EDIT: you mean the temps. Yes the temps I provided are with the top on. Temps were better with the top on.

What about temps compared to open frame with no forced ventilation ?
Did the seller send the case with Delta AFB1212SHE fans ?
Also what is the fan noise compared to the reference or other GPUs  doing 80-100% fan speed .

Hi All, I am running into a odd problem, with 13X 1070Ti my 4GB RAM runs out of available sapce. At start I usually have about 2.5 GB memory available but in approximate 4 hours available memory drops 0 and the system restarts. Is anyone else having this issue? Are we supposed to have 8GB RAM for running 13 GPUS?

Any thoughts guys.. 4GB or 8GB RAM for 13x GPUS?
8GB was needed for 13x 1070GTX while 12x RX570/580 working fine so far with 4GB

All my Colorful mobos have Colorful markings with serial number

is this the one with K17 (without CPU) and K35 variant (with CPU) ?

Colorful is  totally different from K17
Colorful have 8x 6 pin at the GPU side , 3 fan headers , single ram slot , 8 pin CPU in with special out cable from board , Sata power out on board with special cable.
K17 have 6x 6 pin at the CPU from , 6 fan headers , no CPU in , or out or sata out .
Also colorful board have larger GPU spacing
My K17 died and killed 8 RX570 GPUs + Msata HD after running 8 GPUs for few minuets  , on the other hand the Colorful been running for like two weeks now .
My colorful doenst have any colorful markings and no serial number .

Thank you for the help with setting up my wallets!  I'm getting paid now!  Cool

Just curious..All of the cards are the similar model Gigabyte GPU's...but there is like 75 Sol/s variation on one or two.  Stats below...GPU0 is the troubled one.

Myself and a few others have the same issue. It's always with GPU0. It's not a hardware issue because it will perform fine in Windows, and doesn't make sense that others would have the same issue with only GPU0. Sadly, I haven't received any advice on how to resolve it or acknowledgement that anyone is listening to our issue.

I had similar problem with my Onda B250 board , was working fine in windows and slower in SMOS , found later that it was slower because i maunally set this slot to Gen1 while the rest of the slots on AUTO
25  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 8 GPU riser-less motherboard and case available soon on: January 10, 2018, 06:10:04 PM

What case are you ordering to go with the Onda board? Is it the one the OP showed ?

Onda Board is longest board due to large slot spacing compared to colorful and K17 , K17 is the shortest  ,

Here is the Onda case

K17 board is epic fail , only good for 1060GTX setups  , mine couldn't fit RX570 Pulse GPUs and barely fit MSI 570 armor only to die after first 5 minutes and taking away msata HD with it , it was working fine for two weeks with 4 RX570 Nitro GPUs becuuase it couldnt fit all 8 GPUs and i was waitting for the MSI/Pulse to arrive

Interesting - did you only have the one, or did you have more?  Just wondering if it could be a bad board, as it looks very similar to the Colorful board, and I have 10 machines running those, with a variety of 1070's and 1080's without any issues...

unfortunately i had only one , I ordered one sample of 3 different boards ,K17 , Colorful and Onda , both the Colorful and Onda been running for two weeks now with 8 RX570 GPUs doing ETN/XMR , tested ETH for few minutes only because GPUs heat up very quickly if you dont have forced ventilation(extra fans)  and since the Onda was the best choice i ordered sample case and waiting  for it to test the Onda under ETH and Dual mining for long periods  , to see how far it goes .currently i am only pulling 850W from the wall .
Also note that colorful board setup started to smell after 5 minutes  of ETH but i wasn't sure if it the GPUs or the board.

any update on this?

@tytanick
Yesterday all my rigs stopped doing XMR/ETN after they restarted for update , re-flashed the pen-drive with no luck and now forced to run ETH.

The miner loads successfully but it is not getting new work as if it is not connected to the pool and console shows zero hash , miner screen shows only temperature and fans readings .

Any Body here using 8 GPU board Onda with RX , i have been having problem with GPU0 being very slow , 15 MH etherum instead of 29 and 170 hash xmr instead of 900 .

Just received the 315$ miner posted earlier in the thread, surprisingly the quality is better than my expectations.
What I received is board, case,1600W power supply with 10 6Pin connectors, 3 delta fans, 8 cables (6 pin to 6 pin)
What i didn't expect  is that K17 board is smaller than the colorful and have tighter slots spacing

The Good

Delta fans
Case quality is good
PSU quality looks similar to bitmain PSU
6 fan connectors
2 ram slots
Work with both Msata and M.2

The Bad
PSU fan running 100%
board spacing is horrible, 570/580 Nitro cards didn’t fit
No possibility of Sata HD

So far after testing 3 different 8GPU boards , Onda is ranked number one mainly for slot spacing .

How do you like the Colorful vs the Onda?  Those are nice pictures, I've had a hard time finding pictures of either board with the right angle and clarity to see how much space is between the GPUs. It looks like with the right kind of airflow either board would work for 8 GPUs (at least the less power/heat hungry ones).

Colorful pros:
  • Can use server PSU as all it needs is 8x 6-pin PCIe power
  • Fan power headers in the perfect place

Colorful cons:
  • Slot spacing very tight
  • Custom 4-pin to 4-pin CPU power cable
  • Expensive DDR4 SODIMM ram

Onda pros:
  • Slot spacing is perfect

Onda cons:
  • Slot0 won't take a full length card
  • Molex and Sata power connectors
  • ATX power connector
  • Fan headers not accessible with GPUs installed
  • Expensive DDR4 SODIMM

The Onda V2.0 takes care of just about all the cons with V1.0.  About the only con left is that you need a PICO if you want to use a server PSU since it retains the ATX power connector.

