2. No.  You'll decrease the useful life of your GPU if you have it mining 24/7.  Adequate cooling will mitigate this risk.

Bitcoin has a proof-of-work system, so does the forum! Besides reducing robo-spam, it also gives you some time to search and read before posting a question (or theory about why Bitcoin will never work) that has been previously answered multiple times.
Yeah, whatever.

I already know about bitcoin and I've been mining for a while.  I joined yesterday to answer a question I saw posted in a thread in mining hardware.
