus system, Proof-of-work (POW) + Proof-of-stake (POS), which allows to determine the balance between miners and currency holders to ensure stability and true decentralization, and helps prevent concentration of influence over development within a narrow circle.

This consensus algorithm enables participation in the system both using and without mining.

This message to old rusty poop members....

Business is good Ripple is hiring worldwide! I think they are very busy. Have you read the job descriptions:

We provide global financial settlement solutions to ultimately enable the world to exchange value like it already exchanges information – giving rise to an Internet of Value (IoV). Ripple solutions lower the total cost of settlement by enabling banks to transact directly, without correspondent banks, and with real-time certainty of settlement. Banks around the world are partnering with Ripple to improve their cross-border payment offerings, and to join the growing, global network of financial institutions and market makers laying the foundation for the Internet of Value.

We’re backed by prominent investors like Google Ventures, Andreessen Horowitz, CME Group, Santander Bank and Seagate Technology. We’re headquartered in San Francisco’s Financial District with offices in New York, London, Luxembourg and Sydney. As an industry advocate for the Internet of Value, Ripple sits on the Federal Reserve’s Faster Payments Task Force Steering Committee and co-chairs the W3C’s Web Payments Working Group.

Ripple is the most heavily funded crytocurrency and that is a fact no matter how many time you posted a message on the board lol

Look maybe apply for job if you missed the XRP coin mother of all opportunities since Bitcoin:
