I set up a deal with the Moneypack seller. He is offering 117% gox price.
How can he offer more than gox? He has 180 feedback 100% but weird that he offers more. There is another seller with high feedback offering the same amount so idk.
Not saying that it's on the up and up, but - it can cost quite a bit in fee's to get money onto the exchanges depending on how you are doing it. If they can avoid the fee's (by depositing BTC onto the exchange instead of USD) it can be a good deal for both parties. You get cash and they get something onto an exchange. 17% seems way too high, but I have no idea what the particular sellers situation is.

Looking good, I'll hop back over with a couple of miners for awhile now that the new alt coin craze has died down somewhat. Come on over! Lets get over 100 Just jumped on myself, HUGE decrease in stales for me as well thus far. Now as long as everything else goes smoothly I'll be sticking around. Thx for the great pool

I'm past 4 hours, and well past 5 posts. Just wondering what the procedure is. Thanks!
Mine just happened automatically. I'm guessing it's not instant tho...

So the only bitcoin comment I see on the page is posted on their April fools day joke post...surely this isn't the best way to get their attention.

It's the bandwidth available to the PCIe lane. As far as mining is concerned, it doesn't matter. Even 1x lanes are perfectly fine.
And the link you posted doesn't appear to go anywhere.

Got the drives in the mail today... unfortunately didn't have as good luck as the other customer. 1) UPS charged me an extra $45 for brokerage fees at the border (should have mentioned to never ship to Canada with UPS, was partly my fault. For future reference only use USPS to Canada). 2) Drives were in really bad shape, anti-static bags are nearly torn and heavily perforated from being banged around so much. One of the PCBs on one of the WD drives is actually scratched deeply. It looks like they were shipped with air-filled plastic baggies, but these all popped from rough handling by UPS which let the drives bounce around like crazy in the foam peanuts that filled the remaining half of the box.
I will test them out next week sometime, hopefully they're okay.
I apologize, it was never mentioned to me by UPS that they would charge a 'fee' for getting it across the border when shipping the package, all that was told to me was the rate to ship the box. This is my first time shipping to Canada, now I know too I guess. As for the condition of the box, this is the second time (just this week) that UPS has destroyed a box with electronics in it on me. Let me know how things go with the drives and if it doesn't work out well I'll make it right the best I can. Thanks.

bitpay charges 0.99% to put btc to your account and 3% to convert it to usd
This is absolutely wrong. I have been using bitpay for the last few weeks and never paid more then the promised .99% fee (even when converting to USD). I have processed about $530 in USD transactions and paid $5.24 in fee's total. https://bitpay.com/pricing

Great show, love that you guys are doing this.
Just an FYI, I went to donate some BTC and all of your 'fund' buttons say they are for show 2. Now I appreciated them all, but it was the last one that got me to donate to you. If you are using this as a measure of what to talk to that people like, know that my recent donation was for show 5!

I bought them at the end of April of last year (all at the same time) from a local Microcenter.
From what I recall they came with 3 year warranties, so yes they should still be covered. I do not know if these warranties transfer to a new buyer though unless you know more about the subject?

Startup costs can be expensive but it is definitely worth it considering you can resell the GPUs later for 75% resale value.
this was absolutely my first thoughts when I got into this...if my 7970s are only producing about $5 per day (they aren't, they are making more then that atm) you're only looking at a month to break even assuming it all tanks and you have to unload the hardware you bought. So if my risks are mine for a month and loose a bit of time in the learning curve plus reselling the hardware, it was worth it for the experience. If the market continues where it's at or goes up, you'll be sitting pretty well with your mining hardware already on it's way to being paid off. However, it is unlikely to be profitable to mine using your own electricity unless you have access to free electricity(Work/School).
I've seen this argument SOOO many times before. I understand that I pay less then the average for electricity (.07 per kWh), even if it was quadruple that, which I'm making an uneducated guess is the upper limit of what most people pay, I would still be profitable by quite a bit with the current difficulty and prices in the various altcoin markets. Just as long as what you put into it is in fact something you are willing to loose completely, I'd say go for it for the learning experience and just so you can be a part of something fascinating. I'd much rather have my money in my mining rigs right now then in a mutual fund or something else much less intellectually stimulating.

Received my drive in great working condition today. Shipping was fast, the price was low, communication was prompt and easy to understand. But most importantly, the product (1.5TB Samsung drive) was packaged superbly. You guys have no idea how many times I have either seen or received expensive computer hardware without anti-static bags, or bouncing around inside the box. This drive was in an anti-static and VERY well padded. I asked for escrow, and I know now that if I ever need to work with him again, that won't be necessary. Great seller here, folks.
Thanks Chance, I appreciate it! Chance was a great buyer who was super easy to work with and was very fair with his pricing USD / BTC, and this was my first escrow experience which seems to have gone very smoothly so far. Still looking to unload some more stuff so I can build up my savings All this volatility in price has caused people to really hold on to their BTC. Here's to hoping it gets stable again soon..

While I don't think this is a bad idea to have private area's, one of my favorite websites (wickedfire) takes an approach that allows the newcomers to read worthwhile posts while excluding them from posting in that section (they call it the 'enlightened members' section).
Most posts end up there because a moderator thought they were particularly worthwhile or the members voted that it should go there. The difference between this and a truly private section is everyone can still read the posts in there and gain insights (and hopefully increase their posting quality through the knowledge gained there) without having idea's horded by just the members who are able to read a 'private' section.
I, being new here, would appreciate a section like this as well as it's usually a good starting point to get your head wrapped around new concepts without having to sift through a pile of other stuff or ask questions that have been answered and subsequently buried under everything else and difficult to find. I am of course biased being new myself and not likely to be included in a private section, but my thoughts really lie on this forum turning me onto crypto currency despite having to sift through things to learn how to get started. If there was an easy section with lots of worthwhile idea's for new people to start on it might encourage others to take the time to learn and get involved.
Hopefully we can see something like the 'enlightened members' section here.

Yet quitting your day job remains very risky. What if all these coins go up in a cloud of smoke after you've told the boss to shove it? Looks like it's back up regardless, guess someone was watching over it

Yeah I think it's just their web server that's been eaten, but I don't want to risk it and switched pools.
it baffles me that pool owners first thoughts aren't to come here and post what's going on when things like this happen.. It's usually a hobby for them, they cannot devote their lives to it and still eat. Just with the hashing power on LTC, at 2% you are looking @ $150-200 per day here.. That's NOT including other coins, PPS, etc. If you have a small business that pulls in 2k+ per week, I imagine you could at least eat I get that a few weeks ago the numbers weren't this high...but now that they are...

So, I've got a ton of rigs running this now with zero problems...all of them setup the same w/ 13.3 drivers and win7 64bit running 7970s. I have one right that is being an absolute PITA and throwing out an error that tells me to check out the log file... This is what the log reports everytime I try to run the program: ERROR:root:Exception: Traceback (most recent call last): File "guiminer.py", line 2845, in run File "guiminer.py", line 2130, in __init__ File "json\__init__.pyo", line 278, in load File "json\__init__.pyo", line 326, in loads File "json\decoder.pyo", line 360, in decode File "json\decoder.pyo", line 378, in raw_decode ValueError: No JSON object could be decoded
Don't suppose you have any idea what this is about??
