So this means the PLDT Fibr isn't wireless and needed to connect directly?

Is there no other way (in my case that we are far from the last line of pldt) to connect internet other than this ultera?

Fibr is wired. Usually FTTN or Fiber To The Node. Ibig sabihin, fiber optic cable to the pole. Then copper wire (DSL) na to your house. Depende sa lugar mo rin.

Hindi maganda ang Ultera kasi wireless. Mataas ang ping. Mabagal minsan. Pag umulan o bumagyo, nawawala ang signal. Kasi cheap antenna lang yan, nakatutok sa cell site or signal towers nila, at usually dapat line of sight. Ibig sabihin, kita mo yung torre from your location using your eyes.

Another way (although I don't recommend unless ayaw mo talaga mag Ultera) is mag kabit doon sa pinaka malapit na connection. Then just wire it to your house, pwede naman ang CAT6 cable ng 100 meters. Pwede nga longer if your speed is below 100 mbps naman.

Another way is to use your own wireless connection. Pero advanced topic na ito. You set up two connections wirelessly, parang nasa same network sila, then just share the internet. Pwede up to 25 kilometers away from each other, pero again, advanced topic ito and not supported by ISP.

Do you have idea how much is the 100 mts cable wire? maybe we will avail the PLDT Fibr because I think this is the best among the rest (in our case)

Hirap kasi basahin , nakakawalang ganang mag post.

Bottom line: Ginawa ang local forum not only because of spoken language but also for internal issues of different countries.
24  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: Opinion About Federalism Of the Philippines on: October 04, 2016, 08:23:32 AM
Basic concept of federalism:

If you are a tax payer from Tawi-Tawi, do you want your tax to be use in Batanes only? Of course you wouldn't.

My point is we filipinos from province are paying tax for the infrastracture projects in manila that benefits by the people of manila only instead of building our bridge in our town that connects to schools that only accessible by boat.

I from province want to benefit my tax and I want change through federalism.

Boss Dabs,

Pano ba yung technical details neto at ano ibig sabihin nung bridge/route? ano difference nila?

Ang wireless is the Ultera. Wag na wag mo kunin yon unless you have no choice. They will put a canopy type antenna on your roof, like Smart Bro (same company naman sila.)

Route is when your DSL modem is also the router, assigns DHCP addresses, acts as a basic firewall, etc. Good enough for most people.

Bridge is a mode where the modem is just the modem. You connect a wire or ethernet cable directly to your PC (which you need to configure) or to another router. A little bit more advanced, but usually better if you know how to set it up. You can use a third party router / wifi access point such as Netgear or Asus. Or in my case Ubiquity (Edge Router and UAP-AC-Lite).

Actually, yung sa aken na modem is just a DSL modem that works with my service. I upgraded the firmware and turn off the built-in wifi, then I connected it to a switch. From the switch I connected an access point and put it on the wall near the ceiling. I was going to put the modem in bridge mode, pero hindi ko naman kailangan so I left it as is.

The built in ones from both globe and pldt, they're cheap and they suck. I would not use any built in wifi from those.

So this means the PLDT Fibr isn't wireless and needed to connect directly?

Is there no other way (in my case that we are far from the last line of pldt) to connect internet other than this ultera?

I don't have any problems with my connection. I'm thinking of downgrading
my plan pa nga to 3mbps 1299/month since sa tingin ko kaya naman. Kahit sabay gumagamit
laptop at desktop, nakamovie yung isa, yung isa youtube/fb/browse/etc plus yung mga phones
pa nagddl animes at lagi connected. Plus you get a landline pa.

Pero kung broadband ang gamit, wala talaga. Smart broadband dati, tsk. Nakaka-kunsumi.

Hmmm. Medyo mahal yan ah, pero siguro kasi the landline is included in the price.

P1299 is for 10 mbps.
Kung meron ka PLDT Fibr, meron P1899 for 50 mbps (50 GB usage/bandwidth) or P2899 for unlimited.
Kung Globe Broadband, meron P1299 for 10 mbps (100 GB) and P1599 for 20 mbps (150 GB). I would probably go for the P2499 for 100 mbps (1 TB) personally, if I were to try Globe.

I had their DSL service before for 5 mbps, wala naman masyadong problema, medyo spoiled lang ako sa faster speeds ngayon.

So dapat 10 mbps minimum target mo. Cellphone is 4g speeds only ... pang email email only. Unless meron free wifi.

We need a new ISP here in the Philippines other than PLDT. What do you think guys?

Do you guys have recommendation for internet subscription, were planning to avail internet connection in our dormitory(we're in different rooms) unfortunately the location of our dorm is far from the last pldt subscriber (direct line). We're thinking about globe modem then sharing for maximum 5 users but i think that is too slow connection.

My question: Is there any pldt promos (preferably wifi, no direct line since the last pldt subscriber is far from our dorm) that can accommodate our case?
29  Local / Pamilihan / PINOY AUTOCAD/STAAD THREAD (LEARN HOW TO BUILD 1-3 STOREY HOUSE) on: September 29, 2016, 04:42:39 AM
I created this thread for those people planning to build their own house in the future
using the Philippine Building Standard which are National Building Code of the Philippines and National Structural Code of the Philippines
with the help of softwares which are AUTOCAD, STAAD and MS EXCEL.

Topics:

1) PLAN & DESIGN USING AUTOCAD/NBCP
2) STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS USING STAAD/NSCP
3) ESTIMATES/COSTING USING MS EXCEL
4) BUILDING PERMIT
5) OTHERS

Sino ang freelance Civil Engineer diyan?

Gumagawa kasi ako ng sample project para may reference ako in the future, sana matulungan niyo ako.

Unang katanungan ko sana pano magcompute ng windload using NSCP 2010 for 3 storey.
Pangalawa Earthquake analysis using NSCP 2010 for 3 storey.

I found this thread interesting but the slot is just a little but i'm hoping that there is a currently available slot for newbies.

I'm looking forward to be included in your spreadsheet. Thank you.

Newbie here!

I'm here to learn and to loot some money for extra income.

I heard about this signature campaign and hopefully anyone can guide me the best way(step by step)! Thank you in advance  Smiley

Yes, there are a lot. First you have to explore the site and the threads. Post when you feel like it but avoid some trolling or flooding some nonsense. Usually campaign managers will take a review on your posts and see if it makes any sense before hiring you. Later on your rank will increase and at the same time the rate of pay increase too. Also avoid taking red trusts by being extra careful especially on promoting something or when dealing with someone. Good luck and happy learning while earning.

Thank you. Can you give me an idea where i can start signature campaign with high payout?(for newbie like me  Smiley)
