21  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: is it still worth mining? on: October 06, 2017, 06:11:20 AM
If you have cheap electricity, maybe. Electricity at $0.05 per kilowatt-hour or less is ideal. Unfortunately it might be impossible to recover the cash used to buy the miner. I read an article where the money used to buy miners could actually get a higher profit if BTC were bought directly as the value of BTC rose. Therefore you might want to consider just buying the BTC instead of spending the time, money and effort trying to mine.
22  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining Alt coins on: October 06, 2017, 05:53:38 AM
Whattomine covers most of the altcoins. I think they do not include coins that have very small volume so the coins listed there should be relatively more stable in price as the volume is larger. By experience you can trust the figures for the most profitable coins there and you might earn more than what’s stated if you overclock.
23  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Does BTC control a lot of the other altcoins on: October 06, 2017, 05:49:23 AM
Interesting question. I know Bitcoin price affects all other AltCoins price as everyone here said.

But why?

It is because as bitcoin drops in value people panic and sell their altcoin to get bitcoin to sell into fiat. Selling = price drop so when bitcoin price drops other altcoins also drop in general.
24  Economy / Services / Re: Need 7000 participants for bounty campaign on: October 03, 2017, 01:43:04 PM
You will need an insane budget to

1. Pay everyone
2. Offer really good rates to attract these many people
3. Open up to newbies
4. Pay all those bounty managers that will manage this really big bounty

I feel that it is possible though, good luck! Hopefully if you get this project undergoing with great rewards I can participate too.
25  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: altcoins bounty campaigns are waste on: October 03, 2017, 01:31:47 PM
It's not that you should not try bounty campaigns anymore but choose the correct ones. Look at the rewards and convert them to usd/btc, see whether it's worth it or not. There are some bounties that pay 25 coins per week for signature campaign which seems like a lot, until you find out that 10000 coins is equivalent to 1 ETH and is totally not worth it at all. But there are other altcoin bounties that offer decent rates such as Wordcoin (20-40 usd a week they claim). If you still do not feel comfortable just rank up to full member and participate in those sweet sweet bitcoin campaigns that pay out decenr rates per week.

BTW do not worry about electroneum if you're participating in the Bitcoin campaign, they scrapped the altcoin campaign I think. The BTC one has decent rates.
26  Economy / Services / Re: Need Sig Camp Manager and designers, and whitepaper writer on: October 02, 2017, 10:46:39 AM

Looking for people to write whitepaper.

Reply with any related projects on the chosen category, and samples, on this thread.

Hello, I have no prior experience writing whitepapers but I feel that the fact that I can grasp concepts and ideas easily in addition being a native speaker would help me in writing this whitepaper if hired. Please do drop me a PM if you are interested. I will have no problems working with the respondent above that had some prior experience writing whitepapers - I feel that it is better for 2-3 people to write it so that any misunderstandings, typographical or grammatical errors can be spotted and corrected more easily.
27  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Cherry Servers - We cherish the chance to meet you! on: October 02, 2017, 10:39:56 AM
Any vouch? What stops you from taking the bitcoins and running away with the money at hand? Maybe you have an escrow or something?
28  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if another altcoin surpasses BTC in value? on: September 30, 2017, 12:56:21 PM
People should stop focus on the value of an altcoin or their market caps. Altcoins enjoy no actual usage other than the speculative aspect, and that's something people here don't seem to think about.

I feel that most altcoins do not serve any actual usage, BUT we have a few such as XMR and ETH that actually have real life usages (privacy and smart contracts) while others have low transaction fees (DOGE or BURST for example). I somewhat agree with many of your thoughts that it would basically be impossible to happen in the next 5 years - but note that 5 years relatively long time. With more and more people getting interested in crypto, BTC is going to be traded a fair lot. However the increased interest will probably result in a higher chance of people developing alts that are "revolutionary" in some sense and be as sought after as BTC.
29  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Thoughts about Burstcoin? on: September 30, 2017, 12:46:59 PM
Yes, I agree that the forking is a disadvantage. I figure that if the devs try and stop this (I'm not sure how as I'm not a programmer of any sort) it would be better than bitcoin in every aspect (smart contracts, insanely small fees, etc) but it seems like it would take ages to solve.
30  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Thoughts about Burstcoin? on: September 29, 2017, 12:37:18 PM
They seem to be a very promising coin. The only altcoin out there that uses HDD space to mine and they even have their own asset exchange which works something like a stock market, in addition to the very low electricity  used to mine (because they use disk space and hard drives use 10 watts at most each) compared to other coins that allow CPU/GPU/ASIC mining. Very unique coin indeed. What are your thoughts on this coin? It feels very undervalued to me.
31  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / What if another altcoin surpasses BTC in value? on: September 29, 2017, 12:09:39 PM
What will you do if some altcoin (XMR or ETH for example surpasses the value of BTC, either in market cap or by the price of a token each? Will you sell your BTC to buy the more "valuable" coin, or continue using and holding BTC? Also, what do you think are the chances that it could happen? I would like to hear your thoughts and opinions.

