21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What happened to HZ Horizon, NXT clone? on: March 08, 2017, 09:23:19 AM
Main thread is locked, about to be delisted from poloniex, wtf happened?

https://bittrex.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/115003975867

It had a great distribution, and good devs, but looks abandoned ... does anybody know what happened?

Where does it say it is being delisted from Poloniex? Says Bittrex and takes me to the Bittrex zendesk.
Are you predicting it will be delisted or actually have a source?
22  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is it possible to mine with old onboard GPU? on: March 04, 2017, 09:37:54 PM
As everyone has said, it is a waste of energy and time. Go ahead and try, but there is no real support for it because it is not profitable.
23  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RIG CONTEST - Show me what you've got ! on: March 03, 2017, 10:18:11 AM
My rig is a 24/7 outdoor rig and I have not had any negative experiences with bugs. I assume the fans keep the bugs from crawling into the heat sinks. The rest is very hard to short because of the resistance of the bugs body.
24  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GPU ASIC Quality Thread on: February 23, 2017, 08:36:48 AM
ASIC quality is only important for Engine core clock.

Most of us are mining ETH and we only OC the memory not the core clock.

And there is no such thing as Memory Asic quality.

I am actually switching around to different algos depending on profitability and testing purposes. My friends also mine multiple other algos, mostly Monero. I understand that you may mine Ethereum specifically, but there are others who mine different algos. This was more of an attempt to gather information for future use. Ethereum is supposed to go Proof-Of-Stake in the future, resulting in many miners looking to mine other coins from Ethereum.
25  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / GPU ASIC Quality Thread on: February 22, 2017, 09:22:36 PM
Hello Bitcointalk!

I wanted to start a thread to gather information about ASIC quality for GPU's. As you know, most miners run air cooled systems where ASIC quality plays a role in better overclocking, less leakage and the ability to run lower voltages.

A good way to find out your ASIC quality is to use GPU-Z. This tool can be found below:

Installer: https://www.techpowerup.com/gpuz/
Portable Version (No Install): http://portableapps.com/apps/utilities/gpu-z-portable

After downloading GPU-Z, click the menu button at the top right of the window (Three parallel horizontal bars) then click the "ASIC Quality" tab.
The ASIC quality is read as a percentage. If you could post the model of the card and ASIC quality, we can gather information about which cards tend to have higher ASIC qualities.

My results are listed below:

MSI Gaming RX 480 8GB: 64.1%
MSI Gaming RX 480 8GB: 67.0%

MSI Armor RX 470 4GB: 63.3%

ASUS RX 480 8GB (Reference): 73.1%
ASUS RX 480 8GB (Reference): 84.4%

Sapphire Nitro R9 380 4GB: 67.0%

also the last driver i can use is 16.11.3,  16.11.4 and above they not working, i got a yellow ? on the driver
same happen with win 7 and 10  Huh

but is ok 16.11.3 is working fine, no fan bug

Its cause of custom bios I think. Use the pixel clock patch. It will sort the issue out for you and the cards will get detected.
https://www.monitortests.com/forum/Thread-AMD-ATI-Pixel-Clock-Patcher

Good Luck!

Is this patch for when the fans spin up to 100% for no reason on AMD cards?

Any news from the VOX team? Whats the deal with the buyback? Been pretty quiet in here.
I remembered yall after reading the Districts ANN thread lol.
28  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Tether (USDT) trustworthy? on: February 15, 2017, 04:15:59 AM
Tether isn't a really crytocoin per say. Just a coin that is tethered to the US dollar.

The company basically holds the same stash of money as there are coins $16,000,000 Tethers = $16,000,000 USD in bank. They make money off of the fees that people pay to withdraw (~10% if I remember correctly) into fiat. The great thing about the idea of Tether is that if anyone were to steal Tethers (USDT) from exchanges or some giant hack happens, then they can just essentially do a roll back. This makes it unattractive to steal Tethers in the first place. It is a good way to go from a lot of crypto to USD in times of bear markets without tax implications (minus the US and some other countries).
29  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ICONOMI - Fund Management Platform on: February 14, 2017, 08:30:50 AM
ICONOMI was a fun run. In this state of uncertainty, I am fully out. Made some great returns though.