Let me add some little Comments for Colorful vs the Onda 2.0,

Colorful Pro
Colorful have special cable to power SATA HD from the board (supplier sent both CPU and Sata cables)
Colorful have 4 Fan ports
Colorful Posted from first boot and ran 8 GPUs without touching the Bios.

Colorful Cons
Colorful only has two USB rear ports which is pain in initial quick  setup

Onda Cons
Onda was pain for me for first boot , only booted on built in GPU with no GPUs plugged until bios settings changed
Onda has only 2 Fan hearers

Yeah, imagine 160x 1060s in a 42U rack. 5 racks of these for MOQ.

Already ordered sample of mobo + case + PSU , the server version 8GPU , 315$ + shipping .

Surprisingly they are quoting me more expensive price for CPU , ram and SSD.

CPU: Intel Pentium G4400, unit price is $75USD

RAM: DDR4 2133 4G, unit price is $85USD

SSD: 120G  msata connector, unit price is $77USD

Should be perfect for 8*RX570 doing XMR while pulling 800W for whole system .
33  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sixth alt coin thread I forgot to mod last thread. on: December 10, 2017, 06:20:05 AM
Just wanted to add, you could buy the onda mobo in a 4U case, fully pre-built (just add gpu) for 500 usd: https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/mining-machine-ETH-machine-4u-8xgpu_60708486305.html

It costs $110 to ship to my place though.

What about the PSU quality , how much power can it handle , what about the quality of the cable and connectors ?
34  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sixth alt coin thread I forgot to mod last thread. on: December 05, 2017, 09:44:20 AM

@kemo - interesting thought - did not cross my mind to do that way - however, i will use whatever power allocation/format the mobo was designed for -- this will reduce any risks or surprises in future. I use the 6pin to 2 x 6+2pin splitter to support the 2x8pin cards... as long as you dont overload those cables (not exceeding 300w-350w) it should be ok.

Most of this boards are designed for 1060GTX GPUs , my RX580 8GB rigs already using more than 1300W from the wall when dual mining  , if we assumed that they are using 400-500W from the PCI slots then there is more than 800W are just passing through the board from input point to output point , that is extra heat on the PCB and extra stress on the low quality connectors .

35  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sixth alt coin thread I forgot to mod last thread. on: December 05, 2017, 08:07:41 AM

It will be in the farm in a few hours - the farm will be the real test if this guy survives.

The farm runs 34-35c on normal days and can get higher during hotter days.

The miner in question is the black box behind the 8 x R7-370 on a "k17" China mobo.

Do you  recommend powering the GPUs from the motherboard 6-pin output ? or better straight form the delta , cheapest DPS2400 came with 16 Cable which is plenty to power both the GPUs and board .
36  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 2400 watt Server PSU on Asrock H110 PRO BTC - NEED HELP on: December 04, 2017, 07:52:01 PM
What type of risers you are using, if they are powered by the delta psu and you are using also powered riser on the 16x slot then you can simply disable the extra connectors from the bios. Been running for months without them

I am running totally different approach.
Rx400/500 locked to ETH dual mining and 70% doing dcr, 30% sia , second coin is turned to Fiat every few months to pay for electricity and since June Bull run there is always surplus that is kept for periods with lower profits, partners are paid in ETH after simple Excel calculation whenever they request.
GTX cards locked to ZEC due to it is stability and great potential and running on free electricity from DCR/SC from the RX farm since I already have enough coins to pay for 2 months of electricity.
I might start to take electricity into the consideration when DCR/SC ASIC start delivering next year

So cut the long story short, I use NH to get BTC back. Yeah they charge a tad too expensive, but hey... I will pay a few sats for someone to remove my headaches and give BTC me upfront for buying my hash everyday - no questions asked.

You might be better off with mining directly to pool with auto BTC exchange or mine direct to bittrex with Automatic sell orders , nicehash has is only profitable for few days every couple of months when there is new coins like ETN .
39  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sixth alt coin thread I forgot to mod last thread. on: November 22, 2017, 06:22:28 AM

4gb is sufficient. the HBCC issue, you can just disable and reenable cards in device manager. No need to toggle HBCC.

I only have 2 rigs of vega and they work with 8gb. (bought a ton of 4gb sticks so most my rigs run 2 sticks)

How often is this kind of maintenance to re-enable HBCC required?
Never with your 8GB?

Check the Vega threads , it is very easy to make a batch file to disable and enable the cards on startup, HBCC isnt the factor boosting the Hash rate , it is a driver bug where you need to disable and enable the GPU and that is exactly what HBCC does . ,Better use a Mobo with Built in GPU and use a Dummy plug for screen on all the time . the only thing i am having problem with is that with every crash i need to re-adjust wattman settings .

Also, I have near 100% uptime every since using SRR system - worth every penny that system - sleeping well again.

@ Citronick

Posted a question on the SRR thread but no reply, maybe you can tell/advise me?

I'm in the process of moving all my rigs to SMOS, received a SRRv2 (not plugged in/tried it yet) which will do 8 rigs, but I have 11 rigs on SMOS at the moment. The expansion board will obviously add 32 rigs when it's available.

If I bought another SRRv2 to cater for rigs 9 to 11, will it work OK, or will they clash with each other and not work?

I see you need to enter the serial number of SRR when setting up the system, so I'm 'assuming' if I was running two SRRs with different serials, all would be OK?

Yes it should work fine but expansion board will be cheaper if available