Here you state that only Jr Ranks and up are accepted for the signature campaign. And you add in a newbie signature? What is the point of doing so if they cannot participate?

Also, what are the stakes for each rank? No one above full member will come to do the signature campaign if the stakes are the same for everyone. In addition, I would like to point out that your project has multiple grammatical errors and spelling errors in addition to awkward sentence phrasing. If you need some help correcting them, I would be happy to assist at a resonable fee negotiated via PM. I wish you the best of luck in this project.
33  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CPU dependant parts of equihash algorithm | performance ?? on: September 28, 2017, 09:49:57 AM
Are you sure that equihash uses CPU? Can you quote the source that it does? I have never seen it anywhere before. Also, I have read posts on the EWBF mining thread that use a pentium with approximately 16 GPUs on a mobo (if I remember correctly) and his hashrates do not seem to have a drop.
34  Economy / Goods / Re: Btc to gold bars on: September 28, 2017, 09:19:34 AM
I would keep it as bitcoins as you may loss value in gold but anyone interested  in doing business with you will be OK as you offing escrow as long as it someone trusted on bitcoih talk
Pretty much bullshit, Gold is pretty damn stable while Bitcoin is much more volatile but you won't have the option of the high increases of value that bitcoin could have but the gold value when you buy it won't be too shaky.

Yes, gold has been around since the dawn of civilisation and has a way bigger market cap. Besides OP is just gone with 3 activity only? Smells suspicious, unless he could escrow I would NOT recommend anyone sending him any BTC. Also BTC is looking really bullish right now so don't sell it just yet Cheesy
35  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BURSTcoin (BURST) - On the bottom and ready for moon ! on: September 27, 2017, 04:31:32 PM
Someone (or an organisation) was DDoSing something. Apparently the wallets, pools etc all went offline and there was a major dump. It’s at the bottom of a decline in prices and I think it will go up back to 500-600sats eventually but it will take a long long time for trust and people to come back into Burstcoin.
36  Economy / Services / Re: CoinBC is Hiring Experienced Writers on: September 26, 2017, 04:30:35 PM
You might want to state your approximate price and lower the requirements of this job so that people will apply. Besides, how do you ensure that you will pay out? If I am not mistaken I do not see any escrow and you (as a newbie) can just slink away and not pay anybody for their work.
37  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What to mine today?? on: September 25, 2017, 12:36:25 PM
i mean what is good to mine doing profit. some good coin for example eth difficulty is very high now cause of the next hard fork people are mining all eth possible before hard fork.
etc is good now to mine price 10 usd which it will go up to 20 again and low difficolty

Well you could go to whattomine.com, put in your GPU/ASIC, and calculate the most profitable coin with electricity costs, energy consumption, etc all calculated for you and you would never need to ask anyone for the most profitable coin again. If you do not mind the ads I feel that this website is the best as the difficulty, exchange rate etc are all up-to-date and you will have less fears about any outdated information ruining your mining profits.
38  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: 500 BTC NEEDED VIA TTM IN MADRID (PAYMENT BY BANK TRANSFER) on: September 19, 2017, 12:34:59 PM
No one will ever trade 500 bitcoin at a 20% loss -- That's basically losing $400k USD for no reason when the person can just sell to GDAX or something for a minimal loss?
39  Economy / Economics / Re: China Vs Cryptos Your opinions :) open talk on: September 19, 2017, 11:48:46 AM
Actually China is trying to regulate BTC and other altcoins. They are probably shutting down the exchanges so that they can either regulate exchange companies or open exchanges themselves. Indirecly we can infer that China recognizes BTC as a legitamate thing and not a scam as those bankers and elites suggest. Also when the exchanges open again its pretty obvious that the price of BTC will increase further up from the current price now as the trading volume slowly flows back.
