21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you deal with stress? on: July 22, 2017, 01:57:49 AM
Smoke weed and jerk off, the safest vices that exist.  Beyond that avoid trying to play the markets on the short term, and look more on a 6-12 month timeline, and just hold through any volatility.  If you did your research you will make money even if you time your entry poorly and buy right before a dip.

I remember once buying some BitBay at 160 sats, only to see it crash down towards 50.  I was able to have the ability to just say "fuck it" and I bought more, and about a year later it has paid off.
22  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the first sign of a scam project (ico) for you? on: July 21, 2017, 05:32:21 PM
Honestly better to look for signs that an ICO is NOT a scam, than the reverse.  Good ICO's are like a needle in a haystack.

Usually the very fact that there is an ICO is enough for me to write a project off completely.  I will make exceptions only if they demonstrate clear innovation, and the ICO is done in a fair and transparent manner as well.  An example would be Komodo; you got a reasonable amount of coins in exchange, the ICO lasted several months, BTCD conversions are accepted for a full year which is still going, and they overall did a solid job of advertising for it.  Still not ideal, but I have enough respect for their team that I am willing to overlook it.  Another one is Bitbay, which stood at less than 1/3 of its relative bitcoin ICO price for the better part of 2 years with a market cap sitting at $100k-$300k USD, everyone had good opportunity to get in on that one early.

I will also say that devs using their real identities is generally a plus, but sometimes they scam anyway, and sometimes anonymous devs stick around longer.  @jl777 I feel I can take a chance on because he has been here for years, if he was going to cut and run he'd of done it by now;  @Smooth is another good example of that (though I believe he has shared his identity with other devs, but I don't remember well enough to be certain.)

Another ICO, it is garbage.
24  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The fate of Litecoin on: July 21, 2017, 12:56:49 PM
I think that with multiple versions of segwit and the 2mb hardfork near in the future, I think LTC is still a strong pick for hedging against BTC
25  Economy / Speculation / Re: Fasten your seatbelts: Bitcoin volatility in for a wild ride on: July 21, 2017, 03:58:56 AM
On an aside, the Bolivar is named after Simon Bolivar, and he was NOT a communist, just a revolutionary.  He was born 35 years before Karl Marx therefore it is erroneous to call him a communist when the manifesto hadn't even written yet.

Back on topic, great post otherwise and I agree completely, this will be one wild ride.
26  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is it over? on: July 19, 2017, 06:21:47 PM
It's over for now, the bull run will continue as long as a hardfork is out of the picture. In November or around there then it's time to go into some alt again to profit from the idiots selling so we can buy more cheap BTC on the dip.

Except it isn't over, and a hardfork is NOT out of the picture.  The people mining BTC are the same people mining LTC, and what happened there is that the acceptance rate for Segwit went up and down constantly, and that was accompanied by insane levels of market volatility.  Whether or not there will be a fork is actually irrelevant, the fact is there will be enough market uncertainty in the next 2 weeks to push down bitcoin to sub-$2000 levels yet again; it takes surprisingly little to send the market into full panic mode, and whales and miners will take advantage of that.

It will happen or I will eat my dick on live television (but not really)

Note: I am still bullish on BTC long term, just not for the next 2 weeks

I am from the future. No, it's not over, everything is rising hard again Cheesy

That's my thing, get out of here!

Rich people
28  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: IOTA manual claims tracker (UNOFFICIAL) on: July 19, 2017, 03:21:48 PM
This thread gave me AIDS. @Come-from-Beyond you act like a child, are you not leading a project worth 100's of millions of $?  You should consider acting like it if you want to be taken seriously.
29  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 'Ethereum Co-Founder Says Crypto Coin Market Is a Time-Bomb' on: July 19, 2017, 03:05:29 PM

Mastercard news pumped price again to 0.1 ETH / BTC but it is more likely we will retest 150$ or even 100$ soon. Because I think this was only short term pump news.

The amazing thing about news like that still affects the market. This demonstrates how investors lack knowledge about the difference between ETH the token and Ethereum the platform. It's like they still think they are the same thing.