Call me a "Weak Hand", but a deadcat bounce is imminent and then we find a new floor as investors sell to find a new ICO or whatever is moving around.
Until ICONOMI can give an official statement about this whole SEC fiasco, I have a funny feeling ICN may drop to ICO or pre-ICO levels.
30  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Interesting upcoming altcoin ICOs? on: February 14, 2017, 08:10:51 AM
Let me just warn you.

If a user has the ICO's signature, then they bought some and are trying to convince you to buy some too. Take their biased advice with the smallest grain of salt.
31  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's CryptoNote GPU Miner v9.7 on: January 25, 2017, 04:24:54 AM
Guys, any ideas why I get the following message?

Quote

33  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DarkMonero Logo Contest on: January 13, 2017, 09:14:50 PM
Is this related (like a fork) to Monero?

35  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: DarkMonero - 2.5 Money. The next level monetary system. on: January 13, 2017, 07:22:42 PM
I feel like the term Dark Monero is very redundant since Monero is already "dark".
Monero is already accepted by the DNM, RingCT implemented, fully anonymous.....

Also, your binary doesn't work or something? I tried multiple websites to convert it, but I get jargon like this:

36  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: help (mixing cards in same rig ) on: January 13, 2017, 07:18:19 PM
Windows allows mixing GPUs of all sorts, but Linux has issues with mixing new and old cards.
37  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's CryptoNote GPU Miner v9.7 on: January 13, 2017, 07:09:24 PM
Nanopool is supporting Monero mining with SSL connetions now.

Welcome to our pool https://xmr.nanopool.org
i'm mining till two hours at 700h/s but no xmr in unconfirmed balance............

This pool best for mining XMR

https://minergate.com/a/e172e848728edd0d2b97b9b5

Nice try sneaking your referral link to trick noobs...
For anyone wanting to use Minergate, go to Minergate.com directly.

My advice for anyone with a lower hashrate is to use Dwarfpool.com.
38  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: December 28, 2016, 12:42:21 AM
Monero is #2 in volume today on coinmarketcap.com
Second only to Bitcoin in volume. (Monero 24hr volume = $10,682,800)

Sheesh, how is this possible with so few exchanges trading Monero?

Poloniex and Bitfinex are huge exchanges. Polo also offers margin trading. The rest of the altcoin market has been dead in volume so Monero will naturally be way up there in volume.
39  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Help me build Monero mining rig on: December 28, 2016, 12:40:51 AM
Choose your GPU:
http://monerobechmarks.byethost5.com/

For everything else:
https://pcpartpicker.com/list/

GPU Risers:
https://www.amazon.com/6-Pack-PCI-E-Powered-Adapter-Extension/dp/B01GU94QSQ/ref=sr_1_2?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1482885581&sr=1-2&keywords=gpu+riser

HDMI Dummy plug (optional):
http://www.ebay.com/itm/0ship-HDMI-EDID-DDC-Plug-Headless-Linux-Windows-Mac1920x1200-emulator-dummy-USA-/191567271934?hash=item2c9a4c97fe:g:bcgAAOSw~OdVb-7m

Monero only needs minimal specs on everything but GPU. CPU mining is pretty much useless unless you buy a nice CPU, which the cost would be expensive. GPU's generally have better resale value anyways.

Don't expect to ROI for probably a year or so.

Google for whatever Mobo you want depending on how many PCIE slots are one there.

what's the latest available linux version?

can somebody estimate the hashrate for a 380X? (Modded/Unmodded?)

Thanks  Smiley

edit: 9.1 is probably the latest linux version... however I can't get it running:

Code:
root@ubunturig:/home/ubuntu/xmrmining/miner_14x# ./miner -u 449TGay4WWJPwsXrWZfkMoPtDbJp8xoSzFuyjRt3iaM4bRHdzw4qoDu26FdcGx67BMDS1r2bnp7f5hF6xdPWWrD3Q3Wf7G6 -p x -tt 75

GPU Target Temperature: 75C

ͻ
Claymore CryptoNote GPU Miner  v9.1 Beta
ͼ
Killed
root@ubunturig:/home/ubuntu/xmrmining/miner_14x#

Any ideas?
Thanks!

Unmodded 380X = roughly 550 for me. Not the best card for mining.