It's similar to someone investing in Wordstar because it's written in C++ and they believe in the potential of the programming language. Likely few of these investors even know what Wordstar is; but, have at least heard of C++.

The fact is that companies experimenting with blockchain technology will never use the public token ETH. They are simply experimenting with the various packages (platforms) already available. In some cases like R3 after experimenting with the Ethereum platform they move on to other products or produce their own.

As long as members of the ETH community continue to mislead people with news like this and as long as investors are too lazy to actually learn about what they pour their money into, this con job will continue.

This is a very succinct explanation of what is being done with the Ethereum platform right now; the technical experimentation we get from it may be valuable, but the kind of bubble economics being played with the token is not anywhere near justified.
30  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What is a better investment right now, ETH or LTC? on: July 18, 2017, 08:45:32 PM
Just take a look at how well Litecoin performs every time Bitcoin dips and compare that to Ethereum's performance in those situations.  Then if you remember that there is a possible fork in bitcoin occurring on August 1st, you might realize that you want something that performs well when bitcoin dumps.
31  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which 'solid' altcoin took the worst hit? on: July 18, 2017, 07:35:55 PM
Sia more than any other legit project.  It is a fairly distributed coin and it is pretty much dominating the decentralized file storage game, and yet lost over 50% of it's value against bitcoin from the ATH.

Great tech, fair distribution, already very established, and in the middle of a huge dip, what more could you ask for?
32  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Storj (SJCK) vs. Siacoin (SC) - Discussion on: July 18, 2017, 07:15:41 PM

LOL! All that guy did was talk shit and embellish and now he just up and quits, what a riot.  And this kids, is why you always choose the coin with fairer distribution, the devs for those projects generally have a lot more conviction.
33  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Sorry me, but it Very important information about litecoin (LTC) on: July 18, 2017, 01:08:38 PM
Nobody listen to this idiot
34  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Critique my altcoin portfolio plan on: July 18, 2017, 01:07:03 PM
Nix Eth, XRP, and Dash.  People need to stop buying overly centralized coins, they cannot be trusted and end up being far more volatile.  The other three are good picks, though right now I would prioritize LTC, as that will be the best hedge against BTC during the potential fork.
35  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Sorry me, but it Very important information about litecoin (LTC) on: July 17, 2017, 12:57:22 PM
The idea of litecoin was to be a safe place to be in the case of insane congestion in the bitcoin network, so judging the price because of the current number of transaction is stupid. You must think 3 steps ahead to be holding the right thing before everyone else. Litecoin seems to be looking good on the technical analysis aspect but we'll see how it performs if bitcoin manages to scale. When bitcoin goes red everything goes red.
To high risk back to normal price $7.5.
At 2015 it was happen during 1 hour.

If it sucks so much you should short it!  Come on buddy, put your money where your mouth is, let's see it!
36  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will all coins continue to go down until 1st August? on: July 16, 2017, 11:39:05 PM
Litecoin holding dollar value and gaining btc value

Actually starting to gain on dollar value as well.

Litecoin is going to be the most bullish major coin leading up to August 1st IMO
37  Economy / Economics / Re: Your plans for 1st august? on: July 16, 2017, 02:14:11 PM
I'm just holding LTC and waiting for the dust to settle to get back in to BTC; regardless of what the end result is after August 1st, I can tell you it won't be smooth sailing getting there.
38  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is this a decent strategy? (selling ico first day on exchange) on: July 14, 2017, 10:05:45 PM
I love this topic and i look forward to all the top shelf replies from the NOOB account investment advisers.

You and me both, it's like these guys WANT to lose money
39  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: i think "bitcoin unlimited" is better than segwit. on: July 13, 2017, 10:29:36 PM
You are consistently wrong about everything you post about
40  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: There is no doubt that the crypto world is a game of the big whales on: July 12, 2017, 11:56:05 PM
It sucks, and if I could make this kind of inorganic trading go away I would do it in a heartbeat; but there is nothing that can be done unfortunately, at least not from our end.  Just play the game, try not to fuck anyone over, or get fucked over, and invest only in fairly distributed coins.  If crypto is going to survive, it will need to do so in spite of these financial games.
